Influence of the thermophoresis on aerosol deposition on warm urban surfaces

    No full text
International audienceIn the case of an accidental or chronic atmospheric pollution by a nuclear plant, aerosols' deposition transfer coefficients must be known. A major issue is to determine the impact of aerosols contained in the radioactive plume on urban areas with the smallest uncertainties

Very high resolution satellite images for parameterization of tree-scale forest process-based model

    Get PDF
International audienceVery high spatial resolution (VHSR) satellite images provide interesting information for parameterizing tree-scale forest process-based models, and in particular their light absorption submodels, which is at the basis of photosynthesis calculation. Such tree-scale models require a large amount of field measurements to describe the forest ecosystems, i.e. all tree positions, their sizes and shapes, their leaf areas, etc. These data are generally measured directly in the field, which can be tedious for large areas like a forest stand. In this study, we explore the possibility to parameterize such tree-scale models directly or indirectly from panchromatic and multispectral very high resolution images

In traditional vegetable farming (carrot, cauliflowers) in one coastal area, a double organization composed of cooperative and independent producers has developped. One unified cooperative has added supply coming from southern France in order to be able to sell all year long, transforming part of it into vacuum-packed vegetables in three factories. Following the lead of a militant farmer and with the help of an experimental and advising center, all the Val de Saire's farmers have taken environmenal initiatives (decrease of chemical fertilizer, rotations with cereals) and diversified their crops with leeks and salads. Brunet Pierre, Roupsard Marcel.
