A identificação de clientes associados a risco acrescido de Branqueamento de Capitais
e Financiamento do Terrorismo (BC/FT) é preocupação primordial para as Instituições
Financeiras, em conformidade com a Legislação atual sobre esta temática. Este estudo
foca-se no cálculo do Risco BC/FT associado a clientes, um desafio complexo e essencial
na atual conjuntura financeira.
O problema em análise é a necessidade de identificar clientes de alto risco, assegu-
rando a conformidade legal e permitindo assim às Instituições Financeiras aplicar as
medidas de diligência reforçada sempre que identifique clientes com potencial risco
acrescido de BC/FT. Com a crescente ĂŞnfase nas abordagens estatĂsticas, a transição de
modelos heurĂsticos para modelos de classificação em Machine Learning (ML) torna-se
crucial, uma vez que estes modelos tradicionais nĂŁo sĂŁo suportados por um racional
matemático, sendo baseados apenas em boas-práticas relacionadas com estas temáticas.
Este estudo propõe uma análise da Avaliação do Risco de BC/FT, explorando a adoção
de modelos de classificação em ML que permitem ter em consideração que os clientes
particulares e coletivos tĂŞm caraterĂsticas diferentes, e por esse motivo, sĂŁo aplicados
modelos especĂficos para cada tipologia de cliente.
Nesta dissertação, examinaremos a metodologia, incluindo a exploração de dados
estatĂsticos relacionados com os clientes, o processo de preparação dos dados e uma
descrição detalhada dos modelos utilizados. A nossa pesquisa culminou na identificação
de modelos de ML altamente precisos na previsĂŁo de clientes com risco BC/FT alto com
base nos dados considerados.
O uso eficaz dos modelos de classificação em ML contribui para a mitigação do Risco
BC/FT fortalecendo a capacidade das instituições financeiras de identificar e monitorizar
clientes de alto risco. Este estudo visa fornecer uma abordagem mais precisa e fundamen-
tada na avaliação do risco BC/FT.The identification of customers associated with an increased risk of AML/CFT is a pri-
mary concern for Financial Institutions, in compliance with current legislation on this
subject. This study focuses on calculating AML/CFT Risk associated with customers, a
complex and essential challenge in the current financial landscape.
The problem under analysis is the need to identify high-risk customers, ensuring legal
compliance and enabling Financial Institutions to apply enhanced due diligence measures
whenever they identify customers with the potential for increased AML/CFT risk. With
the growing emphasis on statistical approaches, the transition from heuristic models to
Machine Learning (ML) classification models becomes crucial, as these traditional models
lack mathematical rationale and are based solely on best practices related to these topics.
This study proposes an analysis of AML/CFT Risk Assessment, exploring the adop-
tion of ML classification models that take into account that individual and corporate
customers have different characteristics, and therefore, specific models are applied to
each customer type.
In this dissertation, we will examine the methodology, including the exploration of
statistical customer data, the data preparation process, and a detailed description of the
models used. Our research has resulted in the identification of highly accurate ML models
for predicting high AML/CFT risk customers based on the considered data.
The effective use of ML classification models contributes to the mitigation of AML/CFT
Risk by strengthening the ability of financial institutions to identify and monitor high-
risk customers. This study aims to provide a more precise and evidence-based approach
to AML/CFT risk assessment
Examination of Spot Welded Seam of a Car Body
Spot welding is widely used in car industry to create a cheap and light body and chassis. Engineers tend to use spot-welding in order of reducing the production costs, also lowering the stress intensity which can cause failure and fractures of the body or chassis. Our goal here is to examine spot-welding of a car body with different tests and find out later if there is a possibility of using a different technology that can produce a better seam that can be automated with industrial robots

The Intensity of Social Networks Group Use among the Students of Jordanian Universities
The paper investigates the intensity of (Social Networking Sites) SNSs use among the students of Jordanian universities. Four universities were involved in this study, while 727 undergraduate students respond to a questionnaire that measured their intensity of SNSs use. To answer research questions, the researchers used descriptive statistics, ANCOVA, Chi-Square, and T-test. The data analyses revealed significant differences among students' uses of SNSs. The variables consisted of university, faculty, gender, and year level. The study recommendation was the focus on integrating SNSs within learning management systems

Oleh: Evan Andraws Latief Permasalahan lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh material plastik telah banyak disampaikan di media massa, salah satunya adalah penemuan bangkai Paus Sperma yang ditemukan di Pulau Kapota, Sulawesi Tenggara. Yang menariknya di dalam perut mamalia laut tersebut ditemukan sampah plastik sebanyak 5,9kg. Menurut World Economic Forum pada 2016 terdapat 150 juta ton sampah plastik di laut, dan setiap tahunnya sebanyak 8 juta ton sampah plastik baru masuk ke lautan, Indonesia sendiri sebagai penyumbang nomor dua di dunia. Tidak hanya di lautan, permasalahan akibat sampah material plastik juga terjadi di daratan. TPA Bantar Gebang sebagai salah satu TPA terbesar di Indonesia yang setiap harinya menerima sampah sebanyak 7702,02 ton, sampah plastik menempati urutan kedua jenis sampah terbanyak di TPA ini. Sebelum menjadi permasalahan, material plastik pada awalnya adalah hasil penemuan manusia untuk menggantikan bola biliard yang dulu terbuat dari gading gajah. Dari penemuan ini material plastik mengalami perkembangan dan pengunaanya ditemukan di berbagai sektor industri mulai dari pengemasan, konstruksi, hingga otomotif. Berbagai macam pengaplikasian material ini tidak terlepas dari sifatnya yang murah, kuat, dan tahan lama. Namun, karena sifatnya itulah material ini menimbulkan permasalahan. Dibutuhkan waktu hingga ratusan bahkan ribuan tahun untuk material ini dapat terurai di alam, lantas hal ini menimbukan dillema bagi lingkungan hidup kita, disaat yang bersamaan manusia juga masih mengandalkan material ini. Walau berbagai langkah seperti pelarangan pengunaan kantong plastik telah dilakukan namun kurang efektif sehingga salah satu cara adalah kembali berinovasi untuk menghadapi permasalahan ini. Berdasarkan hal tersebut Penulis mengajukan tugas akhir dalam bentuk buku foto. Buku foto ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai dilema hubungan manusia dengan material plastik. Dilema tersebut adalah manusia yang masih mengandalkan material plastik yang di mana material plastik membawa permasalahan terhadap lingkungan hidup. Di dalam buku foto ini penulis ingin menyajikan dilema tersebut yang dimulai dari pengunaan material plastik dalam kehidupan msanusia, konsekuensi-konsekuensi dari pengunaan tersebut, lalu berujung ke bagaimana manusia kembali berinovasi dan menemukan jawaban untuk permasalahan yang disebabkan oleh material plastik

Prevalence of Lower Third Molar Angulations in Duhok Province of Kurdistan Region- Iraq
Aims: The current retrospective radio-graphical study aimed to find the prevalence of lower third molar impactions and angulations in a sample population of Duhok Province -Kurdistan region, Iraq. Materials and Methods: The study included randomly chosen Orthopantomograms (OPGs) of 1316 adults; “682 males and 634 females” with ages ranging between (21 – 50 years) old who were referred to the College of Dentistry / Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department / University of Duhok between the years (2020 and 2023). A total of 502 OPGs were included in the study with impacted lower wisdom teeth (344 bi-lateral impactions, 158 uni-lateral impactions), Analysis was made according to the classifications of Pell and Gregory and Winter’s categories of radiographic images (OPGs) to determine the prevalence and angulations of impacted lower wisdom teeth. Results: The data was collected from 502 patients “183 males and 319 females” OPGs, with a total of (846) impacted lower wisdom teeth (344 bi-lateral impactions, 158 uni-lateral impactions). The prevalence of mesioangular impactions was 28.2% being the most common. Vertical angulations were significantly lower than other impactions 3.7%. There was a significant difference between female and male-impacted third molars “18.8% in females and 10.4% in males” (577 teeth in females and 269 teeth in males). Conclusion: Mesioangular lower wisdom teeth impactions were recorded to be the most common type found with females being more than in males
