Mannose and xylose cannot be used as selectable agents for Vitis vinifera L. transformation
Only a few selectable marker systems for genetic engineering of grapevine have been studied in the past and only resistance to antibiotics has been used to recover transgenic vines. Since the acceptance of antibiotic resistances is small mannose and xylose were evaluated as selectable agents for the genetic transformation of grapevine. Survival of suspension cells and the ability to develop embryos from embryogenic calli were estimated in the presence of mannose and xylose. Embryogenic calli obtained from anther cultures of Vitis vinifera cv. Chardonnay were able to grow and to produce embryos even if mannose or xylose were the only source of carbohydrates

Model selection via worst-case criterion for nonlinear bounded-error estimation
International audienceIn this paper the problem of model selection for measurement purpose is studied. A new selection procedure in a deterministic framework is proposed. The problem of nonlinear bounded-error estimation is viewed as a set inversion procedure. As each candidate model structure leads to a specific set of admissible values of the measurement vector, the worts-case criterion is used to select the optimal model. The selection procedure is applied to a real measurement problem, grooves dimensioning using Remote Field Eddy Current (RFEC) inspection

State estimation of a dehydration process by interval analysis
This article presents a general methodology of state estimation by interval analysis in a dynamic system modeled by difference equations. The methodology is applied to a pineapple osmotic dehydration process, in order to predict the behavior of the process within a range of allowed perturbation. The paper presents simulations and validations

High-Fe, low-Al basalts: evidence of extensive mantle processing on Earth, Moon, Mars, Vesta, Venus, and Io
Ferropicrite basalts – basalts with relatively high-Fe and low-Al contents compared to ‘normal' basalts – are a minor but widespread component of magmatism on Earth. We have investigated how widespread high-Fe, low-Al compositions (similar to ferropicrites) are on other terrestrial planetary bodies and suggest that these basalts formed through similar processes
