Despite the tremendous advances in the understanding of the molecular mechanisms and the complexity of the diseases is one of the present challenges for the scientific community; then, novel strategies are required to be designed and developed for effective strategies for early diagnosis and treatment. As many cellular alterations are observed at protein level, high-throughput assays are dramatically needed for biomarker discovery. Herein, we describe advantages and limitations of protein microarrays, as proteomics strategy useful for multiplex and high-throughput protein characterization in clinical samples. Finally, a few examples are discussed; mostly of them related to currently disease biomarkers already identified in proximal fluids by protein arrays are discussed

The main objective of this communication is to determine the characteristics and requirements of the BIM model, in particular in relation to the BPS energy analysis, to be used as a project tool that supports sustainable management in existing hospital establishments. With this objective, BIM architectural models and environmental simulations of representative buildings in Chile and Spain were carried out to review and propose attributes of sustainable models that allow a better adaptation to growth and flexibility from the early stages of design and restructuring. This study associates low energy consumption strategies for hospital establishments. The study is aimed at the integral management of both the operation of the building and all the services involved in its use and explotation. This will allow to discuss the paradigm changes regarding the training of the architect and the specialists involved in the design, construction and operation of more sustainable projects. This paper analyses the housing situation in Chile according to energy efficiency, in order to propose improvements, in particular for reconstruction housing programmes post-earthquake of 2010. The study is targeted to the central-south zone of the country, between Maule and Araucanía region; which has been mostly affected by the seismic activity. It reviews climatic conditions, as well as shape and constructive features, in order to identify feasible improvements for energy efficiency. Based on that analysis, it states some housing design properties, in particular related to arrangements and envelope materials with great incidence on the environmental performance. A simple assessment of the costs associated to these improvements is made. The work concludes that a more efficient construction is determined by the correct analysis of climatic conditions for the energy requirements, to identify proper shapes and a quality of envelope. It demonstrates that modifications of housing design, location and construction can be significant in the way to energy efficiency.Diseño Integrado para la Reconstrucción de Viviendas Energeticamente Eficientes (Conicyt-MEL 8110003

Abstract Title: Importance of risk stratification in chest pain in the emergency department. Systematic review. Chest pain is a frequent reason for consultation in Emergency Department. Is characterized by great heterogeneity regarding chest presentation, final diagnosis and the risk for the patient. An adequate risk stratification is crucial for a properly and complete initial from Emergency Department. Evaluation. For this reason is required the knowledge and use of Risk Stratificacion Scalespara lo que se requiere el conocimiento y uso de las Escalas de Estratificación del Riesgo disponibles. Objective: To compare different risk stratification tools in patients with chest pain in the Emergency Department, related to the discrimination of subjects with increased risk of major adverse cardiac events. Methodology: A Systematic Review in databases CINAHL, PUBMED, CUIDEN, EMBASE, LILACS and SCIELO. Were included studies using a risk stratification tools to predict major adverse cardiac events. Results: 12 studies were included. These studies identified 7 risk stratification tools. The TIMI Risk Score was the most used. Of them, TIMI, GRACE, HEART Score and TIMI Modified received the highest discrimination capability (c>0.70), with the higher score for HEART Score. Conclusions: TIMI, GRACE and HEART Score are the largely risk stratification tools investigated, HEART Score showed the highest predictive capacity to major adverse cardiac events. Others risk stratification tools have been identified, however have not been conducted a rigorous validation, this is defined as a future research line. Here, we investigate for the first time the quantitative proteomic profiles of B-cells undergoing antigen-dependent maturation using a label-free LC-MS/MS approach applied on 5 purified B-cell subpopulations (naive, centroblasts, centrocytes, memory and plasma B-cells) from human tonsils (data are available via ProteomeXchange with identifier PXD006191). Our results revealed that the actual differences among these B-cell subpopulations are a combination of expression of a few maturation stage-specific proteins within each B-cell subset and maturation-associated changes in relative protein expression levels, which are related with metabolic regulation. The considerable overlap of the proteome of the 5 studied B-cell subsets strengthens the key role of the regulation of the stoichiometry of molecules associated with metabolic regulation and programming, among other signaling cascades (such as antigen recognition and presentation and cell survival) crucial for the transition between each B-cell maturation stage. We gratefully acknowledge financial support from the Spanish Health Institute Carlos III (ISCIII) for the grants: FIS PI14/01538, FIS PI17/01930 and CB16/12/00400.
