Connotation and Language culture

Among an array of language skills, which students should obtain during their university education, there are translating skills that will help them to fully comprehend their potential and will promote their knowledge, academic and research mobility. This paper addresses the problem of training and improvement of students’ translating skills and its targets are to reveal peculiarities of non-equivalent vocabulary and transferring from one language into another without distorting reality and without losing characteristics of language society. The leading approach to research is problem – thematic. The main results of research are in systematization of methods of translation. Problems and prospects of human capital development in modern Russia

Purpose: In the context of dynamically changing modern labor market there is a need to develop a model of congruence and correlation of the process of building professional competencies provided by educational standards. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was performed using monographic, abstract logical, sociological and statistical methods. However, this approach does not imply the formation of supra-professional competencies, which generally predetermine the success of professional tasks performed by a specialist. Findings: The article discusses the role of human capital as a fundamental factor affecting the increase in the competitiveness of production. Practical implications: The study focusses on the most demanded competencies for the development of digital society. The authors have grouped countries by level of human capital use. Originality/Value: At present, the appropriate parameters for measuring professional and general cultural competencies have been adopted as a system for assessing the quality of education in general and the quality of specialist training.peer-reviewe

Потребление микропластика рыбами с различным пищевым поведением в реках Обь и Енисей

Microplastic particles in the size range 0.15 to 5.00 mm were quantified and characterised in the gastrointestinal tracts of three wild freshwater fish (n = 141) from the Ob and Yenisei rivers, including common ruffe (Gymnocephalus cernua L.), Siberian dace (Leuciscus baicalensis Dybowski) and European perch (Perca fluviatilis L.). Microplastics were found in the gastrointestinal tract of 62% of the fish examined, ranging from 18.5% in the Yenisei perch sample to 92.6% in the Ob ruffe sample. The vast majority of microplastics in all fish species were fibres (up to 99.7% of all particles detected in perch), followed by irregularly shaped fragments (up to 22.7% in ruffe), with no preference between the three species. Spheres and films were found exclusively in dace and ruffe, with proportions of 3.7% and 1.2% respectively. Particles consisted of polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, polyamide and other synthetic polymers with a significant proportion of highly degraded polymers. The mean MP content in fish GITs ranged from 0.44 ± 0.25 items per individual in Yenisei perch to 3.81 ± 0.55 items per individual in Ob ruffe. Particle burdens in fish were significantly higher in the Ob than in the Yenisei (p dace (omnivorous) > perch (hunter) in both rivers (p < 0.01). This study was the first to quantify MP consumption by freshwater fish of different species in the Ob and Yenisei rivers and to identify patterns associated with different feeding habits

Anemia of chronic diseases in patients with dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy

Aim. To estimate the effect of anemia of chronic diseases on the processes of cardiovascular system remodeling in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy and ischemic cardiomyopathy. Methods. The study included 27 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy with anemia, 19 with dilated cardiomyopathy without anemia, 11 with ischemic cardiomyopathy with anemia, 34 with ischemic cardiomyopathy without anemia, and 30 healthy individuals. In these comparison groups, peripheral blood, mean corpuscular hemoglobin and mean cell hemoglobin concentration, reticulocytes, serum iron and ferritin were examined. Electrocardiography, echocardiography, scintigraphy and coronary angiography were performed. Results. In all groups identical signs of chronic heart failure class 3 and 4 were found to be predominant, which was confirmed by a significant decrease of blood pressure, stroke volume, ejection fraction, increase of end systolic and diastolic volumes and sizes, as well as left and right atrial size. Patients with dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy with anemia had decreased hemoglobin, number of erythrocytes and platelets, positive correlation between hemoglobin and serum iron (r=0.49, p=0.000), red blood cells and ferritin (r=0.61, p=0.000), negative correlation between hemoglobin and ferritin (r=-0.51, p=0.02). In ischemic cardiomyopathy with anemia positive correlation was found between hemoglobin and serum iron (r=0.54, p=0.000), erythrocytes and ferritin (r=0.49, p=0.03), negative correlation - between hemoglobin and ferritin (r=0.54, p=0.03). Conclusion. In patients with dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy no significant effect of anemia of chronic diseases on heart remodeling processes was revealed

Comprehensive characterization of molecular interactions based on nanomechanics

Molecular interaction is a key concept in our understanding of the biological mechanisms of life. Two physical properties change when one molecular partner binds to another. Firstly, the masses combine and secondly, the structure of at least one binding partner is altered, mechanically transducing the binding into subsequent biological reactions. Here we present a nanomechanical micro-array technique for bio-medical research, which not only monitors the binding of effector molecules to their target but also the subsequent effect on a biological system in vitro. This label-free and real-time method directly and simultaneously tracks mass and nanomechanical changes at the sensor interface using micro-cantilever technology. To prove the concept we measured lipid vesicle (approximately 748*10(6) Da) adsorption on the sensor interface followed by subsequent binding of the bee venom peptide melittin (2840 Da) to the vesicles. The results show the high dynamic range of the instrument and that measuring the mass and structural changes simultaneously allow a comprehensive discussion of molecular interactions

Hemocoagulation Activity of Sulfur-Containing Pinane-Type Terpenoids

© 2017, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC. A series of pinane-type sulfides and sulfoxides were synthesized from (1S)-(–)-β-pinene. Their hemocoagulation activity in vitro on human blood plasma was studied. All tested compounds exhibited antiaggregation and anticoagulation activity. The most water-soluble sulfoxide with a mercaptoacetic acid moiety inhibited spontaneous platelet aggregation and that induced by collagen and arachidonic acid and also reduced the coagulation activity of human blood plasma. The hemocoagulation activity was due to selective inhibition of platelet receptors, decreased yield of thrombocytic microvesicles, and suppression of their activity
