Smart actuators have many potential applications in various areas, so the development of novel actuation materials, with facile fabricating methods and excellent performances, are still urgent needs. In this work, a novel electromechanical bimorph actuator constituted by a graphene layer and a PVDF layer, is fabricated through a simple yet versatile solution approach. The bimorph actuator can deflect toward the graphene side under electrical stimulus, due to the differences in coefficient of thermal expansion between the two layers and the converse piezoelectric effect and electrostrictive property of the PVDF layer. Under low voltage stimulus, the actuator (length: 20 mm, width: 3 mm) can generate large actuation motion with a maximum deflection of about 14.0 mm within 0.262 s and produce high actuation stress (more than 312.7 MPa/g). The bimorph actuator also can display reversible swing behavior with long cycle life under high frequencies. on this basis, a fish-like robot that can swim at the speed of 5.02 mm/s is designed and demonstrated. The designed graphene-PVDF bimorph actuator exhibits the overall novel performance compared with many other electromechanical avtuators, and may contribute to the practical actuation applications of graphene-based materials at a macro scale

Abstract-Chronic diseases are gradually becoming the principal factors of harm to people's health. Fortunately, the development of e-health provides a novel thought for chronic disease prevention and treatment. This paper focuses on the research of cardiovascular disease (CVDs) prevention and early warning techniques using e-health and data mining. In this paper, we will use weighted associative classification algorithm to model the data in healthcare database to determine the level of cardiovascular risk. Besides, on the basis of data mining and knowledge discovery, intelligent warning mechanisms are proposed to provide different services to patients with different levels of risk. The experimental results show that the used classification algorithm is a more effective mining algorithm in the field of healthcare with higher accuracy and better comprehension. Our study is of definite significance to help control risk level of CVDs patients

Machine learning facilitated the modeling of plastics hydrothermal pretreatment towards constructing an on-ship marine litter-to-methanol plant

An onboard facility shows promise in efficiently converting floating plastics into valuable products, such as methanol, negating the need for regional transport and land-based treatment. Gasification presents an effective means of processing plastics, requiring their transformation into gasification-compatible feedstock, such as hydrochar. This study explores hydrochar composition modeling, utilizing advanced algorithms and rigorous analyses to unravel the intricacies of elemental composition ratios, identify influential factors, and optimize hydrochar production processes. The investigation begins with decision tree modeling, which successfully captures relationships but encounters overfitting challenges. Nevertheless, the decision tree vote analysis, particularly for the H/C ratio, yielding an impressive R2 of 0.9376. Moreover, the research delves into the economic feasibility of the marine plastics-to-methanol process. Varying payback periods, driven by fluctuating methanol prices observed over a decade (ranging from 3.3 to 7 yr for hydrochar production plants), are revealed. Onboard factories emerge as resilient solutions, capitalizing on marine natural gas resources while striving for near-net-zero emissions. This comprehensive study advances our understanding of hydrochar composition and offers insights into the economic potential of environmentally sustainable marine plastics-to-methanol processes

Study on promoting transmittance on dielectric multi-layers for IGZO LCD displays

    Get PDF
In recent years, IGZO is widely used in TFT-LCD owing to its good electric properties comparing to a- Si.The first prototype of 85-inch 8K4K 120Hz LCD with ВСЕ-IGZO structure from CSOT in the world attracted many peers’ eyes in 2016. With the increase of TV size and refresh rate from customer’s demand, IGZO is good choice to satisfy the technical inde instead of a-Si. To overcome this shortcomings, complex layers of SiOx and SiNx is a welcome solution for Gl and top passivation insulator (PV) layers with the high permittivity and process. From our previous study in numerical simulation, the complex layer could result in color shift and low transmittance for R, G and B. In this paper, the optimization experiments was carried out to demonstrate the theoretical prediction and adopted in a demo of IGZO TFT LCD displays

Artemisia pollen allergy in China : Component-resolved diagnosis reveals allergic asthma patients have significant multiple allergen sensitization

Background: Artemisia pollen allergy is a major cause of asthma in Northern China. Possible associations between IgE responses to Artemisia allergen components and clinical phenotypes have not yet been evaluated. This study was to establish sensitization patterns of four Artemisia allergens and possible associations with demographic characteristics and clinical phenotypes in three areas of China. Methods: Two hundred and forty patients allergic to Artemisia pollen were examined, 178 from Shanxi and 30 from Shandong Provinces in Northern China, and 32 from Yunnan Province in Southwestern China. Allergic asthma, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and eczema symptoms were diagnosed. All patients sera were tested by ImmunoCAP with mugwort pollen extract and the natural components nArt v 1, nArt ar 2, nArt v 3, and nArt an 7. Results: The frequency of sensitization and the IgE levels of the four components in Artemisia allergic patients from Southwestern China were significantly lower than in those from the North. Art v 1 and Art an 7 were the most frequently recognized allergens (84% and 87%, respectively), followed by Art v 3 (66%) and Art ar 2 (48%). Patients from Northern China were more likely to have allergic asthma (50%) than patients from Southwestern China (3%), and being sensitized to more than two allergens increased the risk of allergic asthma, in which cosensitization to three major allergens Art v 1, Art v 3, and Art an 7 is prominent. Conclusions: Componentresolved diagnosis of Chinese Artemisia pollenallergic patients helps assess the potential risk of mugwortassociated allergic asthma.(VLID)329956

The Evaluation of Regional Water-Saving Irrigation Development Level in Humid Regions of Southern China

    No full text
Water-saving irrigation development level (WIDL) refers to reasonably and accurately judging a water-saving area based on the analysis of all factors affecting the water-saving irrigation development. The evaluation of regional WIDL is the premise of scientific planning guidance to irrigation work. How to select reasonable evaluation indexes and build a scientific and comprehensive model to evaluate WIDL is of great significance. In this study, the comprehensive evaluation index system of WIDL in 21 cities (states) of the Sichuan province in China (a typical humid region in southern China) was constructed, and the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) method was improved to evaluate WIDL. Results showed that the overall development level of water-saving irrigation was “poor” in Sichuan province. The water-saving irrigation level turned out to be “good” in three regions with advantageous geographical conditions and developed economies, “general” in four regions with good economic levels where agronomy water saving has been popularized, and “poor” in fourteen regions of mountainous and hilly areas, especially Ganzi, Aba, and Liangshan, located in the Northwest plateau of Sichuan province, with poor natural resources and insufficient economies. The evaluation results were in good agreement with the actual situation, and in this area, there is enormous potential for the development of water-saving irrigation strategies. This study provides an important technical approach for the evaluation of water-saving irrigation development in humid regions of Southern China
