Savęs atstovavimas moterų lyderystėje STEAM srityse Lietuvoje: diskursas, lyties tapatybė ir vaidmenų suderinamumas

Science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) are fields substantially crucial for innovation and development. Nevertheless, the gender gap in these areas is significant also in European countries. Considering the underrepresentation of STEAM women’s leadership, we provide insight into the common characteristics that led Lithuanian women to become referents in their fields. We identify elements of leadership in discursive social representations, professional ideologies, gender identity and role congruency in connection to power structures from a gender perspective within organisations, considering the mediations of the social context. We conducted the research in two phases: an online questionnaire and in-depth interviews. We performed a critical discourse analysis of Lithuanian Women’s testimonies to understand gender social representations. Parenthood highly influences building leadership and choosing STEAM careers, whereas self-efficacy and creativity are essential elements. High co-responsibility at home confirms that family context is vital. In STEAM careers, a male-centric perspective still constrains female leadership. There is still work to be done regarding active politics, programs, and law enforcement to create equity and social justice relationships between men and females, especially in STEAM areas.Mokslas, technologijos, inžinerija, menai ir matematika (STEAM) – tai sritys, kurios yra labai svarbios naujovėms ir plėtrai, bet taip pat sritys, kuriose labiausiai pasireiškia lygių galimybių spragos, net ir Europos šalyse. Atsižvelgiant į tai, kad STEAM moterų lyderystė yra nepakankama, straipsnyje pateikiamos įžvalgos, kokios yra tos bendrosios charakteristikos, padedančios kai kurioms Lietuvos moterims tapti savo srities atstovėmis. Lyderystės elementai buvo nustatyti diskursyviame savęs reprezentavime, tapatybės vaidmenyse ir profesinėse nuostatose, susijusiose su valdymo struktūromis organizacijose iš lyčių perspektyvos, atsižvelgiant į socialinį kontekstą. Tyrimas buvo atliktas dviem etapais: iš pradžių internetinė apklausa, po to giluminiai interviu ir gyvenimo istorijos metodas, derinant kiekybinius ir kokybinius metodus. Vėliau atlikta apklausų dalyvių atsakymų diskurso analizė, siekiant suprasti lyčių savęs reprezentaciją. Tyrimu išsiaiškinta, kad tėvas daro didelę įtaką ugdant lyderystę ir pasirenkant STEAM karjerą, o savarankiškumas ir kūrybiškumas yra vieni svarbesnių elementų šioje srityje. Didelė bendra atsakomybė, vyraujanti namuose, patvirtina, kad šeimos kontekstas yra gyvybiškai svarbus. Kita vertus, STEAM karjeroje vis dar išlieka į vyrus orientuota perspektyva, kuri riboja moterų lyderystę. Vis dar reikalinga aktyvi veikla politikos, edukacinių programų ir socialinio teisingumo srityse, kad būtų sukurti lygybės ir socialinio teisingumo santykiai tarp vyrų ir moterų, ypač STEAM srityse

A Case-based Reasoning Approach to Validate Grammatical Gender and Number Agreement in Spanish language

Across Latin America 420 indigenous languages are spoken. Spanish is considered a second language in indigenous communities and is progressively introduced in education. However, most of the tools to support teaching processes of a second language have been developed for the most common languages such as English, French, German, Italian, etc. As a result, only a small amount of learning objects and authoring tools have been developed for indigenous people considering the specific needs of their population. This paper introduces Multilingual–Tiny as a web authoring tool to support the virtual experience of indigenous students and teachers when they are creating learning objects in indigenous languages or in Spanish language, in particular, when they have to deal with the grammatical structures of Spanish. Multilingual–Tiny has a module based on the Case-based Reasoning technique to provide recommendations in real time when teachers and students write texts in Spanish. An experiment was performed in order to compare some local similarity functions to retrieve cases from the case library taking into account the grammatical structures. As a result we found the similarity function with the best performance

La Pedagogía Crítica en la Institución Educativa de Pontezuela: Entre la lectura y la escritura

Abstract: Faced with the need to unify criteria around importance and functionality of reading and writing for the curriculum and the contextual needs of the population and the Educational Institution of Pontezuela, we want with this article to propose Critical Pedagogy as a theoretical framework that allows With greater clarity to understand and interpret that importance and functionality. For this, the conceptualization of the teaching-learning process of reading as the formation and development of critical thinking is proposed, and writing as a reification of reading, that is, as a way of exercising social action. Finally, reading and writing are proposed as a process of formation for the freedom of men and women of the province of Pontezuela. Freedom oriented to the opportunity to clearly observe the human being in their environment and opt for social participation, for the struggle for inequality and the democratic life of the people.ResumenFrente a la necesidad de unificar criterios alrededor de la importancia y la funcionalidad de la lectura y la escritura para el currículo y las necesidades contextuales de la población y la Institución Educativa de Pontezuela, se quiere con este artículo proponer la Pedagogía crítica como marco teórico que permita con mayor claridad comprender e interpretar esa importancia y funcionalidad. Para esto se propone, primero, la conceptualización el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la lectura como formación y desarrollo del pensamiento crítico, y la escritura como cosificación de la lectura, esto es, como una manera de ejercer acción social. Por último, se propone la lectura y la escritura como proceso de formación para la libertad del hombre y la mujer pontezuelana. La libertad orientada a la oportunidad de observar con claridad al ser humano en su entorno y optar por la participación social, por la lucha por la desigualdad y la vida democrática del pueblo

Augmented Reality Trends in Education : A Systematic Review of Research and Applications

En: Educational Technology & Society, Vol. 17, No. 4, pp. 133–149In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in applying Augmented Reality (AR) to create unique educational settings. So far, however, there is a lack of review studies with focus on investigating factors such as: the uses, advantages, limitations, effectiveness, challenges and features of augmented reality in educational settings. Personalization for promoting an inclusive learning using AR is also a growing area of interest. This paper reports a systematic review of literature on augmented reality in educational settings considering the factors mentioned before. In total, 32 studies published between 2003 and 2013 in 6 indexed journals were analyzed. The main findings from this review provide the current state of the art on research in AR in education. Furthermore, the paper discusses trends and the vision towards the future and opportunities for further research in augmented reality for educational settings
