A senior manufacturing laboratory for determining injection molding process capability

    Get PDF
The following is a laboratory experiment designed to further understanding of materials science. This subject material is directed at an upper level undergraduate/graduate student in an Engineering or Engineering Technology program. It is assumed that the student has a thorough understanding of the process and quality control. The format of this laboratory does not follow that which is normally recommended because of the nature of process capability and that of the injection molding equipment and tooling. This laboratory is instead developed to be used as a point of departure for determining process capability for any process in either a quality control laboratory or a manufacturing environment where control charts, process capability, and experimental or product design are considered important topics

Observable Gravity Waves from Supersymmetric Hybrid Inflation II

It is shown that a tensor-to-scalar ratio close to r = 0.03, which can be observed by Planck, is realized in supersymmetric hybrid inflation models with TeV-scale soft supersymmetry breaking terms. This extends our previous analysis, which also found r <~ 0.03 but employed intermediate scale soft terms. Other cosmological observables such as the scalar spectral index are in good agreement with the WMAP data.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

Palvelun laadun mittaamisen kehittäminen Case: Turvatiimi Oyj

    Get PDF
Turvatiimi Oyj:n pääkaupunkiseudun pääprosesseille on myönnetty ISO 9001:2000 – laatuserti-fikaatti. Development of service quality assessment Case: Turvatiimi Oyj The main processes of Turvatiimi Oyj, in the metropolitan area, have been awarded an ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate. The security services of the metropolitan area, within the scope of the quality system, include 24/7 alarm center services, patrol guarding services, static guarding services and receptionist services. Turvatiimi is working on developing the quality of its services and their assessment. The focal point of this thesis is the development of Turvatiimi quality assessment in respect to internal auditing and customer satisfaction. This thesis is both functional and based on work experience. I mapped out the present situation of the assessment of the quality of services provided by Turvatiimi Oyj and their customer satisfaction in order to identify areas requiring development. This was done using a qualitative survey. Data was gathered using a structured interview, also known as a questionnaire. The questionnaire was given to a sample of 35 members of Turvatiimi personnel who are either the contact person or in charge of customers, 26 of these replied. Upon analyzing the answers to the questionnaires, I decided to develop the internal auditing system of Turvatiimi, its functionality and its similarity independent of external factors, such as company branch or personnel. Another area requiring improvement was the assessment of customer satisfaction. During this thesis, Turvatiimi management began to prepare a wide ranged customer satisfaction survey aimed at most of its metropolitan area customers. For this reason, I decided to develop a short, customized questionnaire regarding the services provided by a particular branch. This questionnaire was designed to be carried out in unison with internal auditing

Red Spectral Tilt and Observable Gravity Waves in Shifted Hybrid Inflation

We consider supersymmetric shifted hybrid inflation models with a red tilted scalar spectral index n_s in agreement with the WMAP 7-yr central value. If non-minimal supergravity corrections are included, these models can also support a tensor-to-scalar ratio as large as r = 0.02, which may be observable by the Planck Satellite. In contrast to the standard supersymmetric hybrid inflation scenario, topological defects produced via gauge symmetry breaking are inflated away in the shifted version of the theory.Comment: 22 pages, 4 figures, and 1 tabl

Trans i queerdebatt - Revolutionen som uteblev?

Trans in queer debates - the revolution that did not happen?Trans people have become an ideological battle ground in parts of gender and queer studies. The article traces the trans/queer relation in international scholarly debates from an enthusiastic exchange of ideas in the 1990s to increasing mutual criticism and mistrust around the turn of the millennium as queer was seen by some as a problematic approach that easily ends up in erasure of trans people's subjective experiences, and further to attempts to bridge such splits that had emerged. Finally, I discuss how queer perspectives seem to have contributed to increased flexibility in medical and legal approaches even if they are criticised for being illequipped for sociological analyses

Efficacy of available treatments for children and adolescents with behavioral diagnosis as measured by resiliency and CAFAS scores

    Get PDF
Many treatment options are available to children and adolescents with behavioral disorders who seek services from CMHCs. Little research addresses the efficacy of these services. This researcher examined data from existing clinical records. ANOVA and MANOVA were calculated to determine effects of treatment setting on change in CAFAS and resiliency scores and to determine if any difference in treatment exists between those clients who improved on resiliency and CAFAS scores and those who didn\u27t. Clients receiving services in the office and natural setting showed greater improvement on BRC risk scores than clients receiving only office-based services. Clients who showed improvement on CAFAS scores received significantly less school-based individual therapy. Clients who showed improvement on BRC scores received significantly less office-based individual therapy. These results suggest that providing mental health services to this population in multiple settings is more effective than office-based treatment only

Secondary Traumatic Stress: Therapists’ Past Trauma and Workplace Interventions

    Get PDF
Secondary traumatic stress (STS) is a type of indirect trauma wherein listening to the traumatic experiences of another causes a stress reaction. STS can lead to PTSD-like symptoms which can develop after only one instance. STS affects mental health professionals at high rates because they have high rates of exposure to traumatic content. In particular, therapists with a personal trauma history have an increased risk of developing STS, as they are more likely to identify with their client’s traumatic experience. This review examines how therapists’ STS severity and frequency is impacted by a personal trauma history. It also identifies workplace factors shown to help reduce severity and frequency STS, such as increasing social support, implementing training techniques, and properly managing therapists’ caseloads. Potential future directions in this area of research are suggested
