Properly Quantized History Dependent Parrondo Games, Markov Processes, and Multiplexing Circuits
In the context of quantum information theory, "quantization" of various
mathematical and computational constructions is said to occur upon the
replacement, at various points in the construction, of the classical
randomization notion of probability distribution with higher order
randomization notions from quantum mechanics such as quantum superposition with
measurement. For this to be done "properly", a faithful copy of the original
construction is required to exist within the new "quantum" one, just as is
required when a function is extended to a larger domain. Here procedures for
extending history dependent Parrondo games, Markov processes and multiplexing
circuits to their "quantum" versions are analyzed from a game theoretic
viewpoint, and from this viewpoint, proper quantizations developed
Transformative Learning Theory as Applied to Worship Studies
Despite extensive research regarding the application of Transformative Learning Theory in adult education, there is very little literature promoting applying these principles and practices within Christian Worship Studies. Transformative Learning Theory is an educational theory that researches and promotes perspective-changing teaching and learning. Structured educational opportunities and spiritual development through Christian worship both have the potential to be life-altering events in human experience. In each of these dimensions of learning, the final result may include a change in perspective which then leads to modified behaviors. Transformative change occurs in the life of the learner. This qualitative research study explores the effectiveness of Transformative Learning Theory as an approach to teaching Christian Worship Studies to adult lay students. Guided by the scholarly literature and research in the areas of Transformative Learning Theory, Christian Education, and Worship Studies, and in harmony with scriptural teachings regarding worship and spiritual formation, this study seeks to investigate and apply the principles and practices of Transformative Learning Theory to the teaching of Christian Worship Studies. Practical application is made possible by developing and including sample teaching materials and methods that demonstrate the utilization of the researched principles and practices. Further, this study may encourage educators to delve into the evolving field of Transformative Learning Theory in additional areas of education as they pursue their own transformative experiences
All integral slopes can be Seifert fibered slopes for hyperbolic knots
Which slopes can or cannot appear as Seifert fibered slopes for hyperbolic
knots in the 3-sphere S^3? It is conjectured that if r-surgery on a hyperbolic
knot in S^3 yields a Seifert fiber space, then r is an integer. We show that
for each integer n, there exists a tunnel number one, hyperbolic knot K_n in
S^3 such that n-surgery on K_n produces a small Seifert fiber space.Comment: Published by Algebraic and Geometric Topology at

Non-factorizable Joint Probabilities and Evolutionarily Stable Strategies in the Quantum Prisoner's Dilemma Game
The well known refinement of the Nash Equilibrium (NE) called an
Evolutionarily Stable Strategy (ESS) is investigated in the quantum Prisoner's
Dilemma (PD) game that is played using an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen type setting.
Earlier results report that in this scheme the classical NE remains intact as
the unique solution of the quantum PD game. In contrast, we show here that
interestingly in this scheme a non-classical solution for the ESS emerges for
the quantum PD.Comment: 9 pages, no figur
