The impact of quality management systems on the efficiency of current assets management in small commercial enterprises

Purpose: Financial security and high profits are the basic goals set by the owners and managers running an enterprise. To achieve them, management tools and systems should be introduced to improve the efficiency of resource management that the company has. By optimizing the level of current assets one can reduce costs, which has a positive effect on the company profits and the level of financial liquidity. Therefore, improving the efficiency of wealth management is an important element of business management. The purpose of the article is to show how standardized quality management systems affect the efficiency of managing current assets and their basic components Design/Methodology/Approach: The analysis was carried out on a group of 159 trade companies. The research period covered the years 2015-2017.The enterprises surveyed were divided into those that implemented quality management systems (52 enterprises) and those that do not use this type of solutions (107 enterprises).Then, analyzes were made and the results obtained by the associated enterprises in individual groups were compared. The analysis of financial indicators and basic statistical methods (average, median) were used as the basic research tools. Findings: The introduction of quality management systems is designed to improve the efficiency of business management, also has the large impact on costs. The decrease in costs reduces the price of products and goods sold. ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF STANDARDIZED QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF COOPERATION IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN ON THE BASIS OF SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ORGANIZATIONS

Purpose: The main objective of this publication was to investigate the influence of standardized quality management system according to ISO 9001 on the improvement of cooperation in the supply chain from the point of view of small and medium-sized organizations.Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted in March and April 2014 using a technique online survey. Surveys were sent to a group of 150 small and medium-sized organizations carrying out their activities in the southern Polish. For the analysis classified 30 correctly completed questionnaires survey. In the study group there were 12 small and 18 medium-sized organizations.Findings: Analysis of the results showed for positive relationships between the implementation of ISO 9001 and integration with suppliers. In addition, respondents highly evaluated the impact of a standardized system for the improvement of procedures to support collaboration with suppliers.Research limitations/implications: Research for take into account only a narrow aspect of the functioning of the system. Decision on implementation should take into account a number of studies relating to: the effect of ISO on the financial results, the workload for system maintenance, the costs of audits and actions perfected etc.Practical implications: Test results may be helpful in deciding whether to implement a quality management system in small and medium-sized organizations.Originality/value: In Polish literature there is still relatively little research on the impact of quality management systems for the betterment of logistics processes.

Group Purchasing Vs. Net Working Capital

Abstract Net working capital is a measure of financial security of acompany. It is closely related to financial liquidity as its management is the management of current assets and current liabilities. Group purchases have a major impact on inventory management, short-term receivables and short-term liabilities as well as cash. Group purchasing is used in multi-stakeholder organizations such as group purchasing organizations (GPOs). Depending on the selected strategy of business management, group purchases have a positive impact on the company’s profitability or the level of working capital, i.e.,financial liquidity. Trade credit has a large role in shaping the level of working capital, which directly affects short-term receivables, short-term liabilities and the level of cash. In group purchasing organizations the managers, by organizing group purchases, can directly influence the level and structure of individual elements that build the level of net working capital. Konstruksi Pustaka Metagenom Prokariot Dari Permukaan Eucheuma Cottonii Untuk Mencari Gen Penyandi Κ-Karaginase

κ-Karaginan adalah koloid hidrofilik yang diekstrak dari makroalga Eucheuma cottonii. κ-karaginan mempunyai berat molekul yang sangat besar sehingga pemanfaatannya terbatas. Namun, dalam bentuk Carrageenan Oligosaccharide (COs), κ-karaginan mempunyai aktivitas fisik dan biologi yang bervariasi, termasuk anti tumor, anti oksidan dan anti angiogenik. Enzim κ-karaginase berperan memutus ikatan β-(1,4) pada κ-karaginan untuk menghasilkan κ-COs (κ-carrageenan oligosaccharide). Ada berbagai macam bakteri yang hidup di permukaan Eucheuma cottonii, namun hanya ada 1% bakteri yang dapat dikultur. Metode alternatif untuk eksplorasi bakteri di alam adalah metode metagenomik. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan eksplorasi gen κ-karaginase dari DNA metagenom prokariot yang menempel di permukaan Eucheuma cottonii. Konstruksi pustaka metagenom prokariot dilakukan terhadap kumpulan fragmen DNA hasil digesti dengan enzim restriksi SfiI. Kemudian fragmen DNA diligasi dengan fag λTriplEx2 dan dilakukan penentuan titer. Titer tertinggi didapatkan dari campuran ligasi dengan perbandingan DNA dan fag yaitu 3:2 sebesar 10,3 x 107. Kemudian plak positif diekspresikan melalui E.coli BM25,8 untuk mencari gen penyandi enzim κ-karaginase. Aktivitas positif enzim κ-karaginase ditandai dengan terbentuknya daerah halo. Kemudian klon rekombinan yang membentuk halo dikultivasi untuk produksi enzim κ-karaginase, dan diuji aktivitasnya untuk menentukan suhu dan pH optimum. Berdasarkan uji aktivitas ekstrak κ-karaginase terhadap suhu dan pH didapatkan 4 profil suhu dan pH optimum yang berbeda, dengan demikian telah didapatkan 4 macam gen penyandi enzim κ-karaginase

Field-circuit modeling of AMB system for various speeds of the rotor

The non-symmetrical twelve poles active magnetic bearing (AMB12) actuator has been considered. We also included the control system for the computer simulation. We have used the field-circuit method modeling included under various speed of the rotor. The electromechanical equation system has been solved taking into account the integral parameters obtained from Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of the magnetic field. We verified the calculations by the measurement tests under various values of the rotational speed of the AMB rotor. A good agreement has been achieved

The management efficiency of company finance has a major impact on the financial performance and on the safety of a company operation in the market. In every company managers should monitor regularly the use of assets and liabilities. For this purpose, a preliminary financial analysis and the selected performance ratios can be applied. The aim of the article was to present the impact of group purchasing organizations on the efficiency of managing selected assets and liabilities in trading companies. In the article the functioning and division of group purchasing organizations were presented and the ratios applied to evaluate them. The analysis was based on financial data. The study period covered the years 2013-2015. The analysis allowed determining the appropriate strategies for each group purchasing organizations
