An evaluation of cultural roles and usability attributes in learning management system
The purpose of this exploratory study was to explore the relationship between cultural dimensions and the usability attributes of a learning system management (myLMS) in Open University Malaysia
Harnessing Learners' Insight of Online Courses and Learning Management System
The frequency of online courses using web-based learning has continued to increase in
terms of demand and access. However the effectiveness of online courses particularly in
relation to individual learners’ needs, perceptions, performance and outcomes are
sometimes being questioned. To support for a successful learning system, this study will
harness learners’ insight of online courses and learners’ use of learning management
system (LMS). Much of this study is based on learner insights of the quality and quantity
of their interactions and learning experiences using LMS and social presence in online
courses. Only by understanding learners’ insights can we develop strategies or
guidelines for creating a more inclusive and effective LMS and online courses. This
study was conducted on 224 respondents from the Faculty of Information Technology
and Multimedia Communication, Open University Malaysia. This study allows for
learners’ feedback and an opportunity for the institution to improve the learning system
and nurture e-learning. (Authors' abstract
Success factors affecting the healthcare professionals to utilize cloud computing services
Integrating the new technologies to improve the healthcare services can be seen as one of the research trends nowadays, as earlier studies have recommended the potential of emerging technologies in enhancing healthcare service practices by means of providing more opportunities to carry out activities essential for prevention, diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of the disease. Involving the cloud computing services in healthcare domain can offer a way for handling and maintaining health data by making use of software applications hosted on the Internet. To ensure successful cloud computing utilization, a pre-examination on the context of usage should be applied in order to collect the real needs to guarantee getting all the possible benefits of this technology. In Iraq, the health records of public hospitals consist of various types of data which continue to increase in velocity, volume, and variety progressively. This has led to several major issues to the health sectors from two perspectives, data complexity and low IT integrity. For that reason, managing and maintaining all these health data are essential to healthcare organizations. In this paper, we collected the success factors that may influence the healthcare professionals to utilize cloud computing services for the health sector in Iraq. This is done by conducting an interview with 30 physicians and technicians from four hospitals in Iraq, then a literature survey was carried out to verify that all the gathered factors are within the circumstance of healthcare. It has been found that eight factors may affect the perspective of healthcare professionals to utilize cloud computing services. Finally, a conceptual model was developed based on the findings

Success Factors for e-Learning Satisfaction during COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown
The research investigates effect of IT characteristicsfactors on students’ e-learning satisfaction during the period of COVID 19 pandemic lockdown. Selected factors of IT characteristics are IT complexity, IT pace change and IT presenteeism. The study also investigatesmediating role of perceived value as a second order construct comprising of perceived ease of use, perceived behavioural control and perceived usefulness. The data was collected from 470 student sample selected using convenience sampling through online questionnaire in Malaysia during Movement Control Order (lockdown) period when universities moved classes to online learning platforms. The data was then subjected to purification, normality and reliability assessment followed by confirmatory factor analysis, validity assessment and finally structural equation modelling using IBM SPSS AMOS 24.0. The findings show that all three factors have significant impact on e-learning satisfaction. IT complexity has the most prominent impact on e-learning satisfaction among selected variables. In addition, perceived value fully mediates relationship among all three independent variables and learning satisfaction. Implications, limitations and future research avenues are then discussed
A Model of Electronic Customer Relationship Management System Adoption In Telecommunication Companies
Employee satisfaction is key to electronic–customer relationship management (E-CRM) systems in telecommunication companies. The purpose of this study is to investigate the direct and indirect effect of technological factors, individual factors, and organizational factors on employees' level of satisfaction. For this study, data was collected from 300 employees' workings in Malaysian telecommunication companies; and the data was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings revealed that technological, organizational, and individual factors are positively and significantly related to satisfaction and perceived usefulness. The results also supported the direct and positive relationship between perceived usefulness between employees' job satisfaction. The study has contributed to the body of literature by exploring the implications of various significant factors in terms of employee satisfaction. Besides, the management of the telecommunication companies may benefit from this study by adopting strategies that not only employee satisfaction but may also enhance the companies' performance. The limitations and the direction for future research are discussed in the end
Modelling the enterprise architecture implementation in the public sector using HOT-Fit framework
Enterprise architecture is very important to the public sector's IT systems that are developed, organized, scaled up, maintained and strategized. Despite an extensive literature, the research of enterprise architecture is still at the early stage in public the sector and the reason to explain the acceptance, as well as the understanding of the implementation level of EA services still remains unclear. Therefore, this study examines the implementation of EA by measuring the Malaysian public sector's influence factors of EA. Grounded by the Human-Organization-Technology (HOT-Fit) Model, this study proposes a conceptual framework by decomposing Human characteristics, Organizational characteristics and Technological characteristics as main categories in assessing the identified factors. A total of 92 respondents in the Malaysian public sector participated in this study. Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Square is the main statistical technique used in this study. The study has revealed that human characteristics such as knowledge and innovativeness to EA and technological characteristics such as relative advantage and complexity of EA influence its implementation by the Malaysian public sector. Based on the findings, the theoretical and practical implications of the study as well as limitations and future works are also discussed
An Investigation on the Relationship Between e-Learning Usability Attributes Towards Motivation to Learn
This paper reports the research of the empirical evaluation of e-learning usability attributes towards motivation
to learn among Open University Malaysia (OUM) learners.
Factors such as learners' diversity, technological variety and learners’ knowledge gap in using e-learning are
some of the significant universal usability challenges need to be considered when conducting the e-learning
usability evaluation. Pedagogical usability also need to be considered while developing e-learning application.
Traditional usability measures of effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction and cognitive learning factors are no
longer adequate for newer contexts of e-learning usage. It is critical that e-learning developers assess affective
dimension, in which the learners may experience while interacting with e-learning. To this end, motivation to
learn, which is one of the affective aspect, has been identified as a new usability measurement. A theoretical
framework has been developed to investigate the relationship between e-learning usability attributes and
learning motivation
Does e-learning usability attributes correlate with learning motivation?
This paper reports the method and results of the empirical evaluation of e-learning usability attributes towards motivation to learn among Open University Malaysia (OUM) learners
