Production of exotic isotopes in complete fusion reactions with radioactive beams
The isotopic dependence of the complete fusion (capture) cross section is
analyzed in the reactions
Xe+Ca with stable and
radioactive beams. It is shown for the first time that the very neutron-rich
nuclei W can be reached with relatively large cross sections by
complete fusion reactions with radioactive ion beams at incident energies near
the Coulomb barrier. A comparison between the complete fusion and fragmentation
reactions for the production of neutron-rich W and neutron-deficient Rn
isotopes is performed.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, accepted in PR
Pauli-Villars Regularization in nonperturbative Hamiltonian approach on the Light Front
The advantage of Pauli-Villars regularization in quantum field theory
quantized on the light front is explained. Simple examples of scalar
field theory and Yukawa-type model are used. We give also an
example of nonperturbative calculation in the theory with Pauli-Villars fields,
using for that a model of anharmonic oscillator modified by inclusion of ghost
variables playing the role similar to Pauli-Villars fields.Comment: LaTeX, 10 pages, 2 figures. Article will be published in AIP

Glass transition in fullerenes: mode-coupling theory predictions
We report idealized mode-coupling theory results for the glass transition of
ensembles of model fullerenes interacting via phenomenological two-body
potentials. Transition lines are found for C60, C70 and C96 in the
temperature-density plane. We argue that the observed glass-transition behavior
is indicative of kinetic arrest that is strongly driven by the inter-particle
attraction in addition to excluded-volume repulsion. In this respect, these
systems differ from most standard glass-forming liquids. They feature arrest
that occurs at lower densities and that is stronger than would be expected for
repulsion-dominated hard-sphere-like or Lennard-Jones-like systems. The
influence of attraction increases with increasing the number of carbon atoms
per molecule. However, unrealistically large fullerenes would be needed to
yield behavior reminiscent of recently investigated model colloids with strong
short-ranged attraction (glass-glass transitions and logarithmic decay of
time-correlation functions).Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure
Equilibrium and stability of non-linearly elastic bodies with cavities containing fluid
Boundary conditions are formulated on the surface of a cavity filled with a compressible fluid or gas for the equilibrium problem of an elastic body experiencing large deformations. A formulation is given of the stability problem for the equilibrium of a non-linearly elastic body with fluid inclusions. The stability problem is solved for a thick-walled closed spherical shell filled with gas and loaded by external pressure. © 1988

Appealing the diagnosis of occupational disease (clinical and expert case).
The article presents a clinical and expert case of appealing the diagnosis of occupational disease. Purpose: to provide an example of substantiated answer to the court action concerning the appeal of the diagnosis of occupational disease. A medical history of a patient who worked as an electric welder suffering from chronic bronchitis is described. Data on regulatory documents, acting in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine are presented. The main controversial issues that arise when linking the disease to working conditions are studied
