Remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon polluted systems: Exploiting the bioremediation strategies

The irrepressible quest for a cheap source of energy to meet the extensive global industrialization demand has expanded the frontiers of petroleum hydrocarbon exploration. These exploration activities amongst others often result in pollution of the environment, thus creating serious imbalance in the biotic and abiotic regimes of the ecosystem. Several remediation alternatives have been in use for the restoration of petroleum hydrocarbon polluted systems. ALMA 690 GHz observations of IRAS 16293-2422B: Infall in a highly optically-thick disk

We present sensitive, high angular resolution ($\sim$ 0.2 arcsec) submillimeter continuum and line observations of IRAS 16293-2422B made with the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA). The 0.45 mm continuum observations reveal a single and very compact source associated with IRAS 16293-2422B. This submillimeter source has a deconvolved angular size of about 400 {\it milli-arcseconds} (50 AU), and does not show any inner structure inside of this diameter. The H$^{13}$CN, HC$^{15}$N, and CH$_{3}$OH line emission regions are about twice as large as the continuum emission and reveal a pronounced inner depression or "hole" with a size comparable to that estimated for the submillimeter continuum. We suggest that the presence of this inner depression and the fact that we do not see inner structure (or a flat structure) in the continuum is produced by very optically thick dust located in the innermost parts of IRAS 16293-2422B. All three lines also show pronounced inverse P-Cygni profiles with infall and dispersion velocities larger than those recently reported from observations at lower frequencies, suggesting that we are detecting faster, and more turbulent gas located closer to the central object. Finally, we report a small east-west velocity gradient in IRAS 16293-2422B that suggests that its disk plane is likely located very close to the plane of the sky.Comment: Accepted to ApJ

Exilio, padecimiento y restitución en Libertad condicional de Pedro Salvador Ale

Maestría en Literatura Mexicana Contemporánea.Con este estudio se pretende dar a conocer la poesía de Pedro Salvador Ale, La justificación central de esta investigación consiste en caracterizar y definir los fenómenos de la poesía exiliar en este autor a partir del padecimiento de la voz lírica y de su restitución, porque que no hay otro libro de poesía que muestre, en una misma unidad, este universo donde la identidad presenta un problema de rompimiento y, a la vez, la reversión del daño. La pregunta motivadora de este tratado sobre la poesía del exilio se formuló de la siguiente manera: ¿Libertad condicional puede considerarse una obra determinada por el padecimiento del destierro (el sufrimiento frente a la violencia del poder ejercida sobre el individuo y la colectividad) de su autor, Pedro Salvador Ale, exiliado en México?; es decir, ¿ de qué manera la forma y sus recursos en este libro se hallan implicados con los acontecimientos trascendentes de la historia inmediata? Ahora bien, el objetivo general de este trabajo, es analizar e interpretar Libertad condicional, tanto en sus recursos estilísticos y discursivos, como en su temática y otros fenómenos de carácter formal e imaginativo, con un análisis pormenorizado del texto y el señalamiento de sus vínculos con las reflexiones sobre literatura y exilio que han realizado autores como George Steiner, Czeslaw Milosz y Joseph Brodsky, Claudio Guillén, Josep Solanes y Angelina Muñiz-Huberman, entre otros exiliados de diferentes latitudes. Los dos grupos que se mencionan aquí atienden a modalidades de pensamiento diferente; el primero se enfoca más en el binomio de poesía y sociedad, y el segundo en la tradición poética. Algoritmos de transferência de redes LTE em meios de transporte massivo

Handover in LTE occurs when a device moves from the cell coverage serving it towards another; a process where the user established session must not be interrupted due to this cell change. Handovers in LTE are classified as hard ones, since the link with the serving cell is interrupted before establishing the new link with the target cell. This entails a larger failure risk and, consequently, a potential deterioration in the quality of service. This article presents a review of the handover algorithms in LTE, focusing on the ones oriented to massive means of transport. We show how the new algorithms offer a larger success in handovers, increasing the networkdata rate. This indicates that factors such as speed, position, and direction should be included in the algorithms to improve the handover in means of transport. We also present the algorithms focused on mobile relays such as an important study field for future research works.El traspaso en LTE se presenta cuando un equipo pasa de la cobertura de una celda a la de otra, un proceso en el que se debe asegurar que el usuario no vea interrumpida su sesión, como efecto de ese cambio de celda. Los traspasos en LTE son del tipo duro, en ellos, el enlace con la celda servidora se interrumpe antes de establecer el nuevo enlace con la celda destino, lo que conlleva a un mayor riesgo de falla y con ello a un probable deterioro de la calidad del servicio al usuario. Este artículo revisa algoritmos de traspaso LTE, enfocándose en aquellos orientados a medios de trasporte masivo. Muestra cómo los nuevos algoritmos ofrecen una tasa mayor de traspasos exitosos y con ello una mejor tasa de transferencia de datos; evidencia que factores como la velocidad, la posición y la dirección deben ser incluidos en los algoritmos dirigidos a mejorar el traspaso en medios de transporte; y presenta a los algoritmos enfocados en relays móviles, como un importante campo de estudio para futuras investigaciones.A transferência em LTE ocorre quando um dispositivo passa da cobertura de uma célula para outra, um processo no qual deve ser assegurado que o usuário não veja sua sessão interrompida, como resultado dessa mudança de célula. As transferências em LTE são do tipo duro, nelas, o link com a célula do servidor é interrompido antes de se estabelecer o novo link com a célula alvo, o que leva a um maior risco de falha e, portanto, a uma provável deterioração da qualidade do serviço ao usuário. Este artigo revisa os algoritmos de transferência LTE, com foco naqueles orientados a meios de transporte massivo. Mostra como os novos algoritmos oferecem uma taxa maior de transferências bem-sucedidas e, com isso, uma melhor taxa de transferência de dados; evidencia de que fatores como a velocidade, a posição e a direção devem ser incluídos nos algoritmos que visam melhorar a transferência nos meios de transporte; e apresenta os algoritmos focados em relés móveis, como um importante campo de estudo para futuras pesquisas

Spectra of ergot alkaloids produced by Claviceps purpurea 1029c in solid-state fermentation system : influence of the composition of liquid medium used for impregnating sugar-cane pith bagasse

A total of 16 different combinations of the liquid nutrient medium used for impregnating sugar-cane pith bagasse have been evaluated for the production of total alkaloids by #Claviceps purpurea$ 1029c in a solid-state fermentation system, and for their effects on the spectra of the alkaloids produced. The data indicated large differences in the alkaloids spectra. Potential of solid state fermentation for production of ergot alkaloids

Production of total ergot alkaloids by #Claviceps fusiformis in solid state fermentation was 3.9 times higher compared to that in submerged fermentation. Production was equal in the case of #Claviceps purpurea but the spectra of alkaloids were advantageous with the use of solid state fermentation. Solid substrate mediated changes in ergot alkaloid spectra in solid state fermentation system

Use of different solid substrates resulted in minor alterations in total alkaloid production by #Claviceps purpurea$ 1029c in solid state fermentation system but the changes in the spectra of ergot alkaloids were of significantly higher magnitudes. Ergonovine accounted for 93% of the total alkaloid production in wheat grain medium while lysergic acid derivatives and ergonovine comprised of 66% and 32% of total alkaloids in rye grain medium. In contrast, ergonovine, ergotamine, and lysergic acid derivatives were 35, 35, and 25% respectively of the total alkaloids with the use of sugar cane pith bagasse impregnated with sucrose.
