The current Available Bandwidth Estimation Tools (ABET's) to perform an estimation, using probes packets are inserted into the network. The utilization These packages, makes ABET's are intrusive and consumes part of which is measuring bandwidth to noise known as "Overhead Estimation Tools" (OET); it’s can produce negative effects on measurements performed by the ABET. This paper presents a complete and comparative analysis of behavior of Available Bandwidth (av_bw), of the ABET's most representative, as well as: Abing, Diettopp, Pathload, PathChirp, Traceband, IGI, PTR, Assolo and Wbest. The study with real Internet traffic, shows the percentage of test that is a factor packets affecting two main aspects of the estimation. The first, the accuracy, and increased indicating that EOT is directly proportional to the percentage of RE, reaching up to 70% in the tool evaluated with most of 30% of Cross-Traffic (CT). And second, the techniques used to send probes packets highly influences the Estimation Time (ET), where some tools that use slops spend up to 240s to converge when there is 60% CT in the network, ensuring that the estimate this technique av_bw highly congested channel, OET as much is used, resulting in inaccuracies in measurement

Recently, the Opinions Mining (OM) has shown a high tendency of research due to large-scale production of opinions and comments from users over the Internet. Companies and organizations, in general terms, are interested in knowing what is the reputation they have in social networks, blogs, wikis and other web sites. So far, the vast majority of research involving systems MO in English. For this reason, the scientific community is interested in researching different to this language. This article is about the construction of a mining system views in Spanish based on comments given by different clients and hotels. The system works on the lexical approach using Spanish adaptation of affective standards for English words (ANEW). These standards are based on evaluations conducted in the dimensions of valence, arousal and dominance. For the construction of the system took into account the phases of extraction, preprocessing of texts, identification of feelings and the respective ranking of the opinion using ANEW. System experiments were made on labeling a corpus from the Spanish version of Tripadvisor. As a result, precision exceeding 94% was obtained at similar systems

Globally, kidney disease affects about 10% of the population, and in Colombia about four million potential kidney patients. At the present, the information available for prevention and follow-up of patient treatment is insufficient. Consequently, if there is not an adequate prevention, it increases that the renal problems progress to advanced states, which implies higher health costs of the treatments. Therefore, this paper presents the design and implementation of an information system to optimize the process of performing and managing the results of renal profile tests to patients in the hospitals of the Huila department, is based on the HL7-FHIR standard (Health Level 7 - Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). As a result, a system was designed and implemented using technologies such as Java, MySQL, Java, CSS3, HTML5, among others. Finally, we concluded that the proposed information system can minimize execution times and facilitate the management of the metabolic panel examination by the team of medical assistants when a patient's results have been performed

On the reduction of the available bandwidth estimation error through clustering with K-means

    Get PDF
There are different tools to estimate the end to end available bandwidth (AB). These tools use techniques which send pairs of packets to the network and observe changes in dispersion or propagation delays to infer the value of the AB. Given the fractal nature of Internet traffic, these observations are prompt to errors affecting the accuracy of the estimation. This article presents the application of a clustering technique to reduce the estimation error due to wrong observations of the available bandwidth in the network. The clustering technique used is K-means which is applied to a tool called Traceband that is originally based on a Hidden Markov Model to perform the estimation. It is shown that using K-means in Traceband can improve its accuracy in 67.45 % when the cross traffic is about 70% of the end-to-end capacity

Current Available Bandwidth Estimation Tools (ABET) insert into the network probing packets to perform a single estimation. The utilization of these packets makes ABET intrusive and prone to errors since they consume part of the available bandwidth they are measuring. This paper presents a comparative of Overhead Estimation Tools (OET) analysis of representative ABET: Abing, Diettopp, Pathload, PathChirp, Traceband, IGI, PTR, Assolo, and Wbest. By using Internet traffic, the study shows that the insertion of probing packets is a factor that affects two metrics associated to the estimation. First, it is shown that the accuracy is affected proportionally to the amount of probing traffic. Secondly, the Estimation Time (ET) is increased in high congested end-to-end links when auto-induced congestion tools are use

the levels of radiation during the course of the day is of vital importance for all outdoor activities. Therefore, in this work we developed an ultraviolet radiation monitoring system, which allows knowing in real time the index of ultraviolet radiation in the municipality of Neiva. The system recorded the measurements made in a database and deployed through a web application; it allows knowing all present and past records captured by the system. In addition, through a mobile application this information can be accessed in real time and create alarms that alert users when the UV radiation index exceeds a predefined value by the user. Finally, in order to corroborate the reliability of the system, a validation of the system was carried out, comparing the data obtained by the designed system with the data from the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (in Spanish IDEAM) automatic weather station, generating high expectations in the operation of the designed system under normal environmental conditions
