Heart Failure Self-Management

Heart failure is a chronic health problem. Heart failure is costly for society, resulting in high morbidity and mortality which accounts for large public spending on this disease. Heart failure (HF) management is complex and requires coordination between patients, families, and their health team members. Self-management (SM) of HF is an important component of chronic disease management and, when done well, aids in preventing HF exacerbations and unnecessary hospitalizations. There are gaps in nursing knowledge of as to which strategies best account for successful outcomes of SM in HF and which patient attributes help contribute to better SM. To clarify these gaps, this dissertation tested concepts of the Individual and Family Self-Management Theory (Rayan & Sawin, 2009). This dissertation also examined association of the complexity of conditions, self-regulation and self-efficacy with self-management behavior in a population of patients with heart failure from a large Midwestern hospital. This was a cross-sectional correlational study. Complexity of conditions was not associated with heart failure behavior, and self-regulation and self-efficacy predicted some but not all self-management behaviors and there was no mediation among the variables. This study contributed to the accumulated knowledge of heart failure self-management and when seeking explanations for the study findings, underlined challenges of HF self-management

HISTORIOGRAPHIC ASPECT OF FORMATION OF THE STATE BOUNDARY ON MATERIALS OF XIX – EARLY ХХ

In the article the author carries out the analysis of historiographic sources concerning the history of formation the Russian-Chinese boundary up to the beginning of the XX century. Author allocates several geographical areas, one of which (Urjanhajsky Territory) becomes a material for the description of specificity of boundaries formation between the Russian and the Tsin Empires. The author distinguishes two points of view on border demarcation and affiliation of Urjanchs’ territories. The author also describes the specificity of the borderline as the combination of a complex of matters concerning the boundary space.

Influence of Radioactive Contamination of the Sr-90 Terrestrial Ecosystems on the Enzymatic Activity of the Soil

One of the most promising methods of soil diagnostics is the determination of the parameters of enzymatic activity. Changes in urease, invertase, dehydrogenase and catalase activity of soil subjected to radioactive contamination with radionuclide Sr-90 have been studied. When the specific activity of Sr-90 in the soil varies in the range from the control value to more than 1.5 kBq / kg, the stability of invertase, urease and dehydrogenase is established. At the same time, the catalase activity of the soil is a sensitive indicator to radioactive contamination, which is described by a reliable model with a threshold value, after which the oppression of the indicator is observed

The role of vascular disorders in the genesis and maintenance of infammation in the pathogenesis of rosacea

<p><em>Aims. </em>The study was aimed to identify relationships of immune disorders and angiogenesis in patients at different stages of rosacea. <em>Materials and methods. </em>We examined 110 patients with rosacea. The diagnosis was based on diagnostic criteria. We summarized the role of predictors in the development of rosacea. We investigated pro- and anti-infammatory cytokines, vascular endothelial growth actor (VEGF), fbroblast growth factor (FGF) for the detection of immune disorders and angiogenesis. <em>Results. </em>The immune response in patients with rosacea was of mixed Th-1 and Th-2 type which can be markers of chronic autoimmune infammation. Research performance frequency-modulated signals in anisotropic environment with the aid of matlab software

Relevance of consideration in this paper tasks is to improve the existing methods of electromagnetic geological exploration and development of new methods of search and identification of oil and gas fields on the basis of frequency modulated (FM) signals. Using the software Matlab analyzes the frequency components of the surface impedance of the medium over hydrocarbon deposits (HD) when changing the FM, a variation of which extends the functionality of the components depending on the resistance of the modulation modes and to improve the information content of the developed methods to search for HD. In this paper we have determined values of the components of the surface impedance of an anisotropic medium plasma-type, which was selected as the hydrocarbon deposit.
