A Comparative Analysis of Ruskinās and Wildeās Writings on Art
The paper starts by describing the historical context in which John Ruskin appeared on the British art scene. It was the period strongly influenced by the new political ideas and by the industrial revolution, but it was also the peak of British colonial power and the start of queen Victoria's reign. At the time, art in Britain was dominated by the movement called The Gothic Revival. Ruskin initially disagreed with its ideas, but later became one of its most prominent figures. Next chapter focuses on Ruskin's most famous works and analyses the ideas and philosophy behind them. Although controversial for his age, by the 1870s Ruskin became one of the most revered art critics, praised in intellectual circles all over the United Kingdom. It was during that decade that he faced an emerging opposition through Walter Pater - an aesthetic thinker and professor at Oxford, who developed a new doctrine influenced by the French idea of āl'art pour l'artā. With his famous work The Renaissance: Studies in Art and Poetry, Pater stirred great interest and influenced the new generation of thinkers, Oscar Wilde being the most famous among them. The paper proceeds to describe Wilde's written work, focusing on his essays on art and his constant need to reconcile the opposing views of his two mentors, Pater and Ruskin. The conclusion draws comparison between Ruskin and Wilde, discovering the greatest similarities and differences between the two thinkers. It also emphasizes their great importance and the massive influence they had on the development of the critical thinking and art of the 20th century
Public Health Services in Herzegovina Region during 1992ā1995 War
The aim of this study was to describe the situation and the development of Croatian Defense Council medical corps during the 1992ā1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The paper provides an overview and describes the main events that lead to development of the medical care in the wartime conditions, with special emphasis on the public health system in Herzegovina region. This included the creation of three distinctive public health system settings: initial, integral and post-war period, all marked by certain specificities in organization and delivery of the public health and overall health care to both military and civilians. The knowledge and skills gathered during this period can be useful in situations that involve the need for fast public health actions, such as various natural disasters and disease outbreaks, and could be used for establishing highly mobile response public health teams. Furthermore, the experiences gathered during these periods may be useful during the planning phases of the health care reforms, all aiming to deliver the best possible health care to the entire population
Alimentary Infections during War Conditions: Mostar and Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1992ā1995
The aim of this study was to assess the outcome of sanitary and epidemiologic measures undertaken in relation to alimentary
infections in the military corps of the Croatian Defense Council (Hrvatsko vije}e obrane) and civilian population
in Mostar and Tomislavgrad regions during the 1992ā1995 War in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A total of 25 (4.8%) of soldiers
and 7 (7.1%) of non-military personnel were not being granted medical clearance to be employed in the food provision
services. We recorded a total of 68 alimentary infections cases in military personnel (with an incidence of 536,2 per
100,000 persons), and 436 in civilian population (573,9 per 100,000 person), without significant difference between them
(p=0.647).We did not record any alimentary infection outbreak in the military personnel, while two smaller epidemics of
the abdominal typhus were recorded among civilian populations, but without lethal outcomes. The results of this study
suggest that even the most basic adherence to the principle of standard sanitary and epidemiologic preventive measures
may substantially reduce the probability of alimentary infections outbreaks, even in the highly disruptive, warfare environment
Post-Broadcast TV Content Consumption Patterns - A Research into Contemporary Croatian Consumersā Viewing Habits
In the post-broadcast television era marked by technology convergence content consumption has undergone major
transformations and that process is still ongoing. With the digital age, multiple new opportunities to watch television
content on different devices, in different places and in changed social surrounding have opened up. Different devices, such
as tablets and smartphones, have become integrated into the content consumption behavior and have even become the
main device used for television or on demand content consumption. Consumers are migrating to streaming and on demand
services, and traditional media adapt to the new pace of changing viewer habits. The constant audience transformation
shows that multiscreen living rooms are turning into many single screen rooms through the usage of individual digital
devices as they become the primary source of content consumption. In order to understand the trends that are changing
at a fast pace, this paper will look into different aspects of new media consumption trends through quantitative research.
Understanding the current consumer preferences in the latest digital technological shift is an important element that helps
shape television program production, distribution and marketing decisions

Croatian linguistic journals of the first half of the 20th century
U zavrÅ”nom se radu razmatraju dva najpoznatija Äasopisa prve polovice 20. stoljeÄa: Govori i piÅ”i hrvatski, kako treba (1925.) i Hrvatski jezik (1938.).
Comparison of methodologies for identification of process parameters affecting geometric deviations in plastic injection molding of housing using Taguchi method
This paper examines parameters that could influence geometric part deviation (shrinkage and warpage) of the Housing (Cycoloy, PC/ABS, Grade C2800) produced by plastic injection molding. Five parameters (temperature of molded plastic, injection time, cooling time, holding pressure, holding pressure time). Influence of the parameters is compared by simulation and real experiment with the results measured at five points. Taguchi's orthogonal array method is used. The simulation leads to unreliable results, with too many parameters influencing geometric deviation. Factor that has major influence is holding pressure time (HPT). The real experiment identifies holding pressure (HP) as a parameter with major influence. For further examination, the real experimentation is recommended, whenever it is possible

Snakebites in Mostar Region, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The aim of this study was to provide an overview of the snakebites in patients hospitalized at the Mostar Clinical Hospital, admitted between 1983 and 2006. A total of 341 patients were recorded, with moderate men predominance (52.8%). Majority of patients were bitten for the first time (99.1%). In 98.8% of patients snakebite occurred to the bare skin, most commonly during June to September period (64.2%). Snakebites were the commonest in agricultural workers (48.1%). Until 2003 all admitted patients were treated according to Russelās scheme (3-anti). As of 2003 new treatment scheme was applied, resulting in the reduction of antidote and supportive treatment use, causing a reduction in the number of clinically apparent allergic reactions. Serum sickness was recorded in only 2 patients, while lethal outcome was recorded in one (0.3%). Overall results indicate that lethality of snakebite is low, and that patients were often administered treatment without medical indication. High number of tourists as well as the presence of the peace keeping troops and other visiting personnel in this region make the snakebites and awareness on snakes not only a local issue, but also more general concern
