    New fungal sources for α-L-Rhamnosidase: an important enzyme used in the synthesis of drugs and drug precursors

    Two fungal strains were isolated and tentatively identified as Penicillium VY and Aspergillus VY. All the isolated species show the maximum production on third day in a liquid culture media. The pH optimum was found to be 10.0 for Penicillium VY and 11.0 for Aspergillus VY. The temperature optima were 50ºC in both the cases. The enzyme produced by Penicillium VY was found to be stable in the pH range 3.0-7.0 and 3.0–6.0 in case of Aspergillus VY. The enzyme does not loose activity up to 40º C in case of Penicillium VY and 40ºC in case of Aspergillus VY if exposed for 1 h.

    A New Block S-Random Interleaver for Shorter Length Frames for Turbo Codes

    In this paper, we have proposed a new design of interleaver based on S-random and block interleaver. The characteristics of both block and S-random interleaver are used by this proposed interleaver.  There is a large influence of free distance in turbo codes due to interleaving as it lowers the error floor. The free distance of turbo codes can be increased by designing interleaver with high spread. In this case, the overall spreading factor is increased significantly for smaller length frames also. The simulations results are compared with full S-random interleavers. The bit error rate performance of proposed interleaver for Turbo codes is much better than full s-random interleaver at the cost of small delay

    This review deals with recent works on the process and technological aspects of wood-plastic composites (WPCs) manufacturing.WPCs relate to any composites that are built from wood and non-wood fibers and thermoplastic polymers. Recent progress relevant to wood-plastic composites has been reviewed in this article. The process and technological aspects of WPC, such as raw materials, fabrication, mechanical, physical, thermal, and morphological properties, were outlined comprehensively. The manufacturing process of WPCs is an important aspect of WPCs production. Manufacturing methods like compression molding and pultrusion have some limitations. Extrusion and injection molding processes are the most widely used in WPCs due to their effectiveness. Recent developments dealing with WPCs and the use of different kinds of nanofillers in WPCs have also been presented and discussed. Nanoclays are widely used as nanofillers in WPCs because they represent an eco-friendly, readily available in large quantity, and inexpensive filler.     THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF PRATIMARSHA NASYA W.S.R. TO SLEEP PHYSIOLOGY

    Study was planned to preventively deal with sleep disturbances which are waiting to become public health problem. As much as 30% individuals among apparently healthy individuals in India suffer from occasional insomnia. Ayurveda classics offered a solution by use of Pratimarsha Nasya as daily regimen to improve sleep quality. Anu taila is best used for Nasya Karma, so was chosen as medicine for this clinical observational study. Material and methods- 28 subjects were selected randomly and every evening two drops Anu taila in each nostril was administered for 3 months. Result- Significant improvement was found on PSQI, ESS sleepiness scale as well as self developed Sukhnidra Sukhprabodham scale. For self developed sleep quality assessment scale, null scores were present in the enrolled subjects with Baseline mean + SD 0.00 + 0.00 and gradual increase across subsequent intervals. Mean + SD after Trial is 14.54 +1.97. So subjects showed significant response to Pratimarsha nasya with p value <0.0001 and Z value 4.647. Conclusion- Overall sleep quality is more improved after administration of pratimarsha nasya, different components of sleep quality considered viz. getting to sleep, quality of sleep, awake following sleep, behaviour following wakening all are positively changed. Pratimarsha nasya has such a vast positive effect on physiology of sleep that it deserves to be incorporated in daily regimen and can be called as “two drops for well-being of Urdhvajatru”

    Anti-Oxidant potential of Herbal formulation (Sahaj Vati) Modulating Leptin, Insulin activity

    Obesity increased at alarming rate considered as serious health risks and World Health Organization wish to halt rise of obesity. Therefore, search for treatment, dietary interventions is necessary to attenuate and/or prevent the obesity. Sahaj Vati was prepared by Shilajeet, Curcuma longa, Plumbago zeylanica, Commiphora mukul and might be reduces obesity. Twenty four albino rats were randomized into four equal groups were selected as control, positive control, as standard (orlistate) and Sahaj Vati treated group, respectively. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) was administered at dose of 10 mg/kg body weight for 10 days and Sahaj Vati & orlistate was administered orally at dose of 200 and 10 mg/kg body weight respectively for four week. After four week, body weight of animals, serum leptin, insulin, total oxidant, total antioxidant and oxidative stress index were estimated. It was observed that body weight was significantly increased by MSG whereas body weight, was significantly decreased by orlistat and Sahaj Vati. Sahaj Vati significantly increased insulin concentration, total anti-oxidant status and decreased total oxidant status & oxidative stress and significantly decreased leptin concentration.  Thus, Sahaj Vati decreases body weight by modulating leptin & insulin concentration as well as total oxidant status, total anti-oxidant status & oxidative stress.

    A Systematic review of factors affecting compliance toward oral iron-folic acid supplementation among pregnant women in India.

    Background: Iron-folic acid deficiency is the most common complication during pregnancy. Iron deficiency is responsible for various health complications among pregnant women. Compliance with IFA supplementation is variable across India several factors are associated with compliance with IFA supplementation. Objective: The objective of this systematic review is to assess the factors affecting compliance toward oral iron-folic acid supplementation among pregnant women in India. Methods: The primary search was carried out using PubMed, Google scholar, the WHO website, and Research Gate which provide access to full?text research articles from January 2012 to 25th January 2022 published data were searched. Result: A total of 74 studies were identified, and 20 were included in this review. Out of the 20 studies, sixteen were cross-sectional, two mixed methods, and two randomized control trials. knowledge of IFA, education, socioeconomic status, the timing of registration and number of antenatal visits, type of family, and age of the pregnant women were the factors that affect the compliance of IFA supplementation. Conclusion: Knowledge of iron-folic acid supplementation, Timing of registration and number of Antenatal Care visits, educational level of the pregnant women, and age of the pregnant women were factors associated with the compliance of IFA supplementation among pregnant women in India
