A note on a conjecture on consistent cycles
Let â–«â–« denote a finite digraph and let â–«â–« be a subgroup of its automorphism group. A directed cycle â–«â–« ofâ–« â–« is called â–«â–«-consistent whenever there is an element of â–«â–« whose restriction toâ–« â–« is the 1-step rotation of â–«â–«. In this short note we provea conjecture on â–«â–«-consistent directed cycles stated by Steve Wilson
On vertex-stabilizers of bipartite dual polar graphs
Let â–«â–« denote vertices of a bipartite dual polar graph, and let â–«â–« and â–«â–« denote the stabilizers of â–«â–« and â–«â–« in the full automorphism group of this graph. In this paper, a description of the orbits of â–«â–« in the cases when the distance between â–«â–« and â–«â–« is 1 or 2, is given
Higher Education and the World of Work: New Relationship Through Bologna Process
This paper builds on contemporary discourse on the response of higher education institutions to the needs of society. It reflects on the changing strategic paradigm in the field of higher education within the modern socio-economic context. The paper focuses on the redefinition of the relationship between employers and higher education, encouraged by the Bologna Process. The employability of graduates as the basic link between the world of work and higher education is examined with particular attention on the role and importance of employers as stakeholders in higher education. The findings of the paper are compared with the actual stage of implementation of the Bologna Process at the University of Prishtinë/Priština
Distance-unbalancedness of graphs
In this paper we propose and study a new structural invariant for graphs,
called distance-unbalanced\-ness, as a measure of how much a graph is
(un)balanced in terms of distances. Explicit formulas are presented for several
classes of well-known graphs. Distance-unbalancedness of trees is also studied.
A few conjectures are stated and some open problems are proposed.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figure
Imagining higher education in the European knowledge economy:Discourse and ideas in communications of the EU
The paper focuses on the role of EU institutions in European higher education. Following the outset of the EU Lisbon Strategy (2000), the EU Commission positioned itself as an influential venue for generating, coordinating and communicating discourse on higher education (within the Bologna Process and beyond). Gradually, the scattered ideas converged into a relatively detailed set of policy proposals on the systemic and institutional reforms needed to engage higher education in the regional economic project. The ideas evolved within the imagined knowledge economy. The dominance of this political rationale has resulted in the steady advance of the Europeanisation of higher education, including the incremental tendency to transfer national competencies to supranational arenas - so far limited to soft instruments such as recommendations, guidelines, reporting and common actions
