Prospek Sumber Daya Arkeologi Prasejarah Pulau Rote Ndao dalam Konteks Pengembangan Kawasan Perbatasan

Abstract. The potential of cultural heritage especially prehistoric sites along the karst hills on Rote island has significant value in the context of understanding and knowledge about archeology in East Nusa Tenggara. Cave sites in Rote island were started to be inhabited since the late Pleistocene and early Holocene, based on the presence of human settlement traces found in the caves and niches. Another historical evidence was a bronze axe which showed that Rote Island was a strategic region on Paleometalic era. The fragments of potteries, flakes, animal bones, dan mollusc shells found in the area sprang some questions if this area was used only as a settlement or had any other purposes. The aim of this research is to reveal the archaeological resources owned by the island, along with its geological condition. The method applied in this study is using field observation (survey) followed by excavation on prehistory sites that represent Rote Ndao human settlements. Numerous lithic artifacts were gathered for reasearch data, such as flakes, pottery, and mollusc shell and bone deposits. These data about prehistoric karst in Rote Ndao island have important value to reveal the migration path, particularly its geographic position as the foremost island and borderline region between East Timor and Australia. Abstrak. Potensi warisan budaya terutama situs-situs prasejarah di sepanjang bukit-bukit karst di Pulau Rote memiliki nilai penting dalam konteks pemahaman dan pengetahuan arkeologi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Situs-situs gua karst di Pulau Rote, dimulai pada masa akhir Pleistosen dan awal Holosen dengan adanya jejak-jejak hunian manusia di gua dan ceruk. Bukti historis lainnya adanya temuan kapak perunggu yang menunjukkan bahwa Pulau Rote merupakan wilayah yang strategis pada era paleometalik. Ditemukannya berbagai jenis pecahan tembikar, serpih dan fragmen tulang fauna, sisa-sisa makanan moluska menimbulkan beberapa pertanyaan terhadap lokasi ini di masa lalu, apakah situs ini memiliki fungsi hunian semata, ataukah mempunyai fungsi lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkap sumberdaya arkeologi beserta kondisi geologi yang dimiliki Pulau Rote. Metode yang digunakan yaitu melakukan observasi lapangan (survei) dan dilanjutkan dengan ekskavasi terhadap situs yang memiliki indikasi kuat sebagai hunian prasejarah Rote dan dianggap mewakili situs hunian prasejarah Rote Ndao. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh sejumlah data artefak litik berupa alat-alat serpih, tembikar dan deposit cangkang moluska dan tulang. Potensi data arkeologi (prasejarah karst) Pulau Rote Ndao memiliki nilai penting untuk mengungkap jalur migrasi, terutama posisi geografinya sebagai pulau terdepan dan wilayah perbatasan antara Timor Leste dan Australia

Constructing the Tolerance in Interreligious Families for Making Peaceful and Harmony Life in Pancasila Village of Lamongan

This study examines peaceful and harmonious life through the construction of tolerance in interreligious families. So, the research focuses on how interreligious families construct tolerance to make making peaceful and harmonious life in Pancasila village of Lamongan. To answer the focus, this study uses qualitative research with a post-positivistic phenomenological approach and analyzes the data using Spreadly’s model. This study found that: (1) the interreligious families externalized the tolerance by utilizing their stocks of knowledge, previous experiences, and common sense of knowledge; (2) the interreligious families objectivize the tolerance by making public discourse and doing intersubjectively interpretation of tolerance. Then, they institutionalized and habituated the tolerance into their lives and surroundings. Afterwards, they traditionalized and passed the tolerance onto the next generation; and, iii) the interreligious families internalized the tolerance into themselves. However, in this process, they do not absorb the (existing) tolerance only but redefine, recontextualize and redefine it before re-externalizing tolerance

Makna Simbolik Haji dalam Perspektif Masyarakat Bugis

Simbol haji menunjukkan corak dengan berbagai interpretasi makna yang akan melekat pada masyarakat Bugis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan makna simbolik haji dalam perspektif masyarakat Bugis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan interaksi simbolik. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan empat makna dalam simbolik haji. Pertama adalah konsep takdir di mana takdir menjadi penentu bagi masyarakat Bugis untuk pergi Haji. Kedua, kesuksesan hidup yang dimaknai bahwa rezeki seseorang dimudahkan jika ia sudah berhaji. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan pandangan Ritual Kematian yang disebut Mattampung bagi masyarakat bugis Barru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasi peneltian ini mengungkapkan bahwa  masyarakat di Kecamatan Soppeng Riaja memiliki cara pandang yang beragam dalam melihat ritual Mattampung ini, ada yang pro dan ada pula yang kontra. Masing-masing mereka memiliki acuan dan alasan yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan dari sisi keilmuannya. Bagi masyarakat yang pro atau yang mendukung ritual ini mengatakan bahwa ritual Mattampung boleh-boleh saja dilakukan karena sudah menjadi kesepakatan didalamnya mengandung nilai-nilai kebaikan yang berkaitan erat dengan perintah agama dalam hal ini adalah agama Islam. Bagi masyarakat yang menganggap kontra, Karena ritual Mattampung dianggap oleh sebagian masyarakat menyimpang dari ajaran Islam dan tidak pernah dilakukan oleh Rasulullah. Rain Effect Frequency of Infiltration Rate and Infiltration Capacity in Common Soil: Laboratory Test with Rainfall Simulator

Analyzing the Influence of Rain Frequency Infiltration Rate and Infiltration Capacity in Common Soil Type (Laboratory Testing Study With Rainfall Simulator). Infiltration is the flow of water into the ground through the soil surface. This process is a very important part of the hydrological cycle and in the process of transferring rain into the flow of water in the soil before reaching the river. Infiltration (infiltration rate and capacity) is influenced by various variables, including soil type, slope inclination, density and type of vegetation, soil moisture content, and rainfall intensity. This study aims to determine the effect of rainfall frequency on the infiltration rate and infiltration capacity on common soil types. This research is a type of laboratory experimental research, using rainfall simulator tool. The soil used in this study is common soil type. Furthermore, artificial rain was provided with intensity I5, I15, and I25 and performed infiltration rate reading on the Drain Rainfall Simulator. The rate and capacity of infiltration in common soils increase proportionally to the increased intensity of rainfall, the higher the intensity of rainfall the higher the infiltration occurring at the same level of rain frequency. Model Pengembangan Formula Rubber Membrane Filter Press

This reseach aimed to find the formula for rubber membrane filter press as substitution of imported ones.The treatment were kaolin (45, 50, 53, and coconut shell charcoal as a filler. The results showed that rubber membrane filter press-M3 had better chemical and physical properties than imported rubber membrane filter press. Test results for the rubber membrane filter press-M3 showed hardness value 126 shore A; tensile strength 173 kg/cm2 ; tensile strength of 200% with a value of 51 kg/cm2; elongation at break of 869%, tear resistance 119 kg/cm2 ; gravity of 1.992 g/cm2 and abrasion resistance DIN 210.6 mm2. The test results of rubber membrane filter press (M3) shows the development of the formula, kaolin derived from Bangka Island and coconut shell charcoal is added as a filler in rubber formula membrane filter press to improve the physical properties and gives a tendency to increase the bond between the rubber membrane-forming molecules filter press
