MMU applications for automated rendezvous and capture
The Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) is a proven free flying platform that can operate in a piloted or unpiloted mode. The MMU is a possible candidate for an on orbit AR&C demonstration. A pilot can transition the system between manual and automated modes, then monitor the automated system for safety
Thai Contextualized Art
In the 1980s, a set of four murals depicting four specific and unique Adventist teachings and beliefs was commissioned by Pastor Clifton Maberly who was serving as a missionary in Thailand. His goal was to have these events depicted in a medium familiar to local Thai buddhists so they could wrestle with the new concepts without being distracted by Western art styles. His hope was that if Jesus, Satan and the angels could be depicted using characters similar to those already familiar to the Thai, the viewer would be better able to focus on and understand the truth portrayed in the paintings—the story of the Great Controversy
New Testament Prayer as Found in the Epistle of James
Perhaps one may question, Why another study on prayer? Indeed volumes have been written on the subject much more eloquent and thorough than this study. But this may only further underscore the importance of the topic. In the New Testament alone there are well over 250 direct or indirect references to prayer. The commands to pray and the promises attached to prayer are many. This writer is convinced that as long as there are Christians in the world they will need to study this thing called prayer. And as long as there are Christians praying, prayer and its applications can never be exhausted
Proposed Research Instrument for Establishing a Baseline Measurement of Buddhist Background Believers
My plan for this survey is to create a self-administered questionnaire. What makes this a preferred method of research is that it can be conducted quickly using a drop-and-collect technique by national church leaders sending the survey packets to local church leaders to then distribute to willing participants. Self-administered questionnaires are relatively inexpensive and respondents are not influenced by the interviewer or her bias. Another advantage is that this type of survey allows longer batteries of questions than you could ask in person as well as giving the respondent anonymity. The disadvantages include that there is no control over how the people will interpret the questions, one must take steps to ensure high involvement rates, and one cannot be sure that the respondent who received the survey is the one who filled it out (Bernard 2006:258-261). Under the research requirements, however, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

Public programs on the high line
textThis study examined the underlying principles and decision-making processes that guided the creation of public programs at the High Line, a linear park and public space in New York City. To explore these underlying principles, three individuals who had the most influence on programming the first formative years of the High Line, were interviewed, Danya Sherman–Former Director of Programs, Education & Community Engagement; Emily Pinkowitz–Deputy Director of Programs & Education; and Abby Ehrlich–Director of Parks Programming at Battery Park City Parks Conservancy and Founding Play Environment & Program Consultant for Friends of the High Line. Emerging from the interviews were five underlying principles that had great influence on the High Line’s public programs: (a) a Commitment to Create a Welcoming Environment; (b) the Acknowledgement of the Significance of Audience Development; (c) a Dedication to High Standards in Programming; (d) the Recognition of a Unique Space; and (e) Acknowledging Future Growth Opportunities and Improvements. Final conclusions result in the recognition of how these five principles contribute to our understandings regarding the development of art education within community settings.Art Educatio

Prolegomena to a Theology of Eschatological Leadership: 13 Leadership Principles for the End Time Gleaned from the Book of Revelation
Jesus entrusted his disciples with leadership. That leadership was to be exercised on behalf of his mission to seek and save the lost in all the world before his return. This mission work will reach a climax during the time of the end before Christ’s promised return. This article explores the book of Revelation for clues concerning leadership qualities required for this task. The article will support the discussion of these leadership qualities with contributions from contemporary authors on the topic.
Developing a theology of eschatological leadership is a daunting task and will require a broader discussion than what one author can contribute. This article consists of three parts. The first part proposes a working definition of the time of the end—the eschatological period that will couch the specialized focus of this article. A survey of selected eschatological passages in Revelation will follow. The purpose of this survey is to identify the nature of the events and themes focusing on the period of time, technically defined as “the time of the end,” and then to extrapolate leadership implications from these passages. In the final section, the identified leadership implications will be further discussed and compared with contemporary literature on leadership principles to propose a theology of eschatological leadership
