A facile synthesis of rare-earth free using boron carbon oxynitride (BCNO) phosphor material for security ink has been investigate. BCNO were synthesize by low temperature microwave heating methods, with H3BO3, citric acid and urea to be used as boron, carbon and nitrogen source, respectively. Then, the BCNO nanocrystals were disperse in water-polymer based solution until they became evenly spreading and turn into security ink without rare earth metals. The photoluminescence (PL) and UV-Visible spectroscopy were use to characterize the optical properties of BCNO and the security ink. The characterization results showed that BCNO and the security ink had similar PL properties (PL Peak and PL Peak Intensity). In addition, the UV-Vis spectra proved that the security ink had electronic properties such as being semiconductors based phosphor materials. The results indicate that BCNO phosphor material can be potentially be developed as rare-earth free security inks, and other applications such as optoelectronic, white LED, lighting, etc

Security ink using a carbon nanoparticle (C-dot)/PVA/chitosan-composite-based material has been successfully synthesized. The C-dot powder was prepared using a urea pyrolysis method. The precursors were synthesized using urea ((NH2)2CO, Mw  =  60.07 g mol−1) and citric acid (C6H8O7bold dotH2O, Mw  =  210.14 g mol−1) as the fuel and carbon sources, respectively. The C-dots were prepared by heating the precursor solution at 250 °C for 90 min. The security ink was fabricated using C-dots, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, (CH2CH(OH)) n , with Mw  =  ~20 000 g mol−1) and chitosan as the dyes, resins and binders, respectively. The morphology and optical properties of the security ink were measured using SEM and EDX, a PL spectrometer and UV–vis spectroscopy. The viscosity properties of the security ink were measured using a viscometer. The characterization showed that the C-dots have a monodisperse particle size, a tetragonal structure and absorption spectra in the UV light region. It is shown that the PVA:chitosan concentration has a significant effect on the viscosity properties, so the viscosity is optimized for the security ink. In addition, the security ink was studied using a commercial printer, and the results show a good quality blue emission (450 nm) appearing under UV light exposure at 365 nm. The security ink C-dot/PVA/chitosan composite has potential applications in security, panel display, optoelectronic and optical devices on an industrial scale

In this paper, we report on a homemade optical spectrometer using diffraction grating and image processing techniques. This device was designed to produce spectral images that could then be processed by measuring signal strength (pixel intensity) to obtain the light source, transmittance, and absorbance spectra of the liquid sample. The homemade optical spectrometer consisted of: (i) a white LED as a light source, (ii) a cuvette or sample holder, (iii) a slit, (iv) a diffraction grating, and (v) a CMOS camera (webcam). In this study, various concentrations of a carbon nanoparticle (CNP) colloid were used in the particle size sample test. Additionally, a commercial optical spectrometer and tunneling electron microscope (TEM) were used to characterize the optical properties and morphology of the CNPs, respectively. The data obtained using the homemade optical spectrometer, commercial optical spectrometer, and TEM showed similar results and trends. Lastly, the calculation and measurement of CNP size were performed using the effective mass approximation (EMA) and TEM. These data showed that the average nanoparticle sizes were approximately 2.4 nm and 2.5 ± 0.3 nm, respectively. This research provides new insights into the development of a portable, simple, and low-cost optical spectrometer that can be used in nanomaterial characterization for physics undergraduate instruction

ZnAl2O4: Mn4+ particle were synthesize using co-precipitation using NaOH and PVA as precipitating agent and surfactants, followed by microwave-assisted thermal treatment. The morphology properties and absorption spectral of particles were investigate using SEM and UV-Vis spectrometer. The results showed that the ZnAl2O4 particles has a spinel structure with various particle size. Absorption spectral exhibits that particle has a potential photo catalytic properties at visible light spectra, especially for the pollutant degradation

This study describes the curriculum, the state of the teacher, students, infrastructure, learning process and the condition or improvement of the education quality in Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) in Sukabumi after accreditation. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical methods. Primary data sources are obtained from interviews, observations, and document studies. Data analysis is done by organizing data, describing it into units, synthesizing, to test the validity of the researcher using triangulation techniques. The results achieved from this research are: MDTA education curriculum is divided into two kinds; namely the local curriculum that is still partial and the curriculum of the government which is theoretically sufficient and in accordance with the provisions of the standard curriculum and starts to be used after the first accreditation. The state of the teacher is quite sufficient with diverse academic qualifications and the owned competencies are good enough and support the process of education and learning. Student conditions are in accordance with the rules and characteristics required. In general the quality of MDTA education has increased. When the ideal education quality measure for MDTA is the accreditation score of A, then by comparing the accreditation results in 2006, 2009 and 2013 there is an increase, namely by comparing the results of the accreditation, where in 2006 the percentage of MDTA whose accreditation score was A was about 14%, 2009 by 20% and in 2013 by 37%. The final conclusion is that the process of accreditation and its follow-up efforts can improve the quality of MDTA education

In this study, we have synthesized and applied the activated carbon fibbers from pyrolyzed cotton to adsorp fume pollutants. The activated carbon fibbers from cotton were synthesized using an oven with simple heating method at low carbonization temperature. The cotton was successfully turned into carbon within four hours at carbonization temperature of 250oC. The reults showed that activation process using KOH and NaOH significantly affected the functional groups, morphology, diameter, and porosity of the activated carbon fibbers

Free fall motion in air medium is only influenced by gravitation acceleration. However, there are several variables that caused the observations to be different with the concept. Variables, such as air drag and terminal velocity, are often teachers not presented in detail, causing misconceptions. This study aims to develop a simple experiment on free fall motion by identifying air drag and terminal velocity. The data in this study is the video of free fall motion of paper and scraper analyzed using Tracker video analyze. From the video analyzed, information is obtained in the form of time (t), track (l, θ), and velocity (v) of the object. This study shows that the air drag force increase unto the terminal velocity. The calculation of the drag coefficient giving the number of the paper 2,16 and the scraper 2,10. According to data analyzed, the air drag force is affected by the mass (m), area (A), and the air drag force (FD) with the linear correlation until it reaches the terminal velocity. The result of this study may use as references of free fall motion experiment with other objects and analyze
