The article covers the improvement of organizational and technological solutions of construction production through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and special software for remote control of construction of scattered facilities (for example, the construction of cottages in Kyiv region), the experience of using UAVs. Innovative approaches to the control of the life cycle of construction projects at the stages of engineering surveys and design works, zero cycle, construction of the above-ground part and further operation using drones and special software give the Ukraine construction sector companies a unique chance to realize their potential during the digital revolution and take their rightful place among world leaders. Due to the lack of operational, accurate data and indicators that describe the state of the construction site, companies face such problems as management’s lack of up-to-date information on the project implementation progress, late detection of actual of the progress of work performed from design documentation, uncontrolled human factor in the process of checking volumes and quality of works performed by contractors, insufficient communication between project participants. Subsequently, these factors lead to budget overruns and non-compliance with the estimated project deadlines. The experience of using UAVs in addressing such issues as the management’s lack of relevant information on state of affairs at construction site, late identification of actual deviations from the project documentation, uncontrolled influence of human factor in the process of checking the volume and quality of work performed by contractors, and insufficient communication between project participants. Based on the practical experience gained in the use of drones, it was concluded that drones are an effective tool with a wide range of applications for monitoring zero-cycle work and erection of the above-ground part of buildings.

BACKGROUND: Although animal studies have documented metformin's cardioprotective effects, the impact in humans remains elusive. The study objective was to explore the association between metformin and myocardial infarct size in patients with diabetes presenting with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction. METHODS AND RESULTS: Data extraction used the National Cardiovascular Data CathPCI Registry in all patients with diabetes aged >18 years presenting with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction at 2 academic medical centers from January 2010 to December 2013. The exposure of interest was ongoing metformin use before the event. Propensity score matching was used for the metformin and nonmetformin groups on key prognostic variables. All matched pairs had acceptable D scores of <10%, confirming an efficient matching procedure. The primary outcome was myocardial infarct size, reflected by peak serum creatine kinase–myocardial band, troponin T, and hospital discharge left ventricular ejection fraction. Of all 1726 ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction cases reviewed, 493 patients had diabetes (28.5%), with 208 metformin users (42.1%) and 285 nonusers. Matched pairs analysis yielded 137 cases per group. The difference between metformin and nonmetformin groups was −18.1 ng/mL (95% CI −55.0 to 18.8; P=0.56) for total peak serum creatine kinase–myocardial band and −1.1 ng/mL (95% CI −2.8 to 0.5; P=0.41) for troponin T. Median discharge left ventricular ejection fraction in both groups was 45, and the difference between metformin and nonmetformin users was 0.7% (95% CI −2.2 to 3.6; P=0.99). CONCLUSIONS: No statistically significant association of cardioprotection was found between metformin and myocardial infarct size in patients with diabetes and acute ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction

BACKGROUND Statins have an important and well-established role in the prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). However, several studies have reported widespread underuse of statins in various practice settings and populations. Review of relevant literature reveals opportunities for improvement in the implementation of guideline-directed statin therapy (GDST). AIM To examine the impact of cardiologist intervention on the use of GDST in the ambulatory setting. METHODS Patients with at least one encounter at the adult Internal Medicine Clinic (IMC) and/or Cardiology Clinic (CC), who had an available serum cholesterol test performed, were evaluated. The 2 comparison groups were defined as: (1) Patients only seen by IMC; and (2) Patients seen by both IMC and CC. Patients were excluded if variables needed for calculation of ASCVD risk scores were lacking, and if demographic information lacked guideline-directed treatment recommendations. Data were analyzed using student t-tests or χ2, as appropriate. Analysis of Variance was used to compare rates of adherence to GDST. RESULTS A total of 268 patients met the inclusion criteria for this study; 211 in the IMC group and 57 in the IMC-CC group. Overall, 56% of patients were female, mean age 56 years (± 10.65, SD), 22% Black or African American, 56% Hispanic/Latino, 14% had clinical ASCVD, 13% current smokers, 66% diabetic and 63% hypertensive. Statin use was observed in 55% (n = 147/268) of the entire patient cohort. In the IMC-CC group, 73.6% (n = 42/57) of patients were prescribed statin therapy compared to 50.7% (n = 107/211) of patients in the IMC group (P = 0.002). In terms of appropriate statin use based on guidelines, there was no statistical difference between groups [IMC-CC group 61.4% (n = 35/57) vs IMC group, 55.5% (n = 117/211), P = 0.421]. Patients in the IMC-CC group were older, had more cardiac risk factors and had higher proportions of non-white patients compared to the IMC group (P \u3c 0.02, all). CONCLUSION Although overall use of GDST was suboptimal, there was no statistical difference in appropriate statin use based on guidelines between groups managed by general internists alone or co-managed with a cardiologist. These findings highlight the need to design and implement strategies to improve adherence rates to GDST across all specialties

In this study, I introduce some new double sequence spaces B(Mu), B(Cp), B(Cbp), B(Cr) and B(Lq) as the domain of four-dimensional generalized difference matrix B(r,s,t,u) in the spaces Mu, Cp, Cbp, Cr and Lq, respectively. I show that the double sequence spaces B(Mu), B(Cbp) and B(Cr) are the Banach spaces under some certain conditions. I give some inclusion relations with some topological properties. Moreover, I determine the α-dual of the spaces B(Mu) and B(Cbp), the β(ϑ)-duals of the spaces B(Mu), B(Cp), B(Cbp), B(Cr) and B(Lq), where ϑ∈{p,bp,r}, and the γ-dual of the spaces B(Mu), B(Cbp) and B(Lq). Finally, I characterize the classes of four-dimensional matrix mappings defined on the spaces B(Mu), B(Cp), B(Cbp), B(Cr) and B(Lq) of double sequences

Temperature dependence of the emission linewidth in MgO-based spin torque nano-oscillators

Spin transfer driven excitations in magnetic nanostructures are characterized by a relatively large microwave emission linewidth (10 -100 MHz). Here we investigate the role of thermal fluctuations as well as of the non-linear amplitude-phase coupling parameter and the amplitude relaxation rate to explain the linewidth broadening of in-plane precession modes induced in planar nanostructures. Experiments on the linewidth broadening performed on MgO based magnetic tunnel junctions are compared to the linewidth obtained from macrospin simulations and from evaluation of the phase variance. In all cases we find that the linewidth varies linearly with temperature when the amplitude relaxation rate is of the same order as the linewidth and when the amplitude-phase coupling parameter is relatively small. The small amplitude-phase coupling parameter means that the linewidth is dominated by direct phase fluctuations and not by amplitude fluctuations, explaining thus its linear dependence as a function of temperature

Perineuronal Net Formation and the Critical Period for Neuronal Maturation in the Hypothalamic Arcuate Nucleus

In leptin-deficient ob/ob mice, obesity and diabetes are associated with abnormal development of neurocircuits in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus (ARC)1, a critical brain area for energy and glucose homoeostasis2,3. Because this developmental defect can be remedied by systemic leptin administration, but only if given before postnatal day 28, a critical period for leptin-dependent development of ARC neurocircuits has been proposed4. In other brain areas, critical-period closure coincides with the appearance of perineuronal nets (PNNs), extracellular matrix specializations that restrict the plasticity of neurons that they enmesh5. Here we report that in humans and rodents, subsets of neurons in the mediobasal aspect of the ARC are enmeshed in PNN-like structures. In mice, these neurons are densely packed into a continuous ring that encircles the junction of the ARC and median eminence, which facilitates exposure of ARC neurons to the circulation. Most of the enmeshed neurons are both γ-aminobutyric acid-ergic and leptin-receptor positive, including a majority of Agouti-related-peptide neurons. Postnatal formation of the PNN-like structures coincides precisely with closure of the critical period for maturation of Agouti-related-peptide neurons and is dependent on input from circulating leptin, because postnatal ob/ob mice have reduced ARC PNN-like material that is restored by leptin administration during the critical period. We conclude that neurons crucial to metabolic homoeostasis are enmeshed in PNN-like structures and organized into a densely packed cluster situated circumferentially at the ARC–median eminence junction, where metabolically relevant humoral signals are sensed

The development and growth of tissues derived from cranial neural crest and primitive mesoderm is dependent on the ligation status of retinoic acid receptor γ:evidence that retinoic acid receptor γ functions to maintain stem/progenitor cells in the absence of retinoic acid

Retinoic acid (RA) signaling is important to normal development. However, the function of the different RA receptors (RARs)-RARα, RARβ, and RARγ-is as yet unclear. We have used wild-type and transgenic zebrafish to examine the role of RARγ. Treatment of zebrafish embryos with an RARγ-specific agonist reduced somite formation and axial length, which was associated with a loss of hoxb13a expression and less-clear alterations in hoxc11a or myoD expression. Treatment with the RARγ agonist also disrupted formation of tissues arising from cranial neural crest, including cranial bones and anterior neural ganglia. There was a loss of Sox 9-immunopositive neural crest stem/progenitor cells in the same anterior regions. Pectoral fin outgrowth was blocked by RARγ agonist treatment. However, there was no loss of Tbx-5-immunopositive lateral plate mesodermal stem/progenitor cells and the block was reversed by agonist washout or by cotreatment with an RARγ antagonist. Regeneration of the caudal fin was also blocked by RARγ agonist treatment, which was associated with a loss of canonical Wnt signaling. This regenerative response was restored by agonist washout or cotreatment with the RARγ antagonist. These findings suggest that RARγ plays an essential role in maintaining stem/progenitor cells during embryonic development and tissue regeneration when the receptor is in its nonligated state

Hypothalamic AgRP and POMC neurons are conventionally viewed as the yin and yang of the body’s energy status, since they act in an opposite manner to modulate appetite and systemic energy metabolism. However, although AgRP neurons’ functions are comparatively well understood, a unifying theory of how POMC neuronal cells operate has remained elusive, probably due to their high level of heterogeneity, which suggests that their physiological roles might be more complex than initially thought. In this Perspective, we propose a conceptual framework that integrates POMC neuronal heterogeneity with appetite regulation, whole-body metabolic physiology and the development of obesity. We highlight emerging evidence indicating that POMC neurons respond to distinct combinations of interoceptive signals and food-related cues to fine-tune divergent metabolic pathways and behaviours necessary for survival. The new framework we propose reflects the high degree of developmental plasticity of this neuronal population and may enable progress towards understanding of both the aetiology and treatment of metabolic disorders.
