REMM-Studio: an Integrated Model-Driven Environment for Requirements Specification, Validation and Formatting

    Get PDF
In order to integrate requirements into the current Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) approach, the traditional document-based requirements specification process should be changed into a requirements modelling process. To achieve this we propose a requirements metamodel called REMM Requirements Engineering MetaModel) which includes the elements that should appear in a requirements model (requirements, stakeholders, test cases, etc.) together with the relationships that may appear between them. This metamodel is the basis of the REMM-Studio environment which enables: (1) to build graphical requirements models, (2) to validate them against the metamodel and against a set of additional OCL constraints, and (3) to automatically generate a navigable Software Requirements Specification (SRS) document as the main deliverable of the Requirements Engineering process. REMM-Studio is expected to ease the integration of requirements with other development models (e.g. component models) and to facilitate the validation of the SRS thanks to its navigability.MEDWSA (TIN2006-15175-C05-02), DEDALO (TIN2006-15175-C05-03), DESERT (PBC-05-012-3)Escuela Técnica superior de Ingeniería Agronómic

The brand #CuritibaSuaLinda is an initiative of Curitiba City Hall, through an action with the Municipal Institute of Tourism and the public transportation company URBS (Urbanization of Curitiba). It was created to replace the former brand of souvenirs Leve Curitiba. Marketing is responsible for the communication and intermediation between the company and its customers. The strategy outlined by the 4Ps are of fundamental importance for marketing planning. The main objective was to identify the marketing strategies of the souvenir brand #CuritibaSuaLinda. Exploratory research was carried out, with a qualitative approach and descriptive analyses in which a need was perceived for the brand to keep abreast of new market trends and its own marketing positioning. Some shortfalls were seen in relation to the marketing planning, as well as a lack of strategies for its divulgation, particularly in the online environment

Helminth Infections: Recognition and Modulation of the Immune Response by Innate Immune Cells

    Get PDF
The survival of helminths in the host over long periods of time is the result of a process of adaptation or dynamic co-evolution between the host and the parasite. However, infection with helminth parasites causes damage to the host tissues producing the release of danger signals that induce the recruitment of various cells, including innate immune cells such as macrophages (Mo), dendritic cells (DCs), eosinophils, basophils, and mast cells. In this scenario, these cells are able to secrete soluble factors, which orchestrate immune effector mechanisms that depend on the different niches these parasites inhabit. Here, we focus on recent advances in the knowledge of excretory-secretory products (ESP), resulting from helminth recognition by DCs and Mo. Phagocytes and other cells types such as innate lymphocyte T cells 2 (ILC2), when activated by ESP, participate in an intricate cytokine network to generate innate and adaptive Th2 responses. In this review, we also discuss the mechanisms of innate immune cell-induced parasite killing and the tissue repair necessary to assure helminth survival over long periods of time.Fil: Motran, Claudia Cristina. A PERSPECTIVA SOBRE O ERRO DOS ALUNOS DE PROFESSORES DE MATEMÁTICA DA RECUPERAÇÃO INTENSIVA: ALGUMAS CONSIDERAÇÕES

    Get PDF

Trypanosoma cruzi Exploits Wnt Signaling Pathway to Promote Their Intracellular Replication in Macrophages

    Get PDF
During the acute phase of Trypanosoma cruzi infection, macrophages can act as host cells for the parasites as well as effector cells in the early anti-parasitic immune response. Thus, the targeting of specific signaling pathways could modulate macrophages response to restrict parasite replication and instruct an appropriate adaptive response. Recently, it has become evident that Wnt signaling has immunomodulatory functions during inflammation and infection. Here, we tested the hypothesis that during T. cruzi infection, the activation of Wnt signaling pathway in macrophages plays a role in modulating the inflammatory/tolerogenic response and therefore regulating the control of parasite replication. In this report, we show that early after T. cruzi infection of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMM), β-catenin was activated and Wnt3a, Wnt5a, and some Frizzled receptors as well as Wnt/β-catenin pathway's target genes were upregulated, with Wnt proteins signaling sustaining the activation of Wnt/β-catenin pathway and then activating the Wnt/Ca+2 pathway. Wnt signaling pathway activation was critical to sustain the parasite's replication in BMM; since the treatments with specific inhibitors of β-catenin transcriptional activation or Wnt proteins secretion limited the parasite replication. Mechanistically, inhibition of Wnt signaling pathway armed BMM to fight against T. cruzi by inducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase activity and by downregulating arginase activity. Likewise, in vivo pharmacological inhibition of the Wnts' interaction with its receptors controlled the parasite replication and improved the survival of lethally infected mice. It is well established that T. cruzi infection activates a plethora of signaling pathways that ultimately regulate immune mediators to determine the modulation of a defined set of effector functions in macrophages. In this study, we have revealed a new signaling pathway that is activated by the interaction between protozoan parasites and host innate immunity, establishing a new conceptual framework for the development of new therapies.Fil: Volpini, Ximena.
