STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN USAHA STRAWBERRY DI AGROWISATA PETIK STRAWBERRY

The application of appropriate strategies can encourage tourism development that emphasizes the tourism principle that tourism must depart from the awareness of the values ​​of community needs as an effort to build tourism that is more beneficial to the needs, initiatives and opportunities of local communities. This study aims to: analyze the strawberry picking agro-tourism development strategy in Pandanrejo Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City, analyze the factors that support the development of picking strawberry agro-tourism in Pandanrejo Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City, analyze the factors that hinder the development of picking agro-tourism strawberry in Pandanrejo Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City. The research location in strawberry picking agro-tourism in Pandanrejo Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City, East Java. Data obtained by the method of observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data was tested by using triangulation technique. This study uses a SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis show that strategies that can be carried out for the development of strawberry picking agro-tourism are optimizing facilities and improving servants and promotion of picking strawberry attractions, conducting product reservation by maximizing existing land, compiling tour packages with various price levels, working with travel agents and improving resource quality. human.Penerapan strategi yang sesuai dapat mendorong pengembangan pariwisata yang menekankan pada prinsip kepariwisataan bahwa pariwisata harus berangkat dari kesadaran nilai-nilai kebutuhan masyarakat sebagai upaya membangun pariwisata yang lebih bermanfaat bagi kebutuhan, inisiatif dan peluang masyarakat lokal. Penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk: menganlisis strategi pengembangan agrowisata petik strawberry di Desa Pandanrejo, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu, menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mendukung pengembangan agrowisata petik strawberry di Desa Pandanrejo, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu, menganalisis faktor-faktor yang menghambat pengembangan agrowisata petik strawberry di Desa Pandanrejo, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu. Lokasi penelitian di  agrowisata petik strawberry di Desa Pandanrejo, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu, Jawa Timur. Data diperoleh dengan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data diuji dengan teknik trianggulasi. Penelitian menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil analisis menunjukkan Strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk pengembangan agrowisata petik strawberry adalah Mengoptimalisasi fasilitas dan meningkatkan pelayan serta promosi objek wisata petik strawberry, melakukan diservikasi produk dengan memaksimalkan lahan yang ada, menyusun paket wisata dengan berbagai tingkat harga, bekerjasama dengan travel agent dan meningkatkan kualitas sumberdaya manusia

Identification of a Small Molecule Inhibitor of Bacterial AraC Family Activators

Protein members of the AraC family of bacterial transcriptional activators have great promise as targets for the development of novel antibacterial agents. Here, we describe an in vivo high throughput screen to identify inhibitors of the AraC family activator protein RhaS. The screen used two E. coli reporter fusions; one to identify potential RhaS inhibitors, and a second to eliminate non-specific inhibitors from consideration. One compound with excellent selectivity, OSSL_051168, was chosen for further study. OSSL_051168 inhibited in vivo transcription activation by the RhaS DNA-binding domain to the same extent as the full-length protein, indicating that this domain was the target of its inhibition. Growth curves showed that OSSL_051168 did not impact bacterial cell growth at the concentrations used in this study. In vitro DNA binding assays with purified protein suggest that OSSL_051168 inhibits DNA binding by RhaS. In addition, we found that it inhibits DNA binding by a second AraC family protein, RhaR, which shares 30% amino acid identity with RhaS. OSSL_051168 did not have a significant impact on DNA binding by the non-AraC family proteins CRP and LacI, suggesting that the inhibition is likely specific for RhaS, RhaR, and possibly additional AraC family activator proteins

BIM and mTOR expression levels predict outcome to erlotinib in EGFR-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer

Altres ajuts: Fellowship Award of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer i grant of the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC My First AIRC Grant n° 14282).Abstract.BIM is a proapoptotic protein that initiates apoptosis triggered by EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI). mTOR negatively regulates apoptosis and may influence response to EGFR TKI. We examined mRNA expression of BIM and MTOR in 57 patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC from the EURTAC trial. Risk of mortality and disease progression was lower in patients with high BIM compared with low/intermediate BIM mRNA levels. Analysis of MTOR further divided patients with high BIM expression into two groups, with those having both high BIM and MTOR experiencing shorter overall and progression-free survival to erlotinib. Validation of our results was performed in an independent cohort of 19 patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC treated with EGFR TKIs. In EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma cell lines with high BIM expression, concomitant high mTOR expression increased IC50 of gefitinib for cell proliferation. We next sought to analyse the signalling pattern in cell lines with strong activation of mTOR and its substrate P-S6. We showed that mTOR and phosphodiesterase 4D (PDE4D) strongly correlate in resistant EGFR-mutant cancer cell lines. These data suggest that the combination of EGFR TKI with mTOR or PDE4 inhibitors could be adequate therapy for EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients with high pretreatment levels of BIM and mTOR
