On Galois-Division Multiple Access Systems: Figures of Merit and Performance Evaluation
A new approach to multiple access based on finite field transforms is
investigated. These schemes, termed Galois-Division Multiple Access (GDMA),
offer compact bandwidth requirements. A new digital transform, the Finite Field
Hartley Transform (FFHT) requires to deal with fields of characteristic p, p
\neq 2. A binary-to-p-ary (p \neq 2) mapping based on the opportunistic
secondary channel is introduced. This allows the use of GDMA in conjunction
with available digital systems. The performance of GDMA is also evaluated.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures. In: XIX Simposio Brasileiro de Telecomunicacoes,

Factorisation properties of the strong product
We investigate a number of factorisation conditions in the frame- work of sets of probability measures, or coherent lower previsions, with finite referential spaces. We show that the so-called strong product constitutes one way to combine a number of marginal coherent lower previsions into an independent joint lower prevision, and we prove that under some conditions it is the only independent product that satisfies the factorisation conditions
Generalised Umbral Moonshine
Umbral moonshine describes an unexpected relation between 23 finite groups
arising from lattice symmetries and special mock modular forms. It includes the
Mathieu moonshine as a special case and can itself be viewed as an example of
the more general moonshine phenomenon which connects finite groups and
distinguished modular objects. In this paper we introduce the notion of
generalised umbral moonshine, which includes the generalised Mathieu moonshine
[Gaberdiel M.R., Persson D., Ronellenfitsch H., Volpato R., Commun. Number
Theory Phys. 7 (2013), 145-223] as a special case, and provide supporting data
for it. A central role is played by the deformed Drinfel'd (or quantum) double
of each umbral finite group , specified by a cohomology class in
. We conjecture that in each of the 23 cases there exists a rule
to assign an infinite-dimensional module for the deformed Drinfel'd double of
the umbral finite group underlying the mock modular forms of umbral moonshine
and generalised umbral moonshine. We also discuss the possible origin of the
generalised umbral moonshine

Symmetry breaking effects upon bipartite and multipartite entanglement in the XY model
We analyze the bipartite and multipartite entanglement for the ground state
of the one-dimensional XY model in a transverse magnetic field in the
thermodynamical limit. We explicitly take into account the spontaneous symmetry
breaking in order to explore the relation between entanglement and quantum
phase transitions. As a result we show that while both bipartite and
multipartite entanglement can be enhanced by spontaneous symmetry breaking deep
into the ferromagnetic phase, only the latter is affected by it in the vicinity
of the critical point. This result adds to the evidence that multipartite, and
not bipartite, entanglement is the fundamental indicator of long range
correlations in quantum phase transitions.Comment: 13 pages, 19 figures, comments welcome. V2: small changes, published
