Transient polarization dynamics in a CO2_2 laser

    Get PDF
We study experimentally and theoretically the polarization alternation during the switch-on transient of a quasi-isotropic CO2_2 laser emitting on the fundamental mode. The observed transient dynamics is well reproduced by means of a model which provides a quantitative discrimination between the intrinsic asymmetry due to the kinetic coupling of molecules with different angular momenta, and the extrinsic anisotropies, due to a tilted intracavity window. Furthermore, the experiment provides a numerical assignment for the decay rate of the coherence term for a CO2_2 laser.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Opt. Com

Factors of Non-Specific Protection of Oral Fluid in High School Children with Dental Anomalies

    Get PDF
The article presents a comparative analysis of the factors of non-specific protection of oral fluid in children of high school age. The author determined the percentage of lymphocytes, monocytes, rod - and segmented neutrophils. These indicators were closely interrelated with the parameters of the oral microbiocenosis of sick children with dental anomalies

Bulk, surface and corner free energy series for the chromatic polynomial on the square and triangular lattices

We present an efficient algorithm for computing the partition function of the q-colouring problem (chromatic polynomial) on regular two-dimensional lattice strips. Our construction involves writing the transfer matrix as a product of sparse matrices, each of dimension ~ 3^m, where m is the number of lattice spacings across the strip. As a specific application, we obtain the large-q series of the bulk, surface and corner free energies of the chromatic polynomial. This extends the existing series for the square lattice by 32 terms, to order q^{-79}. On the triangular lattice, we verify Baxter's analytical expression for the bulk free energy (to order q^{-40}), and we are able to conjecture exact product formulae for the surface and corner free energies.Comment: 17 pages. Effects of cascade-induced dislocation structures on the long-term microstructural evolution in tungsten

    Get PDF
In recent years, a number of systematic investigations of high-energy collision cascades in tungsten employing advanced defect analysis tools have shown that interstitial clusters can form complex non-planar dislocation structures. These structures are sessile in nature and may potentially have a strong impact on the long-term evolution of the radiation microstructure. To clarify this aspect, we selected several representative primary damage states of cascades debris and performed annealing simulations using molecular dynamics (MD). We found that immobile complexes of non-planar dislocation structures (CDS) evolve into glissile and planar shaped 1/2 loops with an activation energy of similar to 1.5 eV. The CDS objects were implemented in an object kinetic Monte Carlo (OKMC) model accounting for the event of transformation into 1-D migrating loops, following the MD data. OKMC was then used to investigate the impact of the transformation event (and the associated activation energy) on the evolution of the microstructure.Peer reviewe

Formation of the Project Office for the Regulation of Innovative Development of Food Industry Enterprises

    Get PDF
The article describes the strategic approach to regional food development, identifies ways to solve the problems of import substitution in agricultural producers. The assumption about the need to introduce a project approach to the management of the food sector of the economy, the development and implementation of complex projects and programs, matching and coordination of the activities of the authorities and participants in the food market of the region. Implementation of project approach to the innovation development of the food industry can ensure the creation and implementation of project office – integrated framework that promotes sharing of resources, tools, methodology and methods of project management between the regional economic entities involved in the process of design, development and production of food products and coupled with their consumption of services; implementation and monitoring of the projects and programs of development of food sector of the region; providing support to the regional economic system through the introduction of project management standards and the formation of unified reporting on programs/projects aimed at the development of the food sector of the region's economy. It should be noted that the implementation of the project office will solve the problems of development, implementation and regulation of projects of innovative development of the food industry, as well as reduce the resistance of managers and staff to the use of project work methods, the implementation of qualified specialists’ training in project management, which will improve the project expertise
