    This work investigated the role of perceived agent gender in customer behavior using a unique dataset from Southwest Airlines’ Twitter account. We inferred agent gender based on the first names provided by agents when responding to customers. We measured customer behavior using three outcomes: whether a customer decided to continue the service conversation upon receiving an agent’s initial response as well as the valence and arousal levels in their second tweet if the customer chose to continue the interaction. Our identification strategy relied on the Backdoor Criterion and hinged on the assumption that customer service requests are assigned to the next available agent, independent of agent gender. The findings revealed that customers were more likely to continue interactions with female agents than male agents and they were more negative in valence but less intense in arousal with the former group than with the latter

    Pyrazine-Based Blue Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Materials: Combine Small Singlet–Triplet Splitting With Large Fluorescence Rate

    Metal-free thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters have emerged as promising candidate materials for highly efficient and low-cost organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Here, a novel acceptor 2-cyanopyrazine is selected for the construction of blue TADF molecules via computer-assisted molecular design. Both theoretical prediction and experimental photophysical data indicate a small S1-T1 energy gap (ΔEST) and a relative large fluorescence rate (kF) in an o-phenylene-bridged 2-cyanopyrazine/3,6-di-tert-butylcarbazole compound (TCzPZCN). The kF value of 3.7 × 107 s−1 observed in a TCzPZCN doped film is among the highest in the TADF emitters with a ΔEST smaller than 0.1 eV. Blue TADF emission is observed in a TCzPZCN doped film with a short TADF lifetime of 1.9 ÎŒs. The OLEDs using TCzPZCN as emitter exhibit a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 7.6% with low-efficiency roll-off. A sky-blue device containing a derivative of TCzPZCN achieves an improved EQE maximum of 12.2% by suppressing the non-radiative decay at T1

    B‐cell maturation antigen chimeric antigen receptor‐T therapy alleviated heart failure in patients with multiple myeloma

    Abstract Patients with multiple myeloma (MM) are likely to achieve poor therapeutic response when organs are involved. We produced anti‐B‐cell maturation antigen (BCMA) chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)‐T cells, which are in a trial for patients with relapsed/refractory MM. One enrolled patient developed severe heart failure, highly suspected as light chain cardiac amyloidosis. He exhibited increased N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide with a peak of 32 299 ng/mL and heart failure with an ejection fraction of 30%. Anti‐BCMA CAR‐T cells were administered following lymphodepletion. The patient achieved cardiac response within 1 week with a decrease in N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide by 80%, an increase in ejection fraction from 30% to 56%, and a haematological response with negative minimal residual disease at 1 month and a complete response at 1 year. To date, this patient has maintained good health without heart failure or haematological relapse. Herein, we show the efficacy of anti‐BCMA CAR‐T cells in patients with MM and severe heart failure
