Optimization Production and Characterization of Bacterial Cellulose from Cornhusk

Cornhusks are agricultural wastes with low economic value that will cause environmental pollution if not appropriately handled. Cornhusk waste can be processed as raw material for bacterial cellulose (nata) since it contains 44% cellulose. This study aims to optimize bacterial cellulose production from cornhusks and determine the effect of cornhusk mass and fermentation duration on the characteristics of the nata produced. The primary process for producing bacterial cellulose from cornhusks was fermentation by Acetobacter xylinum. The nata characterization carried out in this study includes thickness, yield, crude fiber, and moisture content, as well as statistical analysis to determine whether there was significant effect of variations in cornhusk mass and fermentation duration on bacterial cellulose production. Based on the results of optimizing the production of nata from cornhusks, the optimal mass of cornhusks was of 25 grams with fermentation duration of 17 days. Based on the characterization and data analysis results, variation on the cornhusks mass and duration of the fermentation had a significant effect on fiber content, yield, and tensile strength of bacterial cellulose from cornhusks. On the other hand, the variations on cornhusks mass and the duration of fermentation did not significantly affect the moisture content and thickness of bacterial cellulose from cornhusks

This quantitative research aims to measure what amount of influence of village funds towards community empowerment at the tourist village of Pujon Kidul. It collected primary data from a closed questionnaire spreading randomly to 100 respondents. They include village administration, as well as youth and public figures. The questionnaire was valid and reliable, and the results were testable. The results of this research determined that the size of the predictor from the independent variable toward the dependent one is 0.528. Every increase in the dependent variable will raise the dependent variable by 0.768. Thus, village fund influences community empowerment which means that their influence is positive. Such a positive influence happens since the funding of village funds to empower the community has been sufficient as the priority at the tourist village of Pujon Kidul. Over time, the COVID-19 virus mutates and can spread rapidly, requiring more accurate treatment. Adequate treatment is essential for healing and reducing the spread of diseases. Moreover, nursing has become the main health workforce in controlling COVID-19. The study aims to test the relationship between nursing clinical experience and the accuracy of COVID-19 virulence scoring using the Early Warning System Score application. The study used a correlation analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The population used in this study was nurses who filled out questionnaires online in East Java. A sample of 311 respondents. The results showed a significant relationship between nursing clinical experience and accuracy of scoring virulence of COVID-19 using the Early Warning System Score application. Treatment of COVID-19 should remain in the evaluation, especially the provision of appropriate nursing care for patients with COVID-19 by nurses. Researchers can add clinical experience-supporting variables to find out the various compensators of nurses’ competence

This study investigates many employees who work in various industries, various levels, and they spread around many regions in Indonesia. The usable questionnaire was 327(81 percent response rate). the questionnaire validity and reliability test, path analysis using SmartPLS 3.0. The study results were employee satisfaction, employee involvement, perceived organizational support mediated between emotional intelligence and quality of work-life and the employee engagement, and organizational commitment was not mediated between emotional intelligence and quality of work life

Similarity Pertumbuhan Stek Pucuk Mangga (Mangifera Indica L.) Terhadap Respon Konsentrasi Iba (Indole Butyric Acid) Dan Macam Media Tanam

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is a fruit plant that has long been known and has become a commodity that has high economic value and is a trade commodity between countries. Vegetative propagation technique is an alternative to reproduce this type of plant. This study aims to: 1) Determine the concentration of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) which affects the growth of mango shoot cuttings (Mangifera indica L.). 2) Knowing the planting media that affect the growth of mango shoot cuttings (Mangifera indica L.). 3) To determine the interaction between the concentration of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) and the planting medium which influences the growth of mango shoot cuttings (Mangifera indica L.). The research was carried out using Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors. The first factor was the concentration of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) (0 ppm, 500 ppm and 1000 ppm) and the second factor was the planting medium (sand, husk charcoal and sand + husk charcoal) with 3 replications. The results of this study were 1) There was an effect of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) concentration treatment on the growth of mango shoot cuttings (Mangifera indica L.). The effect occurred on the percentage of growing cuttings, days of shoot break, shoot length, and number of leaves. 2) There is an effect of growing media treatment on the growth of mango shoot cuttings (Mangifera indica L.). The effect occurred on the percentage of growing cuttings, shoot length and number of leaves. 3) There was no interaction between the treatment of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) concentrations and the growing media on the growth of mango shoot cuttings (Mangifera indica L.)

STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN KLASTER INDUSTRI KERIPIK SINGKONG DI KABUPATEN BOJONEGORO MENGGUNAKAN METODE K-MEANS CLUSTERING DAN FUZZY AHP

Bojonegoro Regency has excellent agro-industry potential, namely cassava. These commodities can be processed into superior regional products, namely cassava chips. The center of the cassava chip industry is in the Gayam sub-district and the Kalitidu sub-district. The problems faced by the cassava chip industry in Bojonegoro Regency are currently in the raw materials, technology, product quality, business capital, marketing, and there is still no cluster division. This study aimed to determine clusters and improvement strategies in each cluster of the cassava chip industry. The method used is the K-means Clustering method and Fuzzy AHP. The study's results determined 2 clusters of cassava chips industry based on the performance of the cassava chips industry and the quality of their products. Cluster 1 consists of 3 cassava chip industries, and cluster 2 consists of 4 cassava chip industries. The strategy for developing the cassava chip industry in cluster 1 is to establish partnerships with raw materials suppliers, plant cassava on private land, and manage the handling and supply of raw materials. The development strategy for cluster 2 is to innovate products, innovate packaging designs and conduct comparative studies in other cassava chips industries
