    Distribution of deformations and parameters of stress-strain state in steel Kh18N10T

    Parameters of the laws of distribution of fields of micro- and submicrodeformations in steel Kh18N10T are determined under uniaxial tension of specimens. The components of the plastic strain tensor and their statistics are determined for grain arrays and in the plane of four individual grains. The intensities of the major micro-and submicrodeformations are computed. The correlation relations between the deformations of individual volumes of metal inside grains are estimated. The parameters of the strain-stress states of structural components (grains) of a polycrystal are determined. Qualitative analysis of the microstructural features of deformation of the steel studied is performed. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York

    Review of new technologies used for meat identification

    The present article represents an analysis of trends in development of test-systems for identification of meat. These test systems are commonly used in food production and research laboratories. The relevance of development of methods for identification of meat kinds is related not only to the food restrictions, which are practiced in some religions and related to consumption of certain types of meat, but also with the hygienic aspects of food production. Also, this research is inspired also by the acute issue of food products adulteration and the replacement of one type of meat with another one. The article considers the trends in the develop  ment of microanalysis method that use immunochromatic research, i. e. methods based on molecular biology. Also this article considers the devices that do not use chromatographic methods of analysis. Examples of the development of test systems based on various methods of analysis for the identification of meat are given below. Attention is focused on the prospects of combining these methods, including colorimetric methods for identification of meat. It is also specified that the emergence of new dyes and new enzyme systems, suitable for use in enzyme-immunoassay, can enhance the sensitivity of these test systems. It is also noted that the development of technologies associated with sorbents can contribute to a better separation of the test substrates and this way to increase the sensitivity of the test in case of small amounts of test substrate. It is also noted that the use of various types of iso  thermal amplification can reduce the analysis time necessary for meat identification. Various schemes of devices for microanalysis are given; their advantages and disadvantages are listed. An example of proteomes application for meat identification is given. It is shown that this method can also be applied in the heat treatment of meat. The prospects for the development of such devices are analyzed. It is concluded that the development of systems for microanalysis in the form of quick tests is quite relevant and promis  ing. It is indicated that theoretically in the future such analytical systems, due to the use of microfluidic technologies, will be able to combine several methods.     METHODS OF MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS FOR FISH SPECIES IDENTIFICATION

    The growth in demand for fish products as a result of globalization of trade caused a risks and threats of selling poor-quality and falsified fish products. This has become a great problem both for supervising agencies and for consumers.Many countries have regulations on food labelling and safety. For example, in the Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus and Republic of Kazakhstan has been passed the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union TR CU022/2011 “Food products in part of their labeling” that aims to prevent misinformation of consumers to ensuring realization of consumer rights to reliable information about food products, and Technical Regulation TR EAEU040/2016 “On safety of fish and fish products” requires indication of the zoological name of the species of the aquatic biological resource or the object of aquaculture.Fish species identification is traditionally carried out based on external morphological traits. However, it becomes impossible to identify species by ichthyological traits upon fish cutting, if the head and fins are removed, and the body is cut on pieces (especially, in case of fillets) and even more so upon technological processing. In this case, objective analytical methods of species identification are used, which are based on ELISA or PCR. However, DNA‑based methods have several advantages compared to ELISA methods and complement traditional morphological identification methods. This paper gives a wide overview of the most recent and used methods of fish species identification based on DNA analysis such as single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) analysis, species-specific PCR, real-time PCR, polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (PCR-RFLP), DNA barcoding, Sanger sequencing and next-generation sequencing (NGS)

    Phenomena induced by powerful HF pumping towards magnetic zenith with a frequency near the F-region critical frequency and the third electron gyro harmonic frequency

    Multi-instrument observational data from an experiment on 13 October 2006 at the EISCAT/HEATING facility at Tromsø, Norway are analysed. The experiment was carried out in the evening hours when the electron density in the F-region dropped, and the HF pump frequency <I>f<sub>H</sub></I> was near and then above the critical frequency of the F2 layer. The distinctive feature of this experiment is that the pump frequency was just below the third electron gyro harmonic frequency, while both the HF pump beam and UHF radar beam were directed towards the magnetic zenith (MZ). The HF pump-induced phenomena were diagnosed with several instruments: the bi-static HF radio scatter on the London-Tromsø-St. Petersburg path, the CUTLASS radar in Hankasalmi (Finland), the European Incoherent Scatter (EISCAT) UHF radar at Tromsø and the Tromsø ionosonde (dynasonde). The results show thermal electron excitation of the HF-induced striations seen simultaneously from HF bi-static scatter and CUTLASS radar observations, accompanied by increases of electron temperature when the heater frequency was near and then above the critical frequency of the F2 layer by up to 0.4 MHz. An increase of the electron density up to 25% accompanied by strong HF-induced electron heating was observed, only when the heater frequency was near the critical frequency and just below the third electron gyro harmonic frequency. It is concluded that the combined effect of upper hybrid resonance and gyro resonance at the same altitude gives rise to strong electron heating, the excitation of striations, HF ray trapping and extension of HF waves to altitudes where they can excite Langmuir turbulence and fluxes of electrons accelerated to energies that produce ionization

    ISOLATION OF BACTERIOPHAGES, CAPABLE TO LYSE SERRATIA MARCESCENS AND EVALUATION OF THEIR ACTIVITY ON ONION AND GERANIUM

    In this study, phages active against S. marcescens, causative agent of onion decay, were isolated from plant material. One virus isolate was shown to accumulate in high titers and was denoted as phage S. This bacteriophage exhibited a hexagonal head and tail and was attributed to Myoviridae family. It was shown the ability of bacteriophage S to suppress the development of bacteriosis on geranium plants. Investigated virus isolate also inhibited rooting of onion scales. This work focused on a biological control approach to use bacteriophages for reducing bacterial pathogen populations and disease severity on plants

    РОЛЬ ВИРУСНЫХ ИНФЕКЦИЙ В РАЗВИТИИ ХРОНИЧЕСКИХ ЭЗОФАГИТОВ У ДЕТЕЙ

    The aim of this study was to reveal features of chronic viral esophagitis in children. 102 patients from 3 till 17 years with histologically confirmed chronic esophagitis (CE) are surveyed. Immunohistochemically viruses have been found in esophageal mucosa in 65 (64 %) children (1 group). 37 children (2 group) have CE of other causes. In 50 (77 %) children of 1 group HV have been revealed, in 22 (34 %) - CMV, in 19 (29 %) - VEB, in 22 (34 %) a combination of 2 or 3 viruses. Clinical manifestation of viral esophagitis was similar to reflux-esophagitis. Endoscopical signs of CE have been found in 55 % of children of 1 group and in 40,5% of 2 group, erosions were only in 1 group (15 %). The inflammatory index in 1 group was significantly higher, diskeratosis (14 %), parakeratosis (6 %) and balloon dystrophy (32 %) of esophageal epithelium were also revealed in it, but columnar metaplasia was not found. Thus, we have revealed high frequency of chronic virus infection as the cause of CE in immunocompetent patients. Erosions, higher degree of inflammatory changes morphologically and more manifest clinical symptoms are typical for a chronic virus esophagitis.Целью работы было выявить особенности вирусных эзофагитов у детей. Обследованы 102 пациента от 3 до 17 лет с гистологически установленным хроническим эзофагитом (ХЭ). Иммуногистохимически вирусы в слизистой оболочке пищевода (СОП) выявлены у 65 (64%) детей (1-я группа). 2-ю группу составили дети с ХЭ другой этиологии. У 50 (77%) детей 1-й группы выявлен ВПГ, у 22 (34%) – ЦМВ, у 19 (29%) – ВЭБ, из них у 22 (34%) пациентов было сочетание 2 или 3 вирусов. Балльная оценка жалоб показала, что клиническая симптоматика при вирусных эзофагитах неспецифична и сходна с таковой при ГЭРБ. Эндоскопически ХЭ выявлен у 55% детей в 1-й группе и у 40,5% – во 2-й, эрозивный ХЭ – только в 1-й группе (15%). Воспалительный индекс (ВИ) в 1-й группе был достоверно выше, выявлены дискератоз (14%), паракератоз (6%), баллонная дистрофия (32%) плоского эпителия, желудочная метаплазия не обнаружена. Таким образом, мы выявили высокую частоту хронической вирусной инфекции как причины развития ХЭ у иммунокомпетентных пациентов. Для хронической вирусной инфекции характерны эрозивные формы эзофагита, более высокая степень воспалительных изменений при морфологическом исследовании и более яркие клинические проявления
