Representations of sl(2,?) in category O and master symmetries
We show that the indecomposable sl(2,?)-modules in the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category O naturally arise for homogeneous integrable nonlinear evolution systems. We then develop a new approach called the O scheme to construct master symmetries for such integrable systems. This method naturally allows computing the hierarchy of time-dependent symmetries. We finally illustrate the method using both classical and new examples. We compare our approach to the known existing methods used to construct master symmetries. For new integrable equations such as a Benjamin-Ono-type equation, a new integrable Davey-Stewartson-type equation, and two different versions of (2+1)-dimensional generalized Volterra chains, we generate their conserved densities using their master symmetries
Ultra-fast vortex motion in dirty Nb-C superconductor with a close-to-perfect edge barrier
The ultra-fast dynamics of superconducting vortices harbors rich physics
generic to nonequilibrium collective systems. The phenomenon of flux-flow
instability (FFI), however, prevents its exploration and sets practical limits
for the use of vortices in various applications. To suppress the FFI, a
superconductor should exhibit a rarely achieved combination of properties: weak
volume pinning, close-to-depairing critical current, and fast heat removal from
heated electrons. Here, we demonstrate experimentally ultra-fast vortex motion
at velocities of 10-15 km/s in a directly written Nb-C superconductor in which
a close-to-perfect edge barrier orders the vortex motion at large current
values. The spatial evolution of the FFI is described using the edge-controlled
FFI model, implying a chain of FFI nucleation points along the sample edge and
their development into self-organized Josephson-like junctions (vortex rivers).
In addition, our results offer insights into the applicability of widely used
FFI models and suggest Nb-C to be a good candidate material for fast
single-photon detectors.Comment: 12 pages, 7 page
Classification of polynomial integrable systems of mixed scalar and vector evolution equations. I
We perform a classification of integrable systems of mixed scalar and vector
evolution equations with respect to higher symmetries. We consider polynomial
systems that are homogeneous under a suitable weighting of variables. This
paper deals with the KdV weighting, the Burgers (or potential KdV or modified
KdV) weighting, the Ibragimov-Shabat weighting and two unfamiliar weightings.
The case of other weightings will be studied in a subsequent paper. Making an
ansatz for undetermined coefficients and using a computer package for solving
bilinear algebraic systems, we give the complete lists of 2nd order systems
with a 3rd order or a 4th order symmetry and 3rd order systems with a 5th order
symmetry. For all but a few systems in the lists, we show that the system (or,
at least a subsystem of it) admits either a Lax representation or a linearizing
transformation. A thorough comparison with recent work of Foursov and Olver is
made.Comment: 60 pages, 6 tables; added one remark in section 4.2.17 (p.33) plus

Temperature-dependent magnetospectroscopy of HgTe quantum wells
We report on magnetospectroscopy of HgTe quantum wells in magnetic fields up
to 45 T in temperature range from 4.2 K up to 185 K. We observe intra- and
inter-band transitions from zero-mode Landau levels, which split from the
bottom conduction and upper valence subbands, and merge under the applied
magnetic field. To describe experimental results, realistic
temperature-dependent calculations of Landau levels have been performed. We
show that although our samples are topological insulators at low temperatures
only, the signature of such phase persists in optical transitions at high
temperatures and high magnetic fields. Our results demonstrate that
temperature-dependent magnetospectroscopy is a powerful tool to discriminate
trivial and topological insulator phases in HgTe quantum wells
Intrinsic Terahertz Plasmons and Magnetoplasmons in Large Scale Monolayer Graphene
We show that in graphene epitaxially grown on SiC the Drude absorption is
transformed into a strong terahertz plasmonic peak due to natural nanoscale
inhomogeneities, such as substrate terraces and wrinkles. The excitation of the
plasmon modifies dramatically the magneto-optical response and in particular
the Faraday rotation. This makes graphene a unique playground for
plasmon-controlled magneto-optical phenomena thanks to a cyclotron mass 2
orders of magnitude smaller than in conventional plasmonic materials such as
noble metals.Comment: to appear in Nano Letter
Dark Matter Search Perspectives with GAMMA-400
GAMMA-400 is a future high-energy gamma-ray telescope, designed to measure
the fluxes of gamma-rays and cosmic-ray electrons + positrons, which can be
produced by annihilation or decay of dark matter particles, and to survey the
celestial sphere in order to study point and extended sources of gamma-rays,
measure energy spectra of Galactic and extragalactic diffuse gamma-ray
emission, gamma-ray bursts, and gamma-ray emission from the Sun. GAMMA-400
covers the energy range from 100 MeV to ~3000 GeV. Its angular resolution is
~0.01 deg(Eg > 100 GeV), and the energy resolution ~1% (Eg > 10 GeV). GAMMA-400
is planned to be launched on the Russian space platform Navigator in 2019. The
GAMMA-400 perspectives in the search for dark matter in various scenarios are
presented in this paperComment: 4 pages, 4 figures, submitted to the Proceedings of the International

Depth concentrations of deuterium ions implanted into some pure metals and alloys
Pure metals (Cu, Ti, Zr, V, Pd) and diluted Pd-alloys (Pd-Ag, Pd-Pt, Pd-Ru,
Pd-Rh) were implanted by 25 keV deuterium ions at fluences in the range
(1.2{\div}2.3)x1022 D+/m2. The post-treatment depth distributions of deuterium
ions were measured 10 days and three months after the implantation using
Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ERDA) and Rutherford Backscattering (RBS).
Comparison of the obtained results allowed to make conclusions about relative
stability of deuterium and hydrogen gases in pure metals and diluted Pd alloys.
Very high diffusion rates of implanted deuterium ions from V and Pd pure metals
and Pd alloys were observed. Small-angle X-ray scattering revealed formation of
nanosized defects in implanted corundum and titanium.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figure
Measurement of the decay form factors in the OKA experiment
A precise measurement of the vector and axial-vector form factors difference
in the decay is presented.
About 95K events of are selected in
the OKA experiment. The result is .
Both errors are smaller than in the previous measurements.Comment: 9 pages, 8 figure
