Impact of touristic sustainability on satisfaction with touristic services in a world heritage city. The case of the equestrian show in Córdoba (Spain)
Purpose:
The main objective of this research is to analyze satisfaction with tourist services linked to the concept of sustainability in the context of a visit to the so-called equestrian show. The equestrian show adds values from the cultures that passed through the city. Specifically, the study focuses on tourist loyalty based on satisfaction with tourist services, satisfaction with the equestrian show and its overall quality. The fieldwork has been conducted in Córdoba, Spain. There are few studies on the relationship between tourist services linked to the concepts of sustainability and loyalty from the perspective of equestrian show management, making this a novel contribution to research.
Design/methodology/approach:
The methodology used is based on a partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach.
Findings:
To achieve the proposed objective, a structured questionnaire was used, and the results obtained confirm that satisfaction with tourist services linked to the concept of sustainability and the assessment of quality positively influence tourist loyalty. Consequently, they recommend returning to the destination and repeating the visit.
Originality/value:
Heritage in Córdoba, Spain, is internationally recognized. Its uniqueness, with four world inscriptions along with the cultures that inhabited it, left a material heritage legacy in the city. Over time, this legacy has made it a magnet for visitors, making it essential to delve into its management and how concepts such as satisfaction with tourist services, combined with sustainability, impact the improvement of the visit
Control-oriented thermal modeling methodology for water-cooled PEM fuel-cell-based systems
In this paper, a new control-oriented modeling methodology for the thermal dynamics of water-cooled Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) is presented and validated. This methodology is not only useful for control applications, but also can be used for predicting the temperature variation across the stack, allowing to monitor its operation. The methodology has been validated in a real 600-W, 20-cells, water cooled PEMFC, with encouraging results for both the stationary and the transient states. Results show that the proposed methodology is accurate and suitable for control purposes.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
A comparison of bio-inspired optimization methodologies applied to the tuning of industrial controllers
Trabajo presentado en XXXVI Convención de Centroamérica y Panamá, CONCAPAN XXXVI, noviembre de 2016.A comparison of different bio-inspired methods is presented for the problem of tuning the
parameters of a PID industrial controller for second order plus time delay plants. The compared algorithms are representative of three different kind of methodologies (evolutionary, swarm-based and ecology-based). Al methods are briefly explained and are fully implemented to solve the control problem at hand. It was found that all methods are well suited to solve the problem, but they differ in its computational cost. However in all cases, the different methodologies tested were able to find similar minimum values for different families of plantsUniversidad de Costa Rica/[322-B4-218]/UCR/Costa RicaUCR::Vicerrectoría de Docencia::Ingeniería::Facultad de Ingeniería::Escuela de Ingeniería Eléctric
Model reference pi controller tuning for second order inverse response and dead time processesand science
In this paper, a One-Degree-of-Freedom PI controller is optimized using the model reference tuning approach for a Second Order Inverse Response and Dead Time Process operating as a servo control. In addition, a graphic user interface tool that computes the PI optimized controller parameters is presented, also showing the response of the control system operating as a servo-control (the optimized one) and the associated response for the regulatory-control case.Universidad de Costa Rica/[731-B4-213]/UCR/Costa RicaUniversidad de Costa Rica/[322-B4-218]/UCR/Costa RicaConsejo Interinstitucional de Ciencia y Tecnología/[DPI2013-47825-C3-1-R]/CICYT/EspañaUCR::Vicerrectoría de Investigación::Unidades de Investigación::Ingeniería::Instituto Investigaciones en Ingeniería (INII
CARGO: a web portal to integrate customized biological information
There is a huge quantity of information generated in Life Sciences, and it is dispersed in many databases and repositories. Despite the broad availability of the information, there is a great demand for methods that are able to look for, gather and display distributed data in a standardized and friendly way. CARGO (Cancer And Related Genes Online) is a configurable biological web portal designed as a tool to facilitate, integrate and visualize results from Internet resources, independently of their native format or access method. Through the use of small agents, called widgets, supported by a Rich Internet Application (RIA) paradigm based on AJAX, CARGO provides pieces of minimal, relevant and descriptive biological information. The tool is designed to be used by experimental biologists with no training in bioinformatics. In the current state, the system presents a list of human cancer genes. Multi-objective optimal tuning of two degrees of freedom PID controllers using the ENNC method
In this paper the Enhanced Normalized Normal Constrained method is applied to find the optimal tuning of second order PID controllers. This tuning takes into account both the servo and regulatory modes simultaneously, as well as a closed loop robustness criterion. The methodology is successfully applied to a high order linear plant and to a non linear continuous stirred tank reactor model, showing the effectiveness of the optimization methodology to solve control related problems. Also, the method is applied to a benchmark control system that takes into account three different sources of disturbances.Universidad de Costa Rica [Vicerrectoría de Investigación de la Universidad de Costa Rica.] 322-B4-218UCR::Vicerrectoría de Investigación::Unidades de Investigación::Ingeniería::Instituto Investigaciones en Ingeniería (INII)UCR::Vicerrectoría de Docencia::Ingeniería::Facultad de Ingeniería::Escuela de Ingeniería Eléctric
