The induced 2-tuple linguistic generalized OWA operator and its application in linguistic decision making

    Get PDF
We present the induced 2-tuple linguistic generalized ordered weighted averaging (2-TILGOWA) operator. This new aggregation operator extends previous approaches by using generalized means, order-inducing variables in the reordering of the arguments and linguistic information represented with the 2-tuple linguistic approach. Its main advantage is that it includes a wide range of linguistic aggregation operators. Thus, its analyses can be seen from different perspectives and we obtain a much more complete picture of the situation considered and are able to select the alternative that best fits with with our interests or beliefs. We further generalize the operator by using quasi-arithmetic means, and obtain the Quasi-2-TILOWA operator. We conclude this paper by analysing the applicability of this new approach in a decision-making problem concerning product management.linguistic decision making, linguistic generalized mean, 2-tuple linguistic owa operator, 2-tuple linguistic aggregation operator

The generalized index of maximum and minimum level and its application in decision making

    Get PDF
The index of maximum and minimum level is a very useful technique, especially for decision making, which uses the Hamming distance and the adequacy coefficient in the same problem. In this paper, we suggest a generalization by using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means. As a result, we will get the generalized ordered weighted averaging index of maximum and minimum level (GOWAIMAM) and the Quasi-OWAIMAAM operator. These new aggregation operators generalize a wide range of particular cases such as the generalized index of maximum and minimum level (GIMAM), the OWAIMAM, the ordered weighted quadratic averaging IMAM (OWQAIMAM), and others. We also develop an application of the new approach in a decision making problem about selection of products.generalized mean, index of maximum and minimum level, quasi-arithmetic mean, decision making, owa operator

Approximation to the theory of affinities to manage the problems of the groupping process

    Get PDF
New economic and enterprise needs have increased the interest and utility of the methods of the grouping process based on the theory of uncertainty. A fuzzy grouping (clustering) process is a key phase of knowledge acquisition and reduction complexity regarding different groups of objects. Here, we considered some elements of the theory of affinities and uncertain pretopology that form a significant support tool for a fuzzy clustering process. A Galois lattice is introduced in order to provide a clearer vision of the results. We made an homogeneous grouping process of the economic regions of Russian Federation and Ukraine. The obtained results gave us a large panorama of a regional economic situation of two countries as well as the key guidelines for the decision-making. The mathematical method is very sensible to any changes the regional economy can have. We gave an alternative method of the grouping process under uncertainty

Impact of emerging technologies in banking and finance in Europe: A volatility spillover and contagion approach

    Get PDF
The empirical evidence suggests that stock returns in the emerging technology environment exhibit high stock return volatility. The fundamental aim of the article is to investigate the dynamic, time series properties of the correlations between daily log returns and magnitude of the volatility transmissions from the emerging technologies environment to the Spanish banking sector, the Spanish market portfolio and the finance industry in the EU area. Using daily log returns for the performance variables and an equally weighted index was constructed as proxy to represent the emerging technology phenomena covering a period from the 7th of July of 2015 to the 20th of September of 2019. The study applies generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity GARCH followed by the diagonal BEKK approach (...

Decision making techniques with similarity measures and OWA operators

We analyse the use of the ordered weighted average (OWA) in decision-making giving special attention to business and economic decision-making problems. We present several aggregation techniques that are very useful for decision-making such as the Hamming distance, the adequacy coefficient and the index of maximum and minimum level. We suggest a new approach by using immediate weights, that is, by using the weighted average and the OWA operator in the same formulation. We further generalize them by using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means. We also analyse the applicability of the OWA operator in business and economics and we see that we can use it instead of the weighted average. We end the paper with an application in a business multi-person decision-making problem regarding production management

The permanence of the client under uncertain estimations

    Get PDF
Marketing has studied the permanence of a client within an enterprise because it is a key element in the study of the value (economic) of the client (CLV). The research that they have developed is based in deterministic or random models, which allowed estimating the permanence of the client, and the CLV. However, when it is not possible to apply these schemes for not having the panel data that this model requires, the period of time of a client with the enterprise is uncertain data. We consider that the value of the current work is to have an alternative way to estimate the period of time with subjective information proper of the theory of uncertainty

A Microbiology Application of the Skew-Laplace Distribution

Flow cytometry scatter are ofen used in microbiology, and their measures are related to bacteria size and granularity. We present an application of the skew-Laplace distribution to flow cytometry data. The goodness of fit is evaluated both graphically and numerically. We also study skewness and kurtosis values to assess usefulness of the skew-Laplace distribution

Fifty years of fuzzy research: A bibliometric analysis and a long-term comparative overview

    Get PDF
This paper presents a general overview and a long-term comparison in fuzzy logic research published between 1965 and 2017, obtained via Web of Science. The paper analyzes the growth, impact, trends and regional localization of fuzzy re-search. Conventional, sophisticated among others bibliometric indicators have applies. It aggregates the information according to different levels and criteria including researchers, publications, institutions, or countries. A global perspective have been provided through comparisons of regional aggregates and compound annual growth rates that strengthen the indicators applied in this article. The results permit to visualize the influence, importance, evolution and performance of the fuzzy research as well its contribution to, and transversality with other fields. The findings show that China continues to be a leader in number of contributions. There has been a recent relative decline in the United States contributions overall. Asian and African contribu-tions to scientific literature have grown noticeably. The results also provide a framework for the use of indicators adjusted to specific contexts and relevant information for future research

    OWA Operators in Generalized Distances

Different types of aggregation operators such as the ordered weighted quasi-arithmetic mean (Quasi-OWA) operator and the normalized Hamming distance are studied. We introduce the use of the OWA operator in generalized distances such as the quasi-arithmetic distance. We will call these new distance aggregation the ordered weighted quasi-arithmetic distance (Quasi-OWAD) operator. We develop a general overview of this type of generalization and study some of their main properties such as the distinction between descending and ascending orders. We also consider different families of Quasi-OWAD operators such as the Minkowski ordered weighted averaging distance (MOWAD) operator, the ordered weighted averaging distance (OWAD) operator, the Euclidean ordered weighted averaging distance (EOWAD) operator, the normalized quasi-arithmetic distance, et
