    Semantic Privacy Policies for Service Description and Discovery in Service-Oriented Architecture

    Privacy can be defined as the right of an individual to have information about them accessed and used in conformity with what they consider acceptable. Privacy preservation in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an open problem. A solution for this problem must include features that support privacy preservation in each area of SOA. This thesis focuses on the areas of service description and discovery. The problems in these areas are that currently it is not possible to describe how a service provider deals with information received from a service consumer as well as discover a service that satisfies the privacy preferences of a consumer. Research has been carried out in these areas, but there is currently no framework which offers a solution that supports a rich description of privacy policies and their integration in the process of service discovery. Thus, the main goal of this thesis is to propose a privacy preservation framework for the areas of service description and discovery in SOA. The framework enhances service description and discovery with the specification and intersection of privacy policies using a base and domain-specific privacy ontologies. Moreover, the framework enhances these areas with an extension to basic SOA that includes roles responsible for implementing a privacy registry as well as mediating the interactions between service consumers and providers and the privacy preservation component. The framework is evaluated through a health care scenario as privacy preservation is an important issue in this domain

    Species richness and diversity along edaphic and climatic gradients in Amazonia

    The number of species is known to decrease from the humid tropics towards drier and colder climates, but how species richness varies along environmental and spatial gradients within the tropical rain forests is not clear. We inventoried 214 transects of 0.25 ha to document species diversity patterns in an example plant group (ferns and lycophytes) across non-inundated rain forests of western and central Amazonia, and assessed how well these conformed with proposed hypotheses about species richness. The observed number of species varied between 6 and 71 per transect. The effective number of species (emphasising the degree of unevenness in species abundances) varied between 1.02 and 8.60, and diversity profiles revealed considerable differences among transects in community structure. Although the density of individuals varied over almost two orders of magnitude, species diversity was better explained by other variables. In particular, within-transect species diversity increased substantially with increasing soil cation concentration. It also increased with soil aluminium concentration, heterogeneity in soil chemistry, annual rainfall and dry season rainfall, and was higher in western than in central Amazonia. Multiple regression models explained up to 70% of the variance in species diversity, but the relationships between species diversity and the environmental gradients became progressively weaker as species abundances were given more weight in the calculation of diversity. Our results conformed to the proposal that site productivity promotes species diversity. This seemed to arise from larger species pools on more fertile soils and in wetter climates, even when it could be expected that the older and more widespread infertile soils would have provided more opportunities for speciation. © 2014 The Authors.</p

    As mudanças econômicas e políticas ocorridas a partir da segunda metade do século XX têm obrigado as organizações a adotarem estratégias que as tornem capazes de enfrentar os desafios que lhes são impostos. No Brasil, o acesso ao ensino universitário, até recentemente era reservado a uma parcela reduzida da população; medidas implantadas a partir de 1996 ampliaram as oportunidades para novos segmentos da população, mediante aumento do número e das características das instituições de ensino superior. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar as estratégias adotadas por instituições de ensino superior da rede privada que estão enfrentando a competitividade. A pesquisa analisou dados secundários obtidos nos sites do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (INEP), nos relatórios de pesquisas e dados de consultores da área. As instituições estudadas se consideram empresas de educação e expressam a necessidade de obter lucros e garantir a produtividade como fazem empresas de outros setores. Para isto, têm adotado medidas que as levem a evitar os prejuízos, adotando estruturas organizacionais mais simples, mantendo o corpo docente e administrativo enxuto, focando na distribuição mais racional das tarefas administrativas e de ensino

    Didatic for urban analysis in precarious area: a study in the São Remo in São Paulo

    The article presents didactic experience that articulated other methodologies and disciplines for socio-territorial reading in slums of Sao Paulo. The postgraduate discipline sought to understand the urban and social dynamics of the São Remo slum in Sao Paulo, relating its historical formation and current reality. Faced with the transformations of the social and urban relations of the Sao Paulo slums in the last 20 years, the need to experiment with other didactic practices of reading and understanding is justified. The formation of researchers and designers suitable for other forms of reading led us to study the San Remo slum, associating theoretical research with the experience in the community. The results, synthesized in cartographies and diagrams, allowed clear access to the complex historical, territorial and social data of the slum and were ordered on a digital platform (site) to socialize the knowledge beyond the academic scope. We conclude that the analysis of the precarious areas needs an extended field of readings and reflections capable of contemplating the complexity of the place and its inhabitants, breaking the stigma that separates the understanding of the city in the life of precarious neighborhoods.O artigo apresenta experiência didática que articulou outras metodologias e disciplinas para leitura socioterritorial em favelas paulistas. A disciplina de pós-graduação procurou compreender as dinâmicas urbana e social da favela São Remo em São Paulo, relacionando sua formação histórica e a realidade atual. Diante das transformações das relações social e urbana das favelas paulistas nos últimos 20 anos, justifica-se a necessidade da experimentação de outras práticas didáticas de leitura e compreensão do território de intervenção. A formação de pesquisadores e projetistas aptos para outras formas de leitura nos levou a estudar a favela São Remo associando pesquisa teórica à vivência na comunidade. Os resultados, sintetizados em cartografias e diagramas, permitiram acesso claro a dados históricos, territoriais e sociais complexos da favela e foram ordenados em plataforma digital (site) para socializar o conhecimento além do âmbito acadêmico. Concluímos que a análise das áreas precárias necessita de um campo ampliado de leituras e reflexões capazes de contemplar a complexidade do lugar e seus habitantes, rompendo o estigma que aparta o entendimento de cidade na vida de bairros precários

Foram abordados os modais aeroviário, rodoviário, ferroviário e aquaviário da matriz de transportes de cargas e de passageiros brasileira. Este memorial apresenta de que forma foi empreendida a construção do texto por meio de uma narrativa centrada a partir do período inicial da crise, refletindo seus primeiros efeitos, para mostrar de que forma eles afetaram esses diferentes modais a partir de fatores como as medidas de restrição da circulação de pessoas e a redução das atividades econômicas.This work purpose is the building of a great report on the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the transport infrastructure sector in Brazil. The air, road, rail and waterway modes of the Brazilian cargo and passenger transport matrix were addressed. This memorial presents how the construction of the text was undertaken through a narrative centered from the initial period of the crisis, reflecting its first effects, to show how they affected these different modes from factors such as the restriction measures movement of people and the reduction of economic activities

    A Constituição e consolidação da Revista da Editora do Brasil S/A – EBSA (1946 – 1960): periódico educacional “pioneiro” no gênero.

    This paper presents the emergence and consolidation of the Revista da Editora do Brasil S/A (EBSA), a journal created by the Editora do Brasil in order to demarcate the idea of “direct relationship” between the company and the workers of the brazilian high school. It was found that, on the part of editors, the journal’s success was the result of the discovery of a vein of market “innovator”: provide direct service to teachers. One example was the routing of its certification procedures and assignment of classes in the federal agencies, and so on. This article is an excerpt from a doctoral research and for it were used the following sources: the contents of the magazine EBSA; documents on the company, found at the Board of Trade of São Paulo and minutes of meetings of the editors, who in turn were located in the Diário Oficial de São Paulo.Este trabajo presenta el surgimiento y consolidación de la Revista de la Editora de Brasil S/A (EBSA), una revista creada por la Editora de Brasil con el fin de delimitar el concepto de “relación directa” entre la empresa y el profesional de la enseñanza media. Se encontró que, por parte de los editores, el éxito de la revista fue el resultado del descubrimiento de un recurso de mercado “innovador”: ofrecer un servicio directo a los maestros. Por ejemplo, la presentación de sus procesos de certificación y la asignación de las clases junto con las agencias federales y así sucesivamente.     Nível de atividade física de alunos do 2º ano do ensino médio de uma escola estadual de Barretos/SP

Curso de Licenciatura em Educação Física a Distância.Com o aumento do sedentarismo como um dos grandes problemas da saúde pública e sua crescente incidência entre crianças e adolescentes sem levar em conta os níveis socioeconômicos. Este estudo tem por principal objetivo demonstrar o perfil do nível de atividades físicas dos adolescentes dos 2ºs Anos do Colegial, da Escola Estadual Fábio Junqueira Franco, em Barretos. Bem como alguns dos fatores que podem leva-los a esta inatividade. Para a realização deste estudo foi utilizado o Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física – IPAQ, com reprodutibilidade e validade já comprovados realizados em adolescentes. O estudo foi realizado com 23 alunos, sendo que em sua maioria tanto do sexo masculino quanto feminino obtiveram classificação “Ativo” e “Muito ativo”, porém com resultados irregulares, e como fatores para inatividade física, “preferência em fazer outras coisas”, “falta de tempo”, “Falta de incentivo” e “Falta de interesse”. Através destes resultados pode-se concluir que apesar dos resultados serem positivos para a classificação de nível de atividade física para “muito ativos”, o mesmo demonstra que as atividades são realizadas de forma irregular, tanto no que diz respeito à regularidade quanto na frequência, sendo que isto pode ocorrer devido à falta de orientação. __________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTWith increasing sedentary lifestyle as one of the major problems of public health and its increasing incidence among children and adolescents regardless of socioeconomic level. This study has the main objective to demonstrate the profile of the level of physical activity of adolescents from 2 paragraphs of the Collegiate Years, State School Fábio Junqueira Franco in Barretos. Well as some of the factors that can lead them to this inactivity. For this study we used the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAQ, with proven reliability and validity conducted in adolescents. The study was conducted with 23 students, and mostly both male and female were classified as "active" and "very active", but with mixed results, and as factors for physical inactivity, "in preference to other things," "lack of time", "lack of incentives" and "lack of interest". Through these results it can be concluded that despite the positive results being for the classification of physical activity, they demonstrate that activities are performed irregularly both in regard to regular as in frequency, and it can occur due to lack of guidance

    «Imagined Communities»: Student and Revolutionary Movements in the Headlines of Mass Media Newspapers and Magazines During the Brazilian Dictatorship

    Brazilian historiography emphasises student political practice as the main action of those students who were against the authoritarian and conservative regime. To explain the student movement through its political activity or subversion towards the established social patterns became commonplace when discussing the behaviour of much of 1960s youth. Even though such aspects are import, they take little account of other peculiarities of these students’ history. This article explores Anderson’s (2008) hypothesis on «imagined communities» – i.e. when people in a group establish synchronic identification through references given by daily communication – in this context. This highlights the emotional pandemic of the youth coalition of the 1960s, which spread to general political movements. From this perspective, the student movement is understood as an interaction among subjects of a similar age, mobilized by their identification with shared images, mainly on printed documents. This analysis reveals that in Brazil: 1) the students identified with the revolutionary youngsters in the magazines who would later become icons, such as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara; 2) The reports and «hearsay» of youth action, recorded in the articles and stimulated and amplified by street demonstrations, schematic readings, impromptu rallies, graffiti and slogans, etc. We discuss synchronicity as an aspect of this period of history that was associated with the sensory stimuli involved in demonstrations, as well as the creation of stereotypes and representations of youth
