    Tujuan kajian ini dibuat adalah untuk mengetahui punca-punca kegagalan pelatih-pelatih dalam menghadapi Peperiksaan Kemahiran Malaysia bagi kursus Kejuruteraan A warn yang dikendalikan oleh Majlis Latihan Vokasional Kebangsaan (MLVK). Pelatih-pelatih ini telah mengikuti latihan kemahiran selama lebih kurang dua tahun di mana sebahagian daripada mereka adalah terdiri daripada guru-guru iepasan Maktab Perguruan Teknik yang telah mempunyai banyak pengalaman dan kemahiran tetapi turut gagal apabila menduduki peperiksaan kemahiran tersebut khasnya pada Tahap Pertengahan dan Tinggi. Kajian ini dilakukan melalui kaedah soal selidek dan temubual terhadap responden yang terdiri daripada pengajarpengajar di mstitusi-institusi kemahiran. Hasil daripada kajian ini akan dapat memberitahu pihak-pihak yang berkenaan mengenai punca-punca sebenar mengapa terjadinya kegagalan pelatih dalam sistem penilaian secara peperiksaan. Seterusnya, seteiah mengenalpasti segala kelebihan dan kelemahan di antara kaedah penilaian secara peperiksaan dan pentauliahan adalah diharapkan kajian ini akan menjadi garis panduan kepada institusi-institusi kemahiran untuk memilih sama ada untuk menggunakan sistem penilaian secara peperiksaan ataupun pentauliahan yang mana sistem pentauliahan ini telah diperkenalkan pada tahun 1993. Dengan ini adalah diharapkan peratus kelulusan bagi kursus-kusus kemahiran dalam bidang Kejuruteraan Awam dapat ditingkatkan lagi pada masa akan datang tanpa menjejaskan kualiti latihan kemahiran yang sedia ada

    The effect of plant population maize (Zea mays L.) cultivar (Pioneer 3901) and AMT and Matara cultivars of soyabeans (Glucine max (L) Merill) grown together in an intercropping system was studied. In the experiment three rows of maize were sown at populations of 6, 8, 10 plants/m2 and three rows of soyabeans were planted between the rows of maize at either 50 or 75 plants/m2 replacing one of the three rows of maize. Plants were sampled for vegetative analysis during the growth of the crops and at final harvest. Total dry matter, grain yield and the components of yield and leaf area index were determined. Grain yield of maize increased from 794 to 1522 g/m 2 as the population of maize increased. However the yield of the maize was not affected by either the cultivar or the populations of the soyabeans grown among it. Grain yield and the component of yield of the intercropped soyabeans were not affected when population of maize in the mixture was increased. Matara produced higher yields than AMT when grown with maize and this was associated with production of more grain per plant and larger seeds. As the plant population of the soyabeans was increased the grain yield of Matara increased and up to 336.9 g/m2 was obtained, however the yield of AMT was not affected by a similar increase in plant population, possibily Matara had greater temporal difference and was more competative than AMT when grown in the mixture. Three methods were used to evaluate the yield of intercropped plots. These were the seed yield summed for both crops, Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) and a yield ratio based on maize. Although the results obtained depended on the method used all the three methods indicated intercropping could be more advantageous than growing maize and soya­ beans as pure stands. All the three methods indicated that the highest yield was obtained when the highest population of maize was combined with the highest population of soyabeans. Higher yields were obtained when Matara rather than AMT was grown in the intercropped plots

    Characterization of graphite polyurethanes composite from renewable based oils

    This thesis aims to evaluate the characterization of graphite polyurethane composite from renewable based oils. Virgin cooking oil (VCO) as a renewable resource is the main substance in fabricating the renewable polyurethane (PU) and its graphite as called polyurethane graphite (PG). The fabricating sample have two methods that is open casting and heat press method. PU and PG with different percentage of graphite as filler were investigated for structural, morphological, physical and mechanical properties that going through a several testing including Optical Microscope (OM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Density Test, Tensile test and cross-link density. The renewable polyurethane is namely as PU and polyurethane graphite is namely as PG2, PG4, PG6, PG8, PG10 with subscript numbers indicate the weight loading of graphite content was varied in the renewable polyurethane from 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10wt%. The result of SEM and OM showed that the graphite particles are randomly distributed and homogeneously scattered well in the PU due to interconnected interface within the matrix of polymeric composites. UV- Vis technique is used to characterize the absorption, transmission and reflectivity of the PU and PG’s otherwise the FT-IR is used for determine the composition and characterize the polymer structure of PU and PG’s. As expected, the mechanical properties of composites proven that the addition of graphite can change the matrix properties of PU to improve modulus and consequent lowered the tan delta with respected of increasing the temperature. The calculated cross-linked density of PU and PG composites revealed the increment of graphite particle loading gives highest result of cross-linking and this is due to the PG10 is the highest graphite content and the highest value of storage modulus, highest value of tensile strength and the highest value of young modulus. Therefore, the result shows the renewable polymer graphite composite is suitable to be used in various composites applications

    This research deals with teachers’ techniques in teaching English vocabulary at the first year students of MTs Assholihiyah Lopan Ketak East Lombok. It is expected to serve as an attempt to contribute to more teachers’ techniques in teaching vocabulary at junior high school in especially in Assholihiyah Lopan Ketas East Lombok as well as the reference to the teachers who teach English vocabulary. It applied a qualitative approach. The subject of the research was one of English teacher. The data was collected through questionnaire and interview. The data was analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion. The result was the teacher of class 1 (1 and 2) used the identifying picture and categorizing object technique.  And the teacher in class 1 (3) used categorizing objects technique to teach English vocabulary. Those techniques found from the textbook, so the teacher develops this technique by herself. In presenting English especially vocabulary, the teacher should be creative in choosing the material and able to stimulate the students interest

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat anxiety (kecemasan bertanding) atlet sepak takraw SMA Negeri Olahraga Tadulako. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Seluruhan atlet sepak takraw SMA Negeri Olahraga Tadulako yang berjumlah 30 bertindak sebagai populasi sekaligus sampel. Untuk memperoleh data yang diinginkan, maka digunakan angket atau kuesioner dalam mengumpulkan data yang berisikan 22 item pertanyaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: a) Jumlah persentase tingkat kecemasan bertanding atlet sepak takraw SMANOR Tadulako untuk aspek intrinsik adalah 4,9%; dan b) Jumlah persentase tingkat kecemasan bertanding atlet sepak takraw SMANOR Tadulako untuk aspek ekstrinsik adalah 2,2%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah tingkat kecemasan bertanding atlet sepak takraw SMANOR Tadulako berada pada kategori “sangat rendah” untuk tiap-tiap aspek, intrinsik dan ekstrinsik

    Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan II siklus dan untuk setiap siklusnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Paradigma Pedagogi Reflektif (PPR) pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn ) materi Peristiwa Lahirnya Pancasila dan Peran pancasila dalam menjaga keberagaman bangsa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 110 buton Kecamatan Wolowa. Dan subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V dengan jumlah 19 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa hasil belajar siswa sebelum tindakan hanya mendapatkan nilai tara-rata senesar 64,41 atau 21% tingkat keberhasilannya. Setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran Paradigma Pedagogi Reflektif PPR) pada siklus I hasil belajar Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) siswa memiliki nilai rata-rata 70% atau 52,6% tingkat keberhasilan siswa. Pada siklus II diperoleh nilai rata-rata 81,57% atau 84,21% tingkat keberhasilan para siswa. Penelitian Tindaka Kelas (PTK) ini dapat dikatakan meningkat dengan mengunakan model pembelajaran Paradigma Pedagogi Reflektif (PPR)

    Pengembangan Buku Ajar Pengayaan Membaca Pantun Melayu

    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsi dan mengidentifikasi  pantun Melayu Jambi, Indonesia  sebagai buku ajar  membaca. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jambi,  Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik  pengamatan dan  wawancara.   Analisis data menggunakan langkah-langkah yang disarankan oleh Milles dan Huberman, yaitu  (1) pengumpulan data, 2) reduksi data, (3) penyajian data dan,  (4) penarikan simpulan.  Analisis dilanjutkan dengan penarikan simpulan berdasarkan pada tema-tema yang menjadi fokus eksplorasi. Pemeriksaan validitas data dilakukan dengan memperpanjang waktu penelitian dan triangulasi. Hasil uji ahli menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk kategori layak (rerata skor 3.80). Saran ahli terhadap buku ajar adalah  perbaikan penggunaan ejaan, istilah dan kata-kata serta  kegrafikaan. Hasil uji praktisi (guru) menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk kategori sangat layak   (rerata skor 3,86). Saran dari praktisi (guru) adalah perbaikan penggunaan ejaan dan istilah-istilah baru.  Hasil uji pengguna (siswa) menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk kategori sangat layak (rerata 3.89).  Saran dari pengguna adalah penggantian kata sulit dan kejelasan pemberian tugas. Pembahasan hasil uji ahli, uji praktisi, dan uji pengguna menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk ke dalam kategori layak atau baik. KATA KUNCI:   Pengembangan, Buku ajar, Pantun Abstract This study aims to describe and identify the Jambi Malay pantun, Indonesia as a textbook for reading. This research was conducted in Jambi, Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were teachers and junior high school students. Data collection using observation and interview techniques. Data analysis used the steps suggested by Milles and Huberman, namely (1) data collection, 2) data reduction, (3) data presentation and, (4) drawing conclusions. The analysis is continued with drawing conclusions based on the themes that are the focus of exploration. Checking the validity of the data was carried out by extending the research time and triangulation. The expert test results showed that the textbook developed was in the feasible category (mean score 3.80). Expert advice on textbooks is to improve the use of spelling, terms and words and graphics. The results of the practitioner (teacher) test show that the textbook developed is in the very feasible category (mean score 3.86). The practitioner's (teacher) suggestion is to improve the use of spelling and new terms. The results of the user test (students) showed that the textbook developed was in the very feasible category (mean 3.89). Suggestions from users include substituting difficult words and clarity of assignment. Discussion of the results of expert tests, practitioner tests, and user tests shows that the textbook developed is in the proper or good category. KEY WORDS:   Development, Textbook, Rhyme

    MINIMIZING STUDENTS’ ERRORS ON ANSWERING “YES/NO” QUESTIONS ON READING COMPREHENSION

    This study is aimed at finding out the ways to minimize students’ error and factors encountered by the students on answering “yes/no” questions in reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 1 Sekotong. The number of population was 32 which were divided into 2 classes. The writer took 32 % of the students as the sample of the study or all of them. They were taken randomly as the sampling techniques to gain the data needed. The writer contributed a set of questionnaire which is consisted of 11 questions. The best ways to minimizing students’ error on answering “yes/no” questions in reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 1 Sekotong were Direct reference (45,7%) is very motivating, inference (37,1%) is fairly motivating, Supposition (42.9%) is motivating, Evaluation (37. 3%) is motivating. Some factors encountered by the students in answering “yes/no” questions in reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 1 Sekotong were Language transfer (22.9 %) is motivating factors by the respondents Intra lingual interference (28, 6%) is not motivating factors of respondents, The sociolinguistics situation (35.7%) is fairly motivating factors of the respondents, Age (31.4%) motivating factors of respondents, Modality (22, 9 %) is poorly motivating factor, Succession of approximate system (37.3%) is not motivating factors of the respondents, Universal hierarchy of difficulty (37.1%) not motivating factors of respondents.     Pedagogical Knowledge of English Teachers on Speech Acts in Senior High School Level of West Nusa Tenggara

    As an English teacher, communicating through English language properly and thoroughly is highly required particularly at Senior High School level. They are expected to communicate politely since teachers are the role model of teaching. As a professional teacher, English teachers must have professional competencies such as speech acts proficiencies. Speech act is included into spoken English and is taught in Senior High School level in order to develop students’ communicative competence. This is a descriptive qualitative research and is aiming at describing pedagogical knowledge of English teachers on speech acts in Senior High School level of West Nusa Tenggara. The knowledge itself is divided into some branches, they are the ability to define speech acts, ability to identify speech acts conversation and ability to identify speech act utterances. The researcher conducted the interview to collect the data. The data are obtained from the interview and the tape recorder to record the interview process. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that Senior High School teachers mostly can answer questions about speech acts. They can define speech acts, they can identify the speech act conversations and they can identify the speech act utterances. In conclusion, the knowledge of speech acts of Senior High School teachers is categorized very good because they can answer most questions correctly. Therefore, Senior High School teachers fulfill professional language competencies; they comprehend teaching materials and have good pedagogical skills

    MOTIVASI MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PJKR FKIP UNTAD DALAM MENGIKUTI MATAKULIAH PEMBELAJARAN SENAM

    Tujuan penelitian untuk megetahui motivasi mahasiswa dalam mengikuti matakuliah pembelajaran senam. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif, teknik pengumpulan data mengunakan angket, analisis data menggunakan statistik dekriptif persentase dengan teknik cross tabulation. Hasil penelitian yaitu: 1) Rata-rata jawaban mahasiswa sebesar 6,65 atau berkategori baik, 2) Rata-rata jawaban mahasiswa sebesar 5,53 atau berkategori baik, 3) Rata-rata jawaban mahasiswa sebesar 6.44 atau berkategori baik, 4) Rata-rata jawaban mahasiswa sebesar 5.51 atau berkategori baik, 5) Rata-rata jawaban mahasiswa sebesar 4.90 atau berkategori baik, dan 6) Rata-rata jawaban mahasiswa sebesar 5.63 atau berkategori baik. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa Motivasi mahasiswa Program Studi PJKR FKIP UNTAD dalam mengikuti matakuliah pembelajaran senam yang diukur dengan 6 indikator masuk dalam kategori baik. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat menjadi masukan bagi dosen pengampu mata kuliah untuk mempertahankan metode atau teknik pembelajaran dan bahkan lebih meningkatkan metode yang digunakan sehingga mahasiswa dapat maksimal dalam penyerapan materi yang disampaika
