    Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) is a form of devotion, awareness, and responsibility to society. This program aims to contribute in implementations from Tri Dharma of University and  learning tools to increase the empathy and ability of the students to understand the reality and all the problems who grow and thrive in society. This report made by society 5.0 concept which uses modern technology such as internet, conference video, and any other mobile tools, for both in the implementation of the programs and the data collecting process. This report uses 2 types of data, those are primary data and secondary data. The result of this program are in form of 1 report, 2 e-books and 2 videos in regard to tourism potency and the cultivation of brown rice in Desa Balong. This program could be used for improving public’s knowledge especially for the citizen in Desa Balong in order to develop and utilize the potency and all the natural resources there refers to the scientific paper that generated by this program

    Wilayah pesisir merupakan wilayah yang paling rentan terhadap kerusakan ekologis. Salah satu jenis ekosistem yang rentan terhadap kerusakan tersebut adalah mangrove. Di Pesisir Surabaya, Jawa Timur, kawasan mangrove saat ini mengalami kerusakan yang parah sebagai akibat dari eksploitasi sumber  daya alam disekitar kawasan tersebut maupun adanya pembangunan fisik seperti wilayah perumahan yang tidak memerhatikan faktor kelestarian hutan mangrove. Dengan memanfaatkan data citra satelit ALOS maka luas lahan mangrove berserta tingkat kekritisan kawasan mangrove dapat dideteksi. Proses pengolahan citra ALOS menggunakan konsep penginderaan jauh dan sistem informasi geografis dimana inventarisasi kekritisan lahan mangrove mengacu kepada pedoman inventarisasi mangrove yang dikeluarkan oleh Departemen Kehutanan. Hasil pengolahan citra satelit ALOS menunjukkan tingkat kerusakan kawasan hutan mangrove mencapai 1071,77 hektar untuk level rusak dan 288,208 hektar untuk level sangat rusak sedangkan untuk level tidak rusak hanya mencapai 0,624 hektar dari total luas kawasan hutan mangrove yang mencapai 1360,604 hektar. Pengolahan kawasan mangrove melalui program rehabilitasi diharapkan dapat mengurangi tingkat kerusakan kawasan hutan mangrove. Kata Kunci: Mangrove, ALOS, Kekritisan Laha

    Iron-containing acid phosphatases: Characterization of the metal-ion binding site of the enzyme from pig allantoic fluid

    All of the iron can be removed from the violet acid phosphatase of pig allantoic fluid by treatment with sodium dithionite at pH 4.9. Of the two moles of iron present per mole of enzyme (40,000 g), half is lost rapidly, and the remainder much more slowly. Removal of half of the iron causes complete loss of acid phosphatase activity. Conditions have been defined for the isolation and complete reconstitution [by Fe(II) and β-mercaptoethanol] of two apoenzymes, designated "iron-free" and "one-iron" apoenzymes. Zn2+ ions restore most of the acid phosphatase activity to the one-iron apoenzyme but not to the iron-free enzyme. No metal ions other than Fe(II) and Fe(III) restore significant activity to the iron-free apoenzyme, but Zn(II) and Ni(II) bind tightly to it

    Background: Mesenchymal stem / stromal cell therapy (MSCs) is now an effective therapeutic modality for treating various diseases. In its application, stem cells require signaling molecules which can be growth factors, cytokines, or chemokines. Signal molecules work orderly and are greatly influenced by the physiological environment. Stem cell culture techniques with hypoxic conditions can produce growth factors close to physiological conditions in fractures. This study aims to perceive the different expressions of some growth factors in cultured normoxic and hypoxic BMSC.Methods: This study is an in vitro laboratory experimental study of normoxic Bone Marrow Stem Cells (BMSCs) and Hypoxic Bone Marrow Stem Cells (BMSCs) cultures. The BMSCs experimental unit was taken from rabbits and then propagated in vitro and cultured under two conditions, normoxia and hypoxia. Then the number of VEGF, TGF-β, BMP-2 growth fractures was observed using ELISA.Results: VEGF, TGF-β, and BMP-2 expressions showed significant differences between the normoxia and hypoxia groups. VEGF, TGF-β, and BMP-2 expression were higher in the hypoxia group compared with the normoxia group (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The expression analysis of TGFβ-1, VEGF, and BMP-2 growth factors in cultured BMSC were statistically significant between normoxic and hypoxic conditions. TGFβ-1, VEGF, and BMP-2 expressions increase in hypoxic conditions

    Iron-containing acid phosphatases: Comparison of the enzymes from beef spleen and pig allantoic fluid

    The iron-containing violet acid phosphatases from beef spleen and pig allantoic fluid have been purified to homogeneity. Molecular weight determinations by zonal gel filtration, SDS-gel electrophoresis, and ultracentrifugation support values close to 40,000 for both enzymes, necessitating reappraisal of literature values. Similarly, the equivalent weight for iron is close to 20,000 for both enzymes, indicating the presence of two iron atoms per molecule of enzyme. The enzymes also have very similar ultraviolet and visible spectra, with λmax values close to 550 nm, and ε{lunate}550 values(in terms of iron) of 2.04 × 103 and 2.00 × 103 for the beef spleen and pig allantoic fluid enzymes respectively
