Inflation-Proof Credits and Financial Instruments. Making the Fisher Hypothesis a Reality.

The financial crises of recent years have revealed the sensitivity and vulnerability of nominal interest rates to inflation, which reduces the value of money and affects the returns of financial instruments. The lack of resources to mitigate the impact of inflation has been a limiting factor that has had a marked effect on economies and on the development of mortgage markets in Latin America’s unstable economies. This study demonstrates an alternative financial method that compensates losses caused by inflation in nominal fixed-rate mortgages and ensures returns in real terms for banks and investors, while offering families the possibility that their payments may represent an increasingly smaller percentage of their income, even in high-inflation scenarios such as those seen in Latin America during the 1980s and 1990s. The new methodology herein proposed maintains in each period the parity of Fisher’s Law with inflation. That is, the real interest rate is kept fixed throughout the life of the mortgage and in any economic conditions that may arise.Fisher's Law; Mortgage Models

Neurofuzzy model of an industrial process, reducing complexity by using principal component analysis

XVI Congreso Español sobre Tecnologías y Lógica Fuzzy Valladolid, 1-3 de febrero de 2012A Neurofuzzy model of a mixing chamber pressure has been proposed. The process is a part of a copper smelter plant. The principal component analysis (PCA) method has been used to reduce the inputs space for a recurrent fuzzy model. The coupling among variables and their mutual influence between themselves, are taken into account by the projection into the PCA axis. The model have been validated with real data from the factory. Innovar: un imperativo para competir en la economía mundial

Los tratados de libre comercio recientemente firmados o en proceso de negociación por parte del gobierno colombiano han puesto sobre la mesa nuevamente la discusión sobre las condiciones en que se encuentra la economía del país para afrontar la competencia externa. Ha habido varios esfuerzos por internacionalizar la economía desde hace décadas con varias modalidades diferentes de apertura de la economía y con la ayuda de distintos tipos de instrumentos, desde intervenciones a nivel micro buscando fortalecer el desempeño de las empresas nacionales, tanto grandes como pequeñas y medianas, a intervenciones a nivel macro mediante el manejo de la tasa de cambio, aranceles, incentivos a la exportación, y a través de la construcción de infraestructura, entre otros. Se cumple un año de haber firmado el tratado con los Estados Unidos, y esto nos sirve de trasfondo para aportar a la discusión y los análisis sobre la situación del país para sacar provecho de estas nuevas condiciones

La introducción y difusión del maiz en el concejo de Güeñes

El artículo pretende analizar la evolución numérica de la población del municipio vizcaíno de Güeñes entre 1575 y 1700 y la incidencia que sobre ella tuvo la llegada del maiz. La revolución del maiz trajo consigo un lento pero constante crecimiento demográfico. Analizando la evolución demográfica del período cabe indicar lo siguiente: hasta 1581 es una etapa de intenso crecimiento gracias a la expansión agraria y a la siderurgia. La crisis siderúrgico de fines del S.XVI afecta al crecimiento demográfico. A partir de 1630 se asiste a la revolución del maiz que permitió incrementar la producción agraria. A mitad del S.XVII se pasa por una importante contracción, pero desde fines del S.XVII la superación de la crisis vino de la mano de la intensificación de la producción agropecuaria, y a una segunda revolución del mai
