On the categories of L-Valued and Q-Valued 6 deterministic fuzzy automata

    Get PDF
Automata and languages have been studied in the context of different lattice structures by several authors. This paper is toward the categorical study of deterministic lattice-valued (L-valued) fuzzy automata and deterministic quantale-valued (Q-valued) fuzzy automata. The existence of initial and final objects in the subcategory of category of deterministic lattice-valued fuzzy automata is shown. We also show that there is an adjunction between the category of deterministic lattice-valued and quantale-valued fuzzy automata

The aromatic amino acid hydroxylase genes AAH1 and AAH2 in Toxoplasma gondii contribute to transmission in the cat

The Toxoplasma gondii genome contains two aromatic amino acid hydroxylase genes, AAH1 and AAH2 encode proteins that produce L-DOPA, which can serve as a precursor of catecholamine neurotransmitters. It has been suggested that this pathway elevates host dopamine levels thus making infected rodents less fearful of their definitive Felidae hosts. However, L-DOPA is also a structural precursor of melanins, secondary quinones, and dityrosine protein crosslinks, which are produced by many species. For example, dityrosine crosslinks are abundant in the oocyst walls of Eimeria and T. gondii, although their structural role has not been demonstrated, Here, we investigated the biology of AAH knockout parasites in the sexual reproductive cycle within cats. We found that ablation of the AAH genes resulted in reduced infection in the cat, lower oocyst yields, and decreased rates of sporulation. Our findings suggest that the AAH genes play a predominant role during infection in the gut of the definitive feline host

Tempering of Die-steels based on indigenous materials

This paper present studies on the effects of quenching temperature, tempering temperature and time on the hardness of three die steels of similar carbon contents but having increasing chromium percentages. While tempering in the range of 150°C to 400°C it was observed that hardness decreased as quenching temperature was raised. All the steels showed secondary hardening phenomenon in relation to the variables mentioned above. It was also observed that on tempering the steels above 450°C, after prior quenching from increasing temperatures, hardness gradually increased upto the quenching temperature of 1100°C, beyond which followed a decrease in hardness. This phenomenon was the decrease in hardness. This phenomenon was the same at all tempering temperatures upto 601°C, but the increase in hardness from low quenching temperatures to the maximum quenching temperature was less at 450°C than at the higher temperatures and attained a maximum at 600°C secondary hardening decreased with the increase of quenching temperatur

Effects of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation on two cryptogamic plants pigments growing at high altitude of central Himalayan region, India

Chlorofluorocarbons are mainly responsible for the depletion of stratospheric ozone layer which results in  increase of UV-B radiation on earth’s environment and causing adverse effects on flora. In the present  study we have investigated the effect of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation on two cryptogamic plants  (Xanthoria elegans and Bryum argenteum) growing at high altitude of central Himalayan region of India.  These plants were naturally receiving UV-B radiation and were analyzed for photosynthetic pigments, UV-B absorbing compounds and phenolics. In the field experiments, both of these plants contain higher amounts of UV-B absorbing compounds and phenolics and no major changes in total chlorophyll and carotenoid  under UV-B exposed conditions were recorded. B. argenteum contains higher amounts of total chlorophyll, carotenoids, UV-B absorbing compounds and phenolics than the X. elegans at the duration of 120 h. The maximum average UV-B irradiance was 4.38 Minimal Erythemal Dose per hour (MED/ h) at the  experimental site while minimum average UV-B irradiance was 1.72 MED/ h. The UV-B absorbing compounds and phenolics provide protection to these plants against UV-B radiation.Key words: Total chlorophyll, high altitude, pigments, UV-B absorbing compounds, UV-B radiation

Experimental investigation of performance of a single phase UPQC for voltage sensitive and non-linear loads

A unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) is proposed in this paper. It protects the consumer at the load end from supply voltage sag, and provides unity power factor condition at the utility for different values of load power factor. A PC-based closed loop control scheme is proposed and experimental investigation is carried out in the laboratory. Selected experimental results are reported along with control circuit and phasor diagram to validate the proposition

HAP-SAP: Semantic Annotation in LBSNs using Latent Spatio-Temporal Hawkes Process

The prevalence of location-based social networks (LBSNs) has eased the understanding of human mobility patterns. Knowledge of human dynamics can aid in various ways like urban planning, managing traffic congestion, personalized recommendation etc. These dynamics are influenced by factors like social impact, periodicity in mobility, spatial proximity, influence among users and semantic categories etc., which makes location modelling a critical task. However, categories which act as semantic characterization of the location, might be missing for some check-ins and can adversely affect modelling the mobility dynamics of users. At the same time, mobility patterns provide a cue on the missing semantic category. In this paper, we simultaneously address the problem of semantic annotation of locations and location adoption dynamics of users. We propose our model HAP-SAP, a latent spatio-temporal multivariate Hawkes process, which considers latent semantic category influences, and temporal and spatial mobility patterns of users. The model parameters and latent semantic categories are inferred using expectation-maximization algorithm, which uses Gibbs sampling to obtain posterior distribution over latent semantic categories. The inferred semantic categories can supplement our model on predicting the next check-in events by users. Our experiments on real datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model for the semantic annotation and location adoption modelling tasks.Comment: 11 page

Research Problem: What is the level of awareness about AIDS amongst senior secondary school teachers? Objective: To study the level of awareness, knowledge and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS amongst senior secondary school teachers. Study Design: Cross-sectional study by questionnaire method. Setting: 2 randomly selected government schools of East. Delhi. Sample Size: 74 school teachers. Study Variables: Mode of transmission, preventive measures, social outcasting, Family Life Style Education. Statistical Analysis: By tests of significance. Result: 25.6% respondents thought that HIV/AIDS was curable after IEC intervention. In general, the awareness level increased after the IEC intervention. 77% of the teachers recommended that Family Life Style Education should be started from middle school level onwards. 47.2% recommended doctors as the most suitable persons to impart the same
