Information is powerful. This great statement led to do this research by seeing information technology power in developing several countries such as Malaysia. Due to the increased organizational dependence on information systems and technology, most of today's organizations and governments have plans to implement information technology in all of their job processing and communication tools. This study aims to describe the current state of information technology adoption among employees in Tax Authority of Yemen and to find the relationship with complexity, compatibility, and relative advantages. To deepen the analysis, reliability test has been done, then, study used liner regression to test the hypothesis. Moreover, descriptive statistics was computed to describe the current state of information technology adoption by using tables, charts and graphs to present the findings in an understandable manner. As a result of the study relative advantages has the highest relationship, then compatibility, and complexity. This research provided some recommendations through its results both can help the top management of tax authority of the Republic of Yemen push growing of information technology implementation

Treatment of childhood cancer and its side effects can exert a negative impact on patients’ parents. A valid and reliable instrument to measure family functioning In Arabic families was considered to be a vital resource. The PedsQL Family Impact Scale and the PedsQL Healthcare Satisfaction Hematology/Oncology Scale - Parent report were completed by 113 Jordanian parents of children with cancer. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was found to be excellent at 0.93 for the total PedsQL Family Impact Scale, which correlated significantly with the PedsQL Healthcare Satisfaction Hematology/Oncology Scale - Parent report, demonstrating good construct validity. The Arabic version of the PedsQL Family Impact Scale is both valid and reliable for use with parents of children with cancer

Selection for university education in egypt:: practice, philosophy and perspective

On 12 May 1979, the Cairo newspaper, Al-Ahram, announced that 132,000 successful General Secondary Certificate students would he likely to he accepted by the universities and institutes for the academic year 1979/80, compared with 112,000 accepted in 1978/79. The universities alone will therefore offer places to 75,000 compared with 70,000 in the previous year. This means that the problem which attracted this researcher’s attention in 1973/74 is still in existence. Moreover, as the number of students is increasing year by year, the pressure upon the universities is exacerbated. The questions asked were, firstly, why all these thousands of young Egyptians who hold the General Secondary Certificate desire university education and, secondly, why the major response of the Government was and still is expansion and an ever-increasing intake of students in the universities. Is expansion within the university education sector alone, instead of a wide diversity in post-secondary education, the appropriate response to such strong demands? The large number of students might result in vigorous competition to gain places in their chosen faculties. How can such places be offered to each individual, and furthermore, what criteria should the universities employ in their choice of candidates and to what extent can the Co-ordination Office, which is the executive agent responsible for selection or distribution of students, succeed in ensuring equality of opportunity as well as satisfying the choice of faculty and university made by each student? Selection for universities cannot be separated from the purposes of university education itself. The motivation of the consumers, i.e. the students themselves, in coming to university, is also very important. How far does students' motivation reflect the meaning of university education to the general public in the context of the circumstances of contemporary Egyptian society? To cover this wide area, this research consists of seven chapters together with an introduction and a conclusion. The main concern of this research is the selection system or the admission policy to universities in Egypt. A questionnaire was designed to explore the students' purposes in coming to university and the relation between their initial choice of faculty and the place which they eventually occupied. Their views about the Co-ordination Office's system were also explored. In addition, this questionnaire aimed to indicate what equality of educational opportunity means in practice in the context of Egyptian society. The fieldwork, which was carried out in two of Egypt's universities, was dependent on student samples from 19 faculties. There follows a discussion of the stated purposes of university education in Egypt as set out in official documents. The final chapter outlines a new policy post-secondary education in Egypt and a proposal for a new system for selection

Credit Risk Minimizing: Analysis study of Islamic and conventional banks in Yemen

Purpose: The study aims to compare the credit risk minimization between Islamic and conventional banks in Yemen.   Approach/Methodology/Design: This paper is limited to a homogeneous sample that includes the Islamic and conventional banks' coverage as they represent the most significant part of the Yemeni banking sector. Using a descriptive-analytical method, data has been collected by a questionnaire sent by post to each Islamic and conventional bank separately located in Yemen's capital city.   Findings: The study concludes that credit risk is the most critical risk facing banks, and there is a significant difference in credit risk minimizing between Islamic.   Originality/value: The result showed that the banks' most critical risks are credit risks, and there is a significant difference in credit risk minimisation between Islamic and conventional banks. Also, conventional banks possessed a credit risk minimizing system better than Islamic banks. Several recommendations identified where the Yemeni banks, whether Islamic or conventional, should use advanced methods to measure and analyze credit risks

Effectiveness of specularity removal from hyperspectral images on the quality of spectral signatures of food products

Specularity or highlight problem exists widely in hyperspectral images, provokes reflectance deviation from its true value, and can hide major defects in food objects or detecting spurious false defects causing failure of inspection and detection processes. In this study, a new non-iterative method based on the dichromatic reflection model and principle component analysis (PCA) was proposed to detect and remove specular highlight components from hyperspectral images acquired by various imaging modes and under different configurations for numerous agro-food products. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach, the details of the proposed method were described and the experimental results on various spectral images were presented. The results revealed that the method worked well on all hyperspectral and multispectral images examined in this study, effectively reduced the specularity and significantly improves the quality of the extracted spectral data. Besides the spectral images from available databases, the robustness of this approach was further validated with real captured hyperspectral images of different food materials. By using qualitative and quantitative evaluation based on running time and peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), the experimental results showed that the proposed method outperforms other specularity removal methods over the datasets of hyperspectral and multispectral images.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
