Denne boka er ei omarbeidd utgåve av dr.art.-avhandlinga med same tittelfrå 2008. Forfattaren, Gro-Renée Rambø, er førsteamanuensis i språkvitskapved Universitetet i Agder. Det bør nemnast at meldaren også har hatt tilgangtil avhandlinga slik den låg føre.Arbeidet er delt i ï¬Âre hovuddelar. I første del får vi ein generell introduksjon til emnet og eit oversyn over eldre og nyare forsking på språkkontakten mellom lågtysk og skandinavisk. Deretter følgjer ein svært utførlegteori- og metodedel, før vi i tredje del går laus på sjølve hovudemnet. Herer det først eit generelt kapittel om språk- og samfunnstilhøve i det aktuelletidsrommet, som først og fremst vil seie seinmiddelalderen, og deretter hartilhøva på Gotland, i Danmark, i Sverige og Norge fått kvart sitt kapittel. Idesse kapitla er det lagt vekt på jamføring mellom dei ulike byane etter einfast struktur: Språksosiale og historiske rammer (med spesiell vekt på åfastslå når den eigenlege hansatida var på dei respektive stadene) folkesetnad, språksamfunnet, språkbruk og språkbrukssituasjonar og høve til språkkontakt. Det heile blir avslutta med ein oppsummerande og konkluderandebolk

This is followcd by a valuation of the validity and representativity of the dictionary's sourcematerial on this point, on the basis of same cxamplcs. Among other things a regional Norwegian usc ofthe interjeetion hurra ' hurrah' is diseussed. The overall imprcssion is that words of everyday speechfrom the eontcmporary or the ncar past might be underrcprcsented

Frå Bloksberg til Blåmyra – leksikografi i grenseland mellom proprium og appellativ

This article compares the treatment of a certain kind of expression in two Norwegian dictionaries, Norsk Ordbok (NO) and Det Norske Akademis ordbok (NAOB). The expressions show place-name structure on the surface, but turn out to have appellative content. A group of them are used to denote places where some specific natural resource is customarily exploited (especially compounds with -hø ‘(cupola-shaped) mountain’ and -haug ‘hillock’). Many have a somewhat slangy stylistic value. NO includes more of these words and expressions than NAOB. This is due to the fact that the material in NO covers a lot more data from dialects

Presentasjon av prosjektet "Ordbok over trøndermåla"

Artikkelen gjer greie for bakgrunn, status og framtidsplan ar for "Ordbok over trøndermåla". Dette første større regionale ordboksprosjektet i Noreg skal dekkje dialektane ' Trøndelag og på Nordmøre. Eit hovudpunkt er å dele prosjektet i to, med ei folkeutgåve av ordboka på kort sikt og ei meir utførleg vitskapleg behandling på lengre sikt

Space, Scale, and Scope in the Linked Dataverse: LINCS and the Map of Early Modern London—REED London Online Alignment Project

A key goal of the LINCS project (Linked Infrastructure for Networked Cultural Scholarship) is to create pathways between datasets while preserving both the nuances intrinsic to humanities data and the research questions that have produced diverse datasets. Our work of aligning the gazetteers of the Map of Early Modern London and REED London Online (the "MoEML-RLO Gazetteer Alignment project") invites us to confront the major conceptual challenges that come with merging and connecting data across projects. MoEML is a descriptive gazetteer and map platform with drawing tools, finding aids, and toponymically rich texts. RLO makes discoverable a broad collection of London-centric archival materials referring to performance, music, and theatre. Our projects, with their overlapping but distinct spatial and temporal scope, offer a fruitful opportunity to test the real interoperability of two datasets

The Sun Tavern

The Sun Tavern was a victualing house on the east side of New Fish Street, just north of London Bridge between lower Thames Street and Little Eastcheap. Settled just under St. Magnus’ monument and yard, the tavern sat on the boundary between Bridge Within Ward and Billingsgate Ward. A small sign with an orb and a dot, the common marker of the symbol for the sun in this period, hung out into the street to mark its location (Digges)
