    We report on new results for the spectrum of quarkonia using a fully relativistic approach on anisotropic lattices with quark masses in the range from strange to bottom. A fine temporal discretisation also enables us to resolve excitations high above the ground state.     A visual approach to measuring personality systems

    A visual approach to measuring implicit personality systems is explored in this article. Six scales, consisting of optical stimuli (icons), were developed by conducting factor analyses using data from 3 studies with more than 70.000 participants. Internal consistencies and testretest-correlations of the six scales were satisfactory. Incremental validity of the visual scales was examined in 3 studies (N = 232). Results from regression analyses showed that the visual scales are distinct from self-report scales and can explain additional variances in behaviorally anchored rating scales and supervisor ratings. The gain in explained variance beyond selfreport measures was on average 140% in the three studies. The authors conclude that measuring personality dimensions via a visual method can make a significant contribution in explaining implicit information processing and behavior and deserves consideration in applied settings. For example, using visuals that are consistent with implicit versus explicit personality systems of the key audience may deepen our understanding of advertising effectiveness, media use and consumer behavior. --implicit,personality systems interaction,PSI-theory,visual questionnaire (ViQ),Jungian typology

    Perfect Gauge Actions on Anisotropic Lattices

    On anisotropic lattices, where generally the lattice is rather coarse in spatial directions, a parametrized classically perfect action could help reducing lattice artifacts considerably. We investigate the possibility of constructing such actions for SU(3) gauge theory. We present two different methods to do so, either repeating the procedure used to create our newly parametrized isotropic FP action, or performing one single step starting with the isotropic result. The anisotropic action is parametrized using an ansatz including anisotropically APE-like smeared (``fat'') links. The parametrized classically perfect action with anisotropy Îľ=as/at=2\xi=a_s/a_t=2 is constructed and the renormalized anisotropy is measured using the torelon dispersion relation.     A description of an improved version of the NASA/Lockheed multi-element airfoil analysis computer program is presented. The improvements include several major modifications of the aerodynamic model as well as substantial changes of the computer code. The modifications of the aerodynamic model comprise the representation of the boundary layer and wake displacement effects with an equivalent source distribution, the prediction of wake parameters with Green's lag-entrainment method, the calculation of turbulent boundary layer separation with the method of Nash and Hicks, the estimation of the onset of confluent boundary layer separation with a modified form of Goradia's method, and the prediction of profile drag with the formula of Squire and Young. The modifications of the computer program for which the structured approach to computer software development was employed are also described. Important aspects of the structured program development such as the functional decomposition of the aerodynamic theory and its numerical implementation, the analysis of the data flow within the code, and the application of a pseudo code are discussed
