    Atributos relevantes no transporte de granéis agrícolas: preferência declarada pelos embarcadores

    The objective of this study was to identify the relevant attributes of the services offered for the transporter, under the point of view of the shipper. The understanding of the preferences of the users of the transport services is important for the identification of the necessities and developments waited in the market. The relevant attributes had been raised under the bedding technician of the declared preference, in the form of ranking, using the method of confusing in the application of the cards to the shippers of grains in the state of the Paraná. The results had signaled for a significant concern with the fulfillment of contracts with customers and commitments in the ports and ships. As it could be evidenced, the shippers reflect the concern of the precariousness of the infrastructure, searching more guarantees of that the contracted service is fulfilled. As the attribute in the preference of the shippers was the performance consistency, that also has relation with these concerns, wanting to say that the given service must have a regular performance with small variance.     Este artigo tenciona apresentar pontos importantes, sobre a implantação do alcoolduto no Paraná, no que se refere aos aspectos logísticos. O problema proposto para a análise é: a implantação do alcoolduto influenciará no setor sucroalcooleiro no Estado, no que tange à logística do álcool e à competitividade das usinas do Paraná? A metodologia utilizada foi de pesquisa descritiva e exploratória, incluindo entrevistas com pessoas relacionadas à temática do alcoolduto no Estado. A conclusão a que se chegou aponta para a viabilidade do alcoolduto no Paraná, contribuindo sobremaneira para a expansão das exportações e competitividade do setor sucroalcooleiro no Estado e no Brasil. Estima-se que o custo de FOB caia até 16 vezes.------------------------------------------------------This article intends to make important points, on the deployment of alcohol duct in Paraná, as regards the logistical aspects.     The Passo Fundo cohort study : design of a population-based observational study of women in premenopause, menopausal transition, and postmenopause

    Background: The Passo Fundo Cohort Study (PFS) is a population-based longitudinal observational study of pre-, peri-, and postmenopausal women that has been ongoing since 1995 in Passo Fundo, a city in southern Brazil. This paper describes the rationale and design of the PFS and summarizes objectives and procedures that have been updated during follow-up. Methods/Design: Women in the PFS have been followed for a variety of diseases that are frequent in menopause. Sampling was conducted in 154 randomly selected census divisions (geographical subdivisions of the city as defined by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). One block in each census division was chosen by lot and two women were randomly selected for interview in each block. The first cycle, conducted between 1995 and 1997, included a representative sample of 298 women aged 35 to 55 years. In the second cycle, conducted between 2001 and 2002, additional participants were enrolled based on the same sampling strategy used in 1995, for a final sample of 358 women In 2010, a third follow-up was initiated, when all 358 participants or their relatives were located. Participants completed a standardized questionnaire on demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. They also answered questions about lifestyle, medical and reproductive characteristics, sexual life, hormone therapy and mental aspects by using validated instruments. Physical activity was assessed and anthropometric measurements, blood sampling and pelvic ultrasound examination were performed. In the third cycle, bone mineral density by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and abdominal fat and coronary artery calcium score by computed tomography were also determined. Discussion: The study findings provide relevant information to evaluate the association between menopausal status, female aging and the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and bone health aspects in a representative sample of women from southern Brazil

    Atratividade e polarização nas mesorregiões do Estado do Paraná

    Este artigo analisa a atratividade e a polarização nas mesorregiões do Estado do Paraná. Como ferramentas metodológicas, foram utilizados o modelo gravitacional e o índice de Hirschman-Herfindahl, para mensurar a atração e a concentração das atividades produtivas nas mesorregiões. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram que as cidades-pólo de cada mesorregião são mais atrativas e concentradoras das atividades produtivas. A sua capacidade de atração aumentou no período estudado demonstrando que a polarização se fortaleceu na economia paranaense

    Este artigo teve o objetivo de analisar comparativamente as cooperativas da região Oeste do Paraná, especificamente em seus setores de transportes. Como referencial teórico são abordadas informações referentes a cooperativas, transportes e Nova Economia Institucional (NEI). A metodologia utilizada foi de estudo de caso, com visitas a três cooperativas da região Oeste do Paraná, e entrevistas às pessoas responsáveis pelos transportes dessas cooperativas. As questões realizadas foram relacionadas à frota (própria, terceirizada, quantidade de veículos), produtos que recebe e comercializa, percentual de mercado interno e externo, atributos analisados quando da seleção da transportadora, entre outras. Como resultado, observou-se que as cooperativas são diferentes em seu mercado de produtos, mas possuem formas semelhantes de atuação em transportes, possuindo parte da frota própria e a restante terceirizada. Também as formas de escolha de transportadoras, analisando atributos como freqüência, especificidade de ativos e incerteza, são considerados ao realizar a contratação

    CONTRIBUIÇÕES DA GESTÃO PARA A REDUÇÃO DA EVASÃO EM CURSOS A DISTÂNCIA

    Neste trabalho, relata-se uma pesquisa de campo desenvolvida através da aplicação de questionários, realizada com alunos de três cursos de Pós-graduação ministrados na modalidade a distância, por uma Instituição de Ensino Superior de Brasília. Foram analisadas contribuições da gestão para a redução da evasão em cursos a distância e a importância da afetividade desenvolvida entre os atores de um curso, no processo. Dentre alguns aspectos analisados, constatou-se que ações que privilegiam a interação dos estudantes com seus respectivos colegas e professores e promovem o sentimento de “pertencer” ao grupo, podem desenvolver vínculos afetivos e estimular a permanência do mesmo até o final do curso. As respostas permitem afirmar que as ferramentas utilizadas no ambiente virtual de aprendizagem Moodle, assim como o material pedagógico são de grande importância para a manutenção do aluno até o término do curso. No entanto, as ações de uma gestão preocupada com a satisfação dos estudantes em conjunto com o professor e focada na interação e mediação são fatores preponderantes entre os demais

    Expectativas de Moradores de Ouro Verde de Goiás sobre a Chegada da Ferrovia Norte Sul no Município

    This study investigates the expectations and knowledge of Ouro Verde de Goiás residents about the arrival of North-South Railroad (FNS) in the city. A descriptive cross-sectional study was developed in Ouro Verde de Goiás, located 10.1 km from the FNS iron bed, based on a representative sample of 81 subjects. The data collection was obtained from 02/2011 - 08/2012. In the place of residence of the participants: 17.3% resided in the area directly affected by the railroad (100 meters from the railway line) and 82.7 % in the area directly influenced by the same (5-10 km from each side)...Esse estudo buscou analisar as expectativas e o conhecimento de moradores de área rural e urbana de Ouro Verde de Goiás sobre a chegada da Ferrovia Norte Sul (FNS) no município. Foi desenvolvido um estudo transversal descritivo em Ouro Verde de Goiás, localizado a 10,1 Km do leito férreo da FNS, com amostra probabilística de 81 sujeitos. A coleta de dados ocorreu de 02/2011 – 08/2012. Quanto ao local de residência dos participantes: 17,3% residiam em área diretamente afetada pela ferrovia (a 100m da linha férrea) e 82,7% em área diretamente influenciada (de 5-10 km da linha férrea)..
