Expanding Stakeholder Base: A Model for Social Value Creation through Collaboration in Workforce Literacy Development
Here, we present a conceptual model for a holistic approach to workforce literacy development. In this model we argue that the adult literacy development process is influenced by multiple stakeholders – literacy providers, government agencies, businesses, and communities. Interaction and interdependence between stakeholders results in emergence of the four Es of social value creation: Expertise development, Economic development, Engagement and Empowerment
Maternal and neonatal outcome in primigravida with mobile head at ≥39 weeks of gestation
Background: Primigravida with mobile head at ≥39 weeks of gestation are prone to the probability of caesarean section. With this study we aimed to identify the maternal and neonatal outcome of primigravida with mobile head at ≥39 weeks of gestation under the watchful expectancy and good conduct of labour. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted among primigravida with mobile head at ≥39 weeks admitted for delivery in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, govt. medical college, Kottayam, Kerala, from February 2021 to September 2021. A sample size of 247 was identified considering 28% proportion of presentation with deflexed head, 95% confidence interval and 2% margin of error. A detailed history, physical examination and ultrasonography was performed. Results: Of the 250 participants, the mean age of the study subjects was 24.97±3.93 and mean body mass index (BMI) was 23.72±4.78 kg/m2. The most common cause for mobile head was a deflexed head (35.2%). A lower segment caesarean section (LSCS) was conducted in 28.8% participants while vacuum assistance ad forceps assistance was required for 9.6% and 4.4% participants respectively. The most common indication for LSCSC being moderate to thick meconium-stained amniotic fluid (MSAF) 23% followed by 1st degree CPD failed trial in 17% cases. A significant association with maternal morbidity was observed in undiagnosed placenta previa (p=0.039) and vacuum-assisted deliveries (p=0.001). We observed that 3.6% of babies have meconium aspiration syndrome, and 8% of new born were admitted in intensive care for foetal distress. Conclusions: Primigravida with mobile head at term during labour requires intense monitoring. Although the duration of labour appeared to be prolonged in a small proportion of patients with watchful expectancy and good conduct of labour and timely intervention, vaginal delivery is possible with minimal maternal and neonatal morbidity.
Uncovering Trait Associations Resulting in Maximal Seed Yield in Winter and Spring Oilseed Rape
Seed yield is a complex trait for many crop species including oilseed rape (OSR) (Brassica napus), the second most important oilseed crop worldwide. Studies have focused on the contribution of distinct factors in seed yield such as environmental cues, agronomical practices, growth conditions, or specific phenotypic traits at the whole plant level, such as number of pods in a plant. However, how female reproductive traits contribute to whole plant level traits, and hence to seed yield, has been largely ignored. Here, we describe the combined contribution of 33 phenotypic traits within a B. napus diversity set population and their trade-offs at the whole plant and organ level, along with their interaction with plant level traits. Our results revealed that both Winter OSR (WOSR) and Spring OSR (SOSR); the two more economically important OSR groups in terms of oil production; share a common dominant reproductive strategy for seed yield. In this strategy, the main inflorescence is the principal source of seed yield, producing a good number of ovules, a large number of long pods with a concomitantly high number of seeds per pod. Moreover, we observed that WOSR opted for additional reproductive strategies than SOSR, presenting more plasticity to maximise seed yield. Overall, we conclude that OSR adopts a key strategy to ensure maximal seed yield and propose an ideal ideotype highlighting crucial phenotypic traits that could be potential targets for breeding
Synthesis and Spectral Characterization of Copper(II) and Zinc(II) Complexes of An Acylhydrazone

Diverting phenylpropanoid pathway flux from sinapine to produce industrially useful 4-vinyl derivatives of hydroxycinnamic acids in Brassicaceous oilseeds
Sinapine (sinapoylcholine) is an antinutritive phenolic compound that can account for up to 2% of seed weight in brassicaceous oilseed crops and reduces the suitability of their protein-rich seed meal for use as animal feed. Sinapine biosynthesis draws on hydroxycinnamic acid precursors produced by the phenylpropanoid pathway. The 4-vinyl derivatives of several hydroxycinnamic acids have industrial applications. For example, 4-vinyl phenol (4-hydroxystyrene) is a building block for a range of synthetic polymers applied in resins, inks, elastomers, and coatings. Here we have expressed a modified bacterial phenolic acid decarboxylase (PAD) in developing seed of Camelina sativa to redirect phenylpropanoid pathway flux from sinapine biosynthesis to the production of 4-vinyl phenols. PAD expression led to a ∼95% reduction in sinapine content in seeds of both glasshouse and field grown C. sativa and to an accumulation of 4-vinyl derivatives of hydroxycinnamic acids, primarily as glycosides. The most prevalent aglycone was 4-vinyl phenol, but 4-vinyl guaiacol, 6-hydroxy-4-vinyl guaiacol and 4-vinylsyringol (Canolol) were also detected. The molar quantity of 4-vinyl phenol glycosides was more than twice that of sinapine in wild type seeds. PAD expression was not associated with an adverse effect on seed yield, harvest index, seed morphology, storage oil content or germination in either glasshouse or field experiments. Our data show that expression of PAD in brassicaceous oilseeds can supress sinapine accumulation, diverting phenylpropanoid pathway flux into 4-vinyl phenol derivatives, thereby also providing a non-petrochemical source of this class of industrial chemicals
Accelerator system for the PRISM based muon to electron conversion experiment
The next generation of lepton flavor violation experiments need high
intensity and high quality muon beams. Production of such beams requires
sending a short, high intensity proton pulse to the pion production target,
capturing pions and collecting the resulting muons in the large acceptance
transport system. The substantial increase of beam quality can be obtained by
applying the RF phase rotation on the muon beam in the dedicated FFAG ring,
which was proposed for the PRISM project. This allows to reduce the momentum
spread of the beam and to purify from the unwanted components like pions or
secondary protons. A PRISM Task Force is addressing the accelerator and
detector issues that need to be solved in order to realize the PRISM
experiment. The parameters of the required proton beam, the principles of the
PRISM experiment and the baseline FFAG design are introduced. The spectrum of
alternative designs for the PRISM FFAG ring are shown. Progress on ring main
systems like injection and RF are presented. The current status of the study
and its future directions are discussed.Comment: Studies performed within the PRISM Task Force initiativ

(2E)-2-[(2-Hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)(phenyl)methylidene]-N-phenylhydrazinecarboxamide dimethylformamide monosolvate
The title compound, C21H19N3O3·C3H7NO, adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine bond and crystallizes in the amide form. The dihedral angle between the rings lined to the C=N bond is 88.60 (12)°. The dimethylformamide solvent molecule is disordered over two orientations with site occupancies of 0.684 (3) and 0.316 (3). The two N atoms of the hydrazinecarboxamide group are involved in intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds in which the dimethylformamide O atom acts as acceptor. The structure also features π–π interactions, with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.6561 (13) Å. Classical and non-classical intramolecular O—H⋯N and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present
