The title complex, [Pd(C2H2N3S2)2(C18H15P)2]·2C2H6OS·0.5H2O, was obtained from the reaction of trans-[(Ph3P)2PdCl2] with 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thione (SSNH2) in a 2:1 molar ratio. The PdII atom, located in a crystallographic center of symmetry, has a square-planar geometry with two triphenylphosphine P-coordinated molecules and two SSNH2 ligands with the S atoms in a trans conformation. The latter ligand exhibits N—H⋯N hydrogen-bonding contacts formed by the amino group with the thiadiazole ring, generating a chain along the c axis. The asymmetric unit contains one half of the complex molecule along with disordered dimethyl sulfoxide and water molecules

Radiological characteristics and diagnostic impact of duplicated right adrenal veins on adrenal venous sampling in primary aldosteronism

PURPOSEWe aimed to analyze the prevalence and radiological characteristics of duplicated right adrenal veins (DRAVs) and evaluate the diagnostic impact of adrenal venous sampling (AVS) in primary aldosteronism.METHODSDRAVs were retrospectively identified among patients who underwent segmental AVS between April 2017 and March 2020. DRAVs were defined as main or accessory according to the drainage area. The diameter, position, hormone levels, and treatment plan based on AVS were compared between main and accessory RAVs, using the Wilcoxon rank-sum test.RESULTSFourteen of 432 patients (3.2%) were diagnosed with DRAVs. On venography, the mean diameters of the main and accessory side were 3±0.63 mm and 2.1±0.41 mm, respectively, and were significantly different (p < 0.001). The mean relative position in craniocaudal direction of main and accessory veins from the adrenal caudal edge on computed tomography was 65.5%±16.0%, and 48.1%±16.8%, respectively, which was significantly different (p = 0.007). The left–right positions and hormone levels were not significantly different. Based on conventional AVS, the treatment plan between DRAVs was not changed in six of eight patients, but changed from surgery to medication in two patients with right aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA)/microadenoma based on segmental AVS findings.CONCLUSIONDRAVs, in which the main RAV was thicker and more cranially located than the accessory RAV were rare. Depending on blood sampled from either of DRAVs, the diagnosis made through conventional AVS might change treatment approach from surgery to medication, especially with right APA. Hence, their identification is important to make an accurate subtyping by AVS

The employment of the commercial availiable organic ligand 2-mercapto-4-methyl-5-thiazoleacetic acid (H2L) in Zn and Cd chemistry yields two-dimensional (2D) coordation polymers (CPs) with pseudopolymorphic character. Thermal, catalytic and conductivity studies are discussed

Uses and tourist residences in the seaside resorts of Hauts-de-France : towards a hybridization of functions and practices

The tourist functions of the seaside resorts of Northern France are being reexamined following the increase in the number of second homes, the majority of whose owners are retired. Their role thus influences the uses and services of these places, which have to respond to a greater flexibility in terms of presence, supported by mobility and infrastructure (Stock, 2006). The behavior of retired secondary residents reflects a hybridization of the uses of the territory between residentiality (seeking services, peace and quiet, and daily activities) and touristicity (seeking leisure activities and recreation for themselves and their grandchildren during the school vacations in a place that is not part of the daily routine) (Knafou et al., 1997 ; Talendier, Jousseaume, 2013). This development responds to a questioning of the status of this population that challenges the definition of a secondary resident as a tourist, set by the UNWTO and taken up by national institutions (Stock et al., 2017). This status blurring also questions the choices of municipalities in resort development and investment plans for maintaining a dynamic resort economy (Morice et al., 2008). This thesis proposes to review this status of touris for secondary residents, through a study conducted in four seaside resorts in northern France, among retired secondary residents, which, through their knowledge of the territory and their experience of living in these places, makes it possible to understand the complexity of their living habits and to provide a clearer vision in the choices of land use planning of seaside resorts
