El concepto de “interpelación fantasmagórica”: una propuesta teórica a partir de Walter Benjamin y Louis Althusser

This article aims at presenting the concept of “phantasmagorical interpellation”. This theoretical effort is inspired by Walter Benjamin’s concept of “phantasmagoria” and Louis Althusser’s concept of “ideological interpellation”. The proposal is to ally their respective philosophical work-in-progress in their “anthropological” and “aleatory” materialisms in order to provide a socio-political analysis of today’s capitalist aesthetics as displayed in postmodern architecture or the design of everyday life. The aim is also to open new perspectives of resistance to the normativity of the consumer imaginary using a critical interpretation of cultural creations (theatre, cinema…) which, following the inspiration of both authors, could reveal a new subject history capable of burst onto the scene of history.Este artículo quiere introducir al concepto de “interpelación fantasmagórica”. Este esfuerzo teórico está inspirado en los conceptos de “fantasmagoría”, de Walter Benjamin, y de “interpelación ideológica”, de Louis Althusser. El propósito es aliar sus respectivas filosofías en proceso en sus materialismos “antropológico” y “aleatorio” para un análisis socio-político de la estética capitalista de hoy, tal como aparece en la arquitectura posmoderna o en el diseño de la vida cotidiana. En suivant certaines indications du philosophe, il dégage cinq grandes familles du matérialisme anthropologique, en démontre le dénominateur commun, pour en proposer finalement une première définition minimale. Il montre comment le matérialisme anthropologique déplace le cadre conceptuel du matérialisme dialectique. Il se conclut sur la réouverture, avec une attention particulière portée à l’utopie, de la théorie critique, donnant ainsi une orientation globale au projet de la revue.This text aims at being a programmatic document. It draws the political portrait of Walter Benjamin as a “materialist anthropologist”, while at the same time providing with a theoretical direction for the journal. Following some indications of the philosopher, it brings out five kinds of anthropological materialism, demonstrating their common denominator, and proposes a first minimal definition of it. The text points out how anthropological materialism shifts the conceptual framework of dialectical materialism. It concludes with the re-opening of critical theory, with a particular focus on utopia, while at the same time defining the more general project outline of the journal.Este texto pretende ser programático. Como elaborar um passado traumático? O caso da Villa Grimaldi (Chile)

O Parque por la Paz Villa Grimaldi foi aberto ao público em Santiago, no Chile, em 1997, em um lugar onde, na época da ditadura militar daquele país (1973-1989), a polícia política de Pinochet torturava até a morte. O parque, um dos primeiros casos de transformação de um lugar de barbárie em um lugar de cultura e memória, mostra, no entanto, que a oposição entre “memória” e “recalque” não é suficiente para resumir a situação atual de confrontação entre uma amnésia organizada pelos (ex-)militares através das leis de (auto)anistia impostas à sociedade no momento da transição democrática e uma luta pelo reconhecimento conduzida pelos familiares das vítimas, seja no Chile, na Argentina, no Brasil ou em qualquer outra parte do mundo. Este caso ilustra que uma memória voluntarista que tenta estruturar uma memória pública pressupõe também um recorte que não impede o lugar escolhido de fazer ressurgir uma memória imprevista.The Parque por la Paz Villa Grimaldi opened its doors to the public in 1997, at the place where, at the times of military dictatorship (1973-1989), Pinochet’s political police tortured until death. One of the first cases of a site of barbarism turned into a site of culture and of memory, the park shows however that the opposition between “memory” and “repression” (in the Freudian sense) is not enough to sum up the actual situation of an opposition between an amnesia organized by (ex-)militaries through laws of (auto-)amnesty and the struggle for recognition leaded by families of the victims, be it in Chile, in Argentine, in Brazil, or in another part of the world. It is a good example that a voluntarist memory attempting to structure a public memory also presupposes a cut that doesn’t prevent the chosen site to make resurfacing an unexpected memory
