SCRUTINIZING THE DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS OF SMART PRODUCTS: A PRACTICAL EVALUATION IN YACHTING

The collection and use of data are of increasing importance not only in virtual worlds but also for real goods. New products operationalize this principle and integrate sensors, actuators and microcomputers into analog products to enable sophisticated features such as context-awareness or connectivity with other devices. The underlying concept is being discussed as Smart Product and aims for the automation of activities, right up to autonomization of entire products. This article raises design specifications from existing literature and instantiates Smart Products in sailing. We discuss the application of the design specifications with sailing professionals in order to evaluate its practical value and to identify further benefits. The results affirmed that sailboats can be transformed into Smart Products by the integration of information technology. However, it also turned out that additional benefits can only be tapped by the integration of further stakeholders in a systemic perspective

Construindo um a rede de atenção psicossocial em um pequeno município: um relato de experiência

Linhas de Cuidado em Atenção PsicossocialTrata - se de um relato de experiência cujo objetivo é descrever a mobilização de um grupo multiprofissional do município de Carazinho no Rio Gran de do Sul que em rede conseguiu modificar a realidade de vida de uma criança em situação de vulnerabilidade social após várias tentativas frustradas de ações isoladas . A descrição é feita sob o olhar de uma enfermeira membro da equipe que acompanhou o caso durante oito meses até sua resolução e como esta experiência impulsionou a criação da Rede Unida. Espera - se que este relato possa impulsionar diversos profissionais na criação de redes de atenção psicossocial em seus municípios, através de uma nova forma de pensar e atuar em saúde. Essa experiência demonstra a necessidade de atuações conjuntas, entre diversos segmentos da sociedade incluindo o setor da saúde, pois a complexidade do cuidado exige ações pactuadas que de em conta das várias realidades apresent adas diariamente nos serviços

Otimização da pré-forma do billet do forjamento a quente de uma biela

No forjamento em matriz fechada de vários estágios, um dos fatores que levam a um processo bem-sucedido está relacionado ao design da forma da pré-forma. A pré-forma deve ser projetada com precisão para evitar a sobrecarga das matrizes e para garantir o preenchimento completo das cavidades sem desperdícios de matéria prima em forma de rebarba. A qualidade da forma da pré-forma, que no passado dependia fundamentalmente da experiência do engenheiro, agora pode ser facilmente alcançada por meio da análise com o uso da Teoria de Elementos Finitos (FEM). Neste estudo, uma rotina de otimização baseada em Metamodel Assisted Evolution Strategies (MAES) foi empregada no desenvolvimento do projeto da forma da pré- forma para o processo de forjamento em matriz fechada de uma biela. Os resultados numéricos alcançados permitiram reduzir significativamente a força de forjamento e o volume da pré- forma.In multi-stage closed-die forging, one of the factors that lead to a successful process is related to the shape design of the preform. The preform must be accurately designed to avoid overloading of the dies and to ensure complete filling of the cavities without wasting material in the form of flash. The quality of the preform shape, which in the past depended fundamentally on the experience of the engineer, can now be easily achieved through analysis using Finite Elemente Model (FEM). In this study, an optimization routine based on Metamodel Assisted Evolution Strategies (MAES) was employed in the development of the preform shape design to the closeddie forging process of a connecting rod. Manipulation of Optimal Matchings via Predonation of Endowment

In this paper we answer a question posed by Sertel and Sanver (2002) on the manipulability of optimal matching rules in matching problems with endowments. We characterize the classes of consumption rules under which optimal matching rules can be manipulated via predonation of endowment.G. Legados escritos e trajetória imigrante: os manuscritos de Antônio Ceretta

Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo propor a utilização de memórias escritas por imigrantes para a reconstituição de suas trajetórias de vida para a melhor compreensão acerca processo de imigração e colonização no Brasil meridional. Este trabalho se configura como um estudo de caso, onde foram utilizadas as memórias do imigrante italiano Antônio Ceretta, chegado ao Brasil em 1880. Ceretta escreveu suas memórias em um conjunto de 6 cadernos manuscritos no início da década de 1940 durante o regime do Estado Novo, narrando um pouco de sua trajetória e do estabelecimentos de imigrantes italianos na região central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, especificamente nas comunidades de Vale Vêneto e São João do Polêsine. Antônio Ceretta atuou inicialmente como agricultor, tornando-se mais tarde professor da comunidade onde morou toda sua vida, São João do Polêsine. O contexto em que Antônio Ceretta viveu foi marcado por intensas transformações políticas e sociais, em um processo de nacionalização crescente desde o início da Primeira República (1889) atingindo seu ápice no Estado Novo (1937-1945). Apesar do contexto hostil à manifestações de estrangeiros, suas memórias possuem um teor bastante conciliatório, atribuindo o sucesso dos imigrantes italianos na empreitada migratória ao seu ávido trabalho em conjunto a ação da Igreja Católica

Generation and Handling of Hard Drive Duplicates as Piece of Evidence

An important area in digital forensics is images of hard disks. The correct production of the images as well as the integrity and authenticity of each hard disk image is essential for the probative force of the image to be used at court. Integrity and authenticity are under suspicion as digital evidence is stored and used by software based systems. Modifications to digital objects are hard or even impossible to track and can occur even accidentally. Even worse, vulnerabilities occur for all current computing systems. Therefore, it is difficult to guarantee a secure environment for forensic investigations. But intended deletions of dedicated data of disk images are often required because of legal issues in many countries. This article provides a technical framework on the protection of the probative force of hard disk images by ensuring the integrity and authenticity using state of the art technology. It combines hardware-based security, cryptographic hash functions and digital signatures to achieve a continuous protection of the image together with a reliable documentation of the status of the device that was used for image creation. The framework presented allows to detect modifications and to pinpoint the exact area of the modification to the digital evidence protecting the probative force of the evidence at a whole. In addition, it also supports the deletion of parts of images without invalidating the retained data blocks.
