Analisis Pendekatan Kontekstual dalam Pembelajaran Menulis Cerita Pendek Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri Satu Atap Riangpuho

This study aims to provide an overview and explanation of (1) the contextual approach used by the teacher in learning to write short stories, (2) the factors that influence the teacher's success in analyzing contextual approaches, especially learning short stories and (3) the results achieved from applying this approach this contextual. The subjects of this study were Indonesian teachers and Grade VII students of One Roof Public Middle School Riangpuho and the object of the study was short story learning using a contextual approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data obtained through these three methods were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in writing short stories using a contextual approach as follows: (1) contextual learning really helps students in the learning process, especially in writing short stories, especially writing experiences; (2) the teacher acts as an informator, motivator, facilitator, evaluator, inspirer, and mediator. Students have a high enthusiasm for learning because it is in accordance with their life experiences, and the school environment supports learning. Meanwhile, the use of language that is easy for students to understand, the deepening method used by the teacher, namely associating the material with students' daily experiences and the intense assistance that the teacher provides when students begin to write stories, are supporting factors in the application of a contextual approach; (3) the results obtained by students from 29 people have a value above the average of 83.66. This shows that learning using a contextual approach can increase the value of short stories to students

Taking the pulse of Earth's tropical forests using networks of highly distributed plots

Tropical forests are the most diverse and productive ecosystems on Earth. While better understanding of these forests is critical for our collective future, until quite recently efforts to measure and monitor them have been largely disconnected. Networking is essential to discover the answers to questions that transcend borders and the horizons of funding agencies. Here we show how a global community is responding to the challenges of tropical ecosystem research with diverse teams measuring forests tree-by-tree in thousands of long-term plots. We review the major scientific discoveries of this work and show how this process is changing tropical forest science. Our core approach involves linking long-term grassroots initiatives with standardized protocols and data management to generate robust scaled-up results. By connecting tropical researchers and elevating their status, our Social Research Network model recognises the key role of the data originator in scientific discovery. Conceived in 1999 with RAINFOR (South America), our permanent plot networks have been adapted to Africa (AfriTRON) and Southeast Asia (T-FORCES) and widely emulated worldwide. Now these multiple initiatives are integrated via ForestPlots.net cyber-infrastructure, linking colleagues from 54 countries across 24 plot networks. Collectively these are transforming understanding of tropical forests and their biospheric role. Together we have discovered how, where and why forest carbon and biodiversity are responding to climate change, and how they feedback on it. This long-term pan-tropical collaboration has revealed a large long-term carbon sink and its trends, as well as making clear which drivers are most important, which forest processes are affected, where they are changing, what the lags are, and the likely future responses of tropical forests as the climate continues to change. By leveraging a remarkably old technology, plot networks are sparking a very modern revolution in tropical forest science. ANALISIS PENGENDALIAN KUALITAS PRODUKSI PADA PERUSAHAAN MEUBEL UD. BAROKAH INDAH DI KOTA KUPANG

This research was conducted at the UD Furniture company. Beautiful Barokah in the city of Kupang. The purpose of this study was to analyze the production quality control of UD furniture. Beautiful Barokah in Kupang City. There are two sources of data in this study, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained by the author directly through interviews or company leaders at UD. Barokah Indah and secondary data are data obtained from literature documentation and books related to research. The data analysis technique used is eight steps of improvement which are the result of the method of solving problems or increasing success based on a continuous plan do check action (PDCA) cycle. The results of this study were obtained from quality control activities carried out by the UD Furniture company. Barokah Indah, namely: (a) quality control of raw materials, (b) control of the production process, (c) control of finished products. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of the analysis conducted by researchers at the UD furniture company. Nurse's Experience as Educator in Hemodialysis Care to End Stage Renal Disease Patient in Hospital X: A Phenomenology Study

End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is progressive and irreversible damage to kidney function,which can reduce the quality of life of patients and death due to accumulation of uremia toxins in the blood. Hemodialysis is a temporary therapy used to prolong the life of the patient. The uncertainty of the treatment provides a unique response which became an interesting phenomenon for researchers to conduct research Sethe qualitative strategy for explore the nurses' experience and to describe it especially in the nurses' role as educator in hemodialysis care to ESRD patient in Hospital X.Aim of this study to provide an overview of nurse's experience as educator in ESRD patients during hemodialysis therapy in the Hemodialysis Unit Hospital X. this research used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach has been conducted. The data collection technique used was using in-depth interviews. A purposive sampling was used to recruited the participant and, namely ten nurses were involded in this study with inclusion critearia as follows: (1) work as an executive nurse in HD unit, (2) have minimum Diploma III as basic education level. Data analysis using Colaizzi's method and then using thematic analysis. Four themes were found in this study: lifestyle changes, uncooperative patients, responsive patients, and patients do not want to stop dialysis. Future research can be conduct in fourth theme concerning withdrawal dialysis in ESRD patients in various perspectives including: ethical perspective and decision making for futile treatment, health coverage policies, and palliative care
