The general result of the study show that the role of school principal in increasing english teacher capability was run well.     The purpose of this study is to describe management of teaching and learning English to improve writing skill of student at Junior High School 4 of Bengkulu City. The data collected by using instrument such as observation, interview and documentation The result of the research shows that firstly teacher prepares lesson plan based on the syllabus of curriculum 2013. Secondly, teacher implements learning activity to improve writing skill uses scientific approach and discovery learning model. Teacher uses Learning process integrated to other skill such as speaking and reading comprehension, also supporting skill such as grammar and vocabulary.     This research aimed to 1) reveal how much the effect of value, image, satisfaction, customer services, and warranty on customer loyalty of ABC soya in Palembang, and 2) know dominant variables affecting the customer loyalty of ABC soya in Palembang. The method used in this study was causal method. The number of the samples are 120 respondents. The data collection techniques used are quesionaires, and interviews. And then, analyzed using multiple linier regression with statistical product for special solution (SPSS) for windows version 13,0.This research results indicated that factor of value, image, satisfaction, customer services, and warranty has positive effect on customer loyalty of ABC soya in Palembang that is 34.3%, the rest are caused by the others factor , and partially the factor of satisfaction had a dominant effects on costumer loyalty of ABC soya in Palembang

    There has been considerable concern about how ongoing consolidation in financial systems around the world will affect competition. Indeed, much of the recent public debate seems to assume that perfect competition in banking is ideal. Such a thing will force each bank to understand how to make their customers satisfied. This research was aimed to examine how trust and confidence benefit on customer commitment affect the customer\u27s satisfaction. To understand this isntance, questionnaires were distributed to the target respondents. Samples were taken using convenience sampling. Total respondents of 100 were obtained. Using both descriptive and statistical analysis, results were obtained. Regression analysis was implemented. Based on partial analysis, results showed that trust and confidence benefit have significant influence to the customer commitment, while satisfaction do not provide a significant influence to the customer commitment . Finally on the basis of the finding, recomendations that is to improve and to maintain the performance of independent variables (trust and confidence benefits) and especially on the confidence benefit variable have been made

    Correlation between the NASA's Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission Data and Indonesia Meteorology and Geophysics Agency of Kalimantan Island

    The island of Kalimantan, especially the East Kalimantan area, has been included in the discourse on the development of the State Capital of the Republic of Indonesia. It is necessary to carry out further scientific studies from various aspects, one of which is rainfall. The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and NASA's The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) are agencies for measuring rainfall in Indonesia. The BMKG ground rainfall data recording still leaves a void given the limitations of recording at rain observation stations, while the TRMM satellite rainfall data can provide complete data. The purpose of the study was to analyze the equations and correlations of ground rainfall data BMKG and TRMM satellite rainfall data and analyze the feasibility level of TRMM satellite rainfall data to be able to represent BMKG ground rainfall data that is missing or out of reach of rainfall observation stations. Rainfall data was used for 20 years (1998-2019) at rain stations on the island of Borneo. Data were analyzed in the form of daily, 7 daily, monthly and yearly. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the greater the cumulative number, the greater the similarity of the BMKG and TRMM patterns, with the highest correlation value in the annual cumulative (0.661-0.909). TRMM rainfall data is considered capable and feasible as an alternative in filling in missing BMKG rainfall data, especially as a substitute for certain area data that is difficult to measure

    Effects of Myristica fragrans Houtt. (nutmeg) extract on chemical characteristic of raw beef during frozen storage

    The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt.) extract at different concentrations on chemical characteristics of raw beef under frozen storage. Nutmeg extracts at concentrations of 0.25%, 0.65%, 1.25%, 2.50% and 5.00% (g/ml) were used to treat raw beef (2.5 × 2.5 × 1.0 cm; 4 ± 0.5 g) with dilution method. Treated samples were then individually packed in overwrapped trays and stored for 3 weeks at -18 ± 1°C. The effects of the extract on the chemical characteristics such as lipid oxidation, colour, pH, moisture, fat, and protein content of raw beef were evaluated at 0, 4, 7, 10, 14 and 21 days of storage. Lipid oxidation was evaluated based on thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance (TBARS) content. Colour of beef was observed by spectrophotometer in colorimetic parameters CIELabs. Values of pH were measured using pH meter. Moisture, fat and protein content were determined using method by Analysis Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC). The result showed that extract at concentration of 1.25% inhibited TBARS value meaning that extract of 1.25% or more was able to maintain the oxidative stability of beef at -18°C. A 1.25% of extract was also able to maintain the redness (a*) of treated beef compared to untreated during frozen storage. The pH values of all samples beef decreased starting from 10th day of storage. Untreated samples (0.00%) showed the lowest pH values compared to other treated samples at the end day of storage. There was no significant different in term of protein content in all treated or untreated samples. However, fat and moisture content were significantly affected by the concentration of nutmeg extract. Treated beef was able to retain its moisture with only loss of moisture ranging from 0.2% - 2.00% while untreated samples had 5.00% loss of moisture. The fat content of untreated samples (0.00%) showed a reduction of 0.2% of fat content at the end of storage compared to all treated sample with only loss of 0.1% - 0.05%. Overall, nutmeg extract can be used to maintain the chemical characteristics of raw beef during storage for 3 weeks

    Sorghum and millet are food crop cereals that grow well in diverse climate and soil condition including in dry climate in Indonesia. This high dry climate adaptability among other beneficial characteristics such as resistance to pests and high productivity, makes them very potential food plants to cultivate to support food availability for mankind. Recently it has been reported than both sorghum and millet have health functionality due to their bioactive components in addition to the normally existing nutrient content such as phenolic and fibers compounds. ?-glucan is among the fiber content in sorghum and possibly millet and has been reported to produce good health effects such as prevents diabetes, radiation, and inflammation, and lowers cholesterol. Our previous research has shown that both sorghum and millet have high antioxidant activities. The method of research in this study consists of two procedures. The first one consists of trying of processing procedures of sorghum and millet. The best processing procedures were screened by organoleptic evaluation and chemical analysis. The second procedure consist of ?-glucan extraction and testing in immune-modulator on human lymphocyte cells. The results of this research showed that both sorghum polished for 20 second and millet for 100 second as the most accepted by limited panelist. Extract glucan are the highest from unpolished (12%) and polished for 20 second (6.7%) while millet polished for 100 second resulted in 3.2% glucan. Sorghum and millet that have the highest glucan content also showed the highest lymphocyte proliferation stimulation activity obtained in our previous research, which indicate immunomodulator activity of both sorghum and millet related to their glucan content. Abstrak: Sorgum dan jewawut merupakan tanaman serealia yang dapat tumbuh di berbagai keadaan lingkungan sehingga sangat potensial dibudidayakan dan dikembangkan, khususnya pada daerah-daerah marginal dan kering di Indonesia. Keunggulan sorgum terletak pada daya agroekologi yang luas, tahan terhadap kekeringan, produksi tinggi, lebih tahan terhadap hama dan penyakit dibandingkan tanaman pangan lain. Sorgum dan jewawut merupa-kan serealia yang menyehatkan dan berpotensi menggantikan beras sehingga menunjang program diversifikasi pangan sumber karbohidrat, mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dan kandungan vitamin dan mineral, juga merupakan sumber serat pangan yang sangat baik bagi kesehatan pencernaan dan kesehatan secara umum. Serat pangan ?-glukan merupakan komponen penting yang terdapat pada sorgum dan jewawut dilaporkan memberi pengaruh positif terhadap kesehatan seperti antihiperkolesterol, antiradiasi, antiinflamasi dan antidiabetes. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meningkat-kan potensi serealia sorgum dan jewawut sebagai pangan fungsional yang berfungsi sebagai imunomodulator. Metode penelitian ini terdiri dari dua tahap yakni tahapan pertama meliputi pengolahan sorgum dan jewawut berdasarkan waktu penyosohan. Tahapan kedua adalah analisa kandungan gizi seperti analisa proksimat, ekstraksi ?-glukan, uji aktivitas imuno-modulator terhadap proliferasi sel limfosit. Hasil penelitian terhadap tepung biji sorgum dan jewawut berdasarkan waktu sosoh 20 detik untuk sorgum dan 100 detik untuk jewawut terpilih beberapa formula yang digunakan untuk analisa terbaik. Ekstrak glukan tertinggi pada sorgum non sosoh (12%) dan sosohan 20 detik (6.7%) sedangkan untuk jewawut pada sosohan 100 detik (3.2%). Ekstrak serat glukan tertinggi signifikan terhadap indeks stimulasi proliferasi sel limfosit dan berbeda nyata dengan kontrol. Hal ini menandakan adanya aktivitas imunomodulator ekstrak glukan dari sorgum dan jewawut. Kata Kunci: Sorgum, Jewawut, Ekstrak Glukan, Proliferasi sel limfosit
