A Micromechanics-Based Model for Stiffness and Strength Estimation of Cocciopesto Mortars
The purpose of this paper is to propose an inexpensive micromechanics-based scheme for stiffness homogenization and strength estimation of mortars containing crushed bricks, known as cocciopesto. The model utilizes the Mori-Tanaka method for determining the effective stiffness, combined with estimates of quadratic invariants of the deviatoric stresses inside phases to predict the compressive strength. Special attention is paid to the representation of the C-S-H gel layer around bricks and the interfacial transition zone around sand aggregates, which renders the predictions sensitive to particlesizes. Several parametric studies are performed to demonstrate that the method correctly reproduces the data and trends reported in the available literature. Moreover, the model is based exclusively on parameters with a clear physical or geometrical meaning, and as such it provides a convenient framework for its further experimental validation

Terrorism from the perspective of the Czech public administration
Naši vojáci působí v Iráku i Afghánistánu. Katedra veřejné správyObhájenoMost of us began perceive danger of terorrism after 11th September 2001, when happened to attack on World trade center in New York and in which died most people in whole history of terrorism. Incident from september 2001 began series military operations, which are considered global war on terrorism. In these operations are engaged directly and indirectly Czech republic. Our soldiers work in Iraqi and Afghanistan. Simultaneously our foreign policy positively supports world powers, are in sight a lot of terrorist groups. In our area has a number of institutions, are may become target terrorist attack, because their activity interfere to internal politics totalitarian regimes in the Middle East. All of these factors create on Czech republic one big imaginary target. State has the duty ensure residents adequate protection and make maximum for it. How fulfill this task, which institutions are involved in the war against terrorism in Czech republic, what instrumentality and competency they have and whether threatens our country real hazard of terrorist attack? These are questiones, vhich reader finds answers in next pages of this thesis
Rule learning is one way for knowledge discovery from databases. With the growing amount of machine-readable and linked data published on the web, conventional rule mining algorithms needed to be adapted to the properties of the knowledge graphs into which linked data are grouped. Knowledge graphs can contain millions of statements, describe different entities in different contexts, have a high degree of interconnectedness, are considered incomplete, and are therefore open to further dissemination. One of the algorithms capable of efficiently and quickly mining rules from knowledge graphs is AMIE. This algorithm combines various techniques from the field of inductive logic programming and association rule mining. This thesis presents several algorithmic extensions to AMIE, which make it faster and more robust. All proposed approaches have been implemented and encapsulated in a single rule mining system called RDFRules, which can handle many knowledge graphs at once, merge them and analyze input data, mine rules according to the AMIE approach, process output rules, and use them for predictive or descriptive purposes. The performed evaluations show that the proposed improvements of the AMIE algorithm reduce the mining time by up to several orders of magnitude. Furthermore, it has been shown that the newly proposed data pre-processing and rules post-processing methods can discover additional knowledge and provide a better predictive ability of the assembled models than in the case of other common approaches
Stereotypes about national minorities in Czech newspapers
Diploma thesis "Stereotypes about national minorities in Czech press" focus on depiction of national minorities. This paper monitors universal outlines, that had depiction of national minorities in 1925 and 2005 and verify hypotesis that is this depiction presents more stereotyped that it had been before eighty years. This paper gives harbours a theoretical part about the phenomenon of stereotype about its definition, function and also on the reasons of its usage in mass communication and the results of the quantitative content analysis newspaper articles covering the Czech scene in the daily newspaper "České slovo" in 1925 with articles in the daily newspaper "Mladá fronta DNES", that were published in 2005. This analysis shows a form of depiction of the representatives of the German and Polish minority groups in 1925 and depiction of the representatives of the Ukraine and Vietnam minority groups in 2005. Comparisation of the results of the both parts of analysis have confirm or uproot this hypotesis. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org
