The public's enthusiasm for commuter lane (light train) in Jakarta is now quite high with the addition of the number of passengers every year. Along with the addition of the number of passengers, train stations must also be able to accommodate the number of passengers. Therefore, the authors conducted a study to determine the feasibility of the platform in Station Pondok Cina for accommodating the addition of the number of passengers, in this case pedestrian's level of service is a feasibility parameter of the station. The study was conducted by comparing the existing condition of St. Pondok Cina's platform with the future condition in coming years. Existing condition is learned by survey in the field and then processed manually for determining the pedestrian's level of service. The future condition is made in simulating model and processed by PTV Viswalk to get an overview in the coming years. Model parameters are estimated based on existing condition parameters and passenger targets. The results of this study show the existing station design will not be able to accommodate the number of passenger plans. Level of service Station Pondok Cina is bad enough and will not be able to accommodate the additional number of passengers later, therefore the design of the plan station needs to be realized to meet the demand of passengers so the pedestrian's level of service, which are influenced by the size of the pedestrian area and the number of incoming access, can be preferable

Walkability refers to the ease of walking in an area, considering factors like safety, comfort, and security due to the presence of interconnected pathways. In this study, an assessment of walkability was conducted from Manggarai Station to the Manggarai TransJakarta Bus Stop to evaluate the quality of the infrastructure for pedestrian. Data was collected through both on-site observations and the distribution of online through social meadia. Findings from the observations indicate that the walkability score for the path from Manggarai Station to the Manggarai TransJakarta Bus Stop is 68.5, categorizing as "waiting to walk/somewhat walkable." Several parameters received lower scores, including the availability of crosswalks, the presence of obstacles, security against crime, and facilities for individuals with disabilities. It's worth noting that the walkability parameter scores decreased, especially in terms of obstacles and security from crime, after the 5th switch-over at Manggarai Station, which coincided with a change in the KRL route.

The Role of urban transport policy in achieving sustainable development in Jakarta, Indonesia

Jakarta's transport system has moved away from sustainability over the past fifty years. Traffic accidents and air pollution have become serious problems, and growing congestion has resulted in increasing travel times. The present study was aimed at establishing how to reverse this trend and to uncover factors which may have been instrumental in the failure over recent decades to address this situation, and which may be corrected through better planning and policy. To do this, previous urban transport studies commissioned to deal with these problems were critically reviewed to establish which of their recommendations had been adopted and what were the actual outcomes. A survey of the existing transport system was also undertaken, involving government officers, academics, members of transport associations and member of Non-Government Organisations involved in urban transport. A further survey was done to establish the views of these stake-holders on why the policies adopted had not solved the problems. The study suggests that Jakarta has passed through three periods: a walking period, a transport modernisation period and a motorisation period. In the first two periods Jakarta appeared to have maintained a harmonious relationship between its high density, mixed-use urban form, ideally suited to non-motorised transport modes and to public transport. Even in the motorisation period, high density, mixed-use development has mostly followed major road corridors and remains well-suited to much higher use of public transport and non-motorised modes than currently exists. However, in this period, rapidly rising motor vehicle ownership and use began to come into conflict with the city's pre-automobile form. Road infrastructure could not be built fast enough to keep pace with traffic growth, despite almost exclusive commitment of available resources to road construction and improvement. High capacity public-transport systems, including rail and bus-ways, failed to materialise to help curb the motorisation process and to provide much needed relief on the roads. It was established that to make real progress in solving the transport problems two constraints would have to be dealt with: the present almost exclusive reliance on the traditional urban transport planning process used in all previous studies, and the institutional fragmentation in transport policy and implementation. Based on these findings, this study suggests a series of approaches to help deal with Jakarta's transport problems. In line with the global trend towards sustainability as an organising principle for urban policy development, these policies are offered within a framework of developing a more sustainable transport system in Jakarta. The policies suggested cover giving priority to facilitation of walking and cycling, development of public-transport infrastructure and transit-oriented, mixed land use, and a strong focus on management of transport demand. None of these will be achieved without institutional reform of Jakarta's transport decision-making structure

Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) comprises removed pavement materials containing high-quality aggregates and asphalt which can be recycled as materials for new pavement construction. It is removed continually for reconstruction, resurfacing, and maintenance purposes, and if not recycled will become waste. This paper determines the influence of using different RAP percentages and asphalt content in warm mix asphalt on the Marshall test results for asphalt concrete binder course (AC-BC) using Retona Blend 55. The percentages of RAP are determined by analyzing the gradation of the existing aggregates in RAP and adding virgin aggregates so that it meets the standard gradation for AC-BC specified by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The RAP percentages in the asphalt mixes in this study are 35%, 45%, and 51.55% of total aggregates, while the asphalt contents are 5%, 6%, and 7% of the total mix. To determine the influence of RAP percentage and asphalt content, and to discover if there is any influence from the interaction between these two factors, the analysis is performed using a factorial design. The results of this study show that variation in RAP percentages in the mix has no significant influence on stability, flow, and Marshall quotient, but there is significant influence on void in mineral aggregates (VMA), void in mix (VIM), and void filled with asphalt (VFA). Correlations of 97.5%, 80%, and 95.1%, respectively show that increase in RAP percentage increases VMA and VIM and decreases VFA. The interaction between RAP percentage and asphalt content has no significant influence on Marshall test results
