    N=2 Einstein-Yang-Mills's BPS solutions

    Get PDF
    We find the general form of all the supersymmetric configurations and solutions of N=2,d=4 Einstein-Yang-Mills theories. In the timelike case, which we study in great detail, giving many examples, the solutions to the full supergravity equations can be constructed from known flat spacetime solutions of the Bogomol'nyi equations. This allows the regular supersymmetric embedding in supergravity of regular monopole solutions ('t Hooft-Poyakov's, Weinberg's, Wilkinson and Bais's) but also embeddings of irregular solutions to the Bogomol'nyi equations which turn out to be regular black holes with different forms of non-Abelian hair once the non-triviality of the spacetime metric is taken into account. The attractor mechanism is realized in a gauge-covariant way. In the null case we determine the general equations that supersymmetric configurations and solutions must satisfy but we do not find relevant new supersymmetric solutions.Comment: latex2e, 53 pages, 2 figure

    A Qualitative Phenomenological Study in Perceived Experiences that Enhanced Gospel Zeal in Christian Educational Leaders

    Get PDF
    The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to investigate and reveal the perceived experiences that enhanced Gospel zeal in Christian educational leaders in ministry. Scholarly studies reflect that contemporary ministry trends affect Christian educational leaders\u27 longevities (Barna, 2020a) but do not address effects on Gospel zeal. The researcher cites Ryle (1880, Chapter One, Para. 2) regarding the Gospel zeal phenomenon, “Zeal in Christianity is a burning desire to please God, to do His will, and to advance His glory in the world in every possible way. It is a desire, which is not natural to men or women. It is a desire which the Spirit puts in the heart of every believer when they are converted to Christ, however, a desire which some believers feel so much more strongly than others that they alone deserve to be called ‘zealous’ men and women.” The theory which guided this study is The ERG theory by Clayton Alderfer (1969) that refers to, “existence, relatedness, and growth” as the Christian educational leader considers the phenomenon of Gospel zeal to fulfill the Great Commission. The results of interviews with nine participants who were currently pastoring for 20 years have a good reputation, are passionate about the Gospel and what Christians believe God is communicating in the Bible, are exemplars in ministry, and are 60 years of age or older, could help Christian educational leaders consider how their perceived experiences enhance Gospel zeal. The researcher sought to reveal how the Christian educational leader transforming to be more Christ-like could better sustain joyful and zealous relationships with God and humankind as life-long disciplers of the Gospel

    Zero-Shot Retrieval with Search Agents and Hybrid Environments

    Full text link
    Learning to search is the task of building artificial agents that learn to autonomously use a search box to find information. So far, it has been shown that current language models can learn symbolic query reformulation policies, in combination with traditional term-based retrieval, but fall short of outperforming neural retrievers. We extend the previous learning to search setup to a hybrid environment, which accepts discrete query refinement operations, after a first-pass retrieval step performed by a dual encoder. Experiments on the BEIR task show that search agents, trained via behavioral cloning, outperform the underlying search system based on a combined dual encoder retriever and cross encoder reranker. Furthermore, we find that simple heuristic Hybrid Retrieval Environments (HRE) can improve baseline performance by several nDCG points. The search agent based on HRE (HARE) produces state-of-the-art performance on both zero-shot and in-domain evaluations. We carry out an extensive qualitative analysis to shed light on the agents policies

    Machine-learning Based Automatic Formulation of Query Sequences to Improve Search

    Get PDF
    People use search engines to look up information on the Internet, using search queries related to their information needs. This disclosure describes the use of machine learning techniques, including supervised learning and reinforcement learning to train a search agent to search deeper for better, more accurate, better supported answers by interacting with the search engine. The interaction mimics strategies utilized by human experts to carry out accurate web search. The search agent can be modular, and to provide answers to a user query, performs operations such as formulation of new queries in a sequence, analysis of intermediate results, and selection of results based on a chosen success metric that can take into account factors such as accuracy, diversity, presence of justification, etc
